I went into this party city in the evening and I was looking for a certain table cloth and we asked the young lady (JEN WITH SMERK) who was going to check us out if they happened to have anymore in stock and she asked someone else to go check so my daughter walked over and seen the other girl check the display which we already did that and I told her I could of told you that there were no more there do you guys have no more at all up on top or in the back she told us that the other girl checked which my daughter was there watching her she did not! They had AMAZING customer service, it's the biggest party city I've ever seen and even though we were there at 10:30 pm they were still very helpful and had a lot of stuff to offer. I was in Party City today and never had such poor customer service in my life. Stephanie who said she was the manager was rude and disrespectful. I had a question where a item was, her response was "can't you read the signs" ..... my response back was yea "bitch" I can read but your getting paid $10.00 per hour to work here. Your getting paid to tell me where your items are so I don't need to read!!!! She has very poor customer service skills and has no business running any type of store. Especially one that has so many customers. Several people put their items down and walked out after they heard how she had spoke to me. Needless to say I will never return to that store again. I was in line and another customer and i were talking about how we both received bad service. Over the last few years, I seem to get caught up in party planning for friends and family. No complaints here. Having something to celebrate is always a good thing! And having a nearby supply store to get your goodies like Party City is great. From floor to ceiling, they have items for just about any occasion and then some. Walking through all the rows and rows of colorful and fun items gives me great ideas and can also improve my mood. I especially like their balloon service (even though I despise driving with those suckers as unruly passengers in the car). They have a huge selection of latex and mylar balloons along with some very festive balloon weights. Reasonable prices. You can preorder your balloons ahead of time, and on the day of your event, just stop in and they will be ready and waiting for you. Makes driving around with those jerks a little less stressful. Looked on Party City's website and it stated you can bring in any balloon (even non-Party City ones) to get filled with helium for a charge. I bring one red balloon in. The associate tells me "You're gonna have to wait in this long line. And then it's gotta be Party City balloons with a receipt." I said that's why I double checked online and if I could just pay for my one balloon. She denied. Are you fricking kidding me. For gods sake this lady must have just missed her kid's birthday party or something, because her attitude was TERRIBLE. Don't ever go here to fill up balloons. read more

Honestly, I do not understand where all these poor reviews come from, I had the BEST customer service experience at this location. My husband and me went in to get some stuff for a graduation party and the employees were extremely helpful throughout the entire time (it was a Monday night so the store was pretty quiet). Especially one employee, Shawn, went all out for us, he even contacted other Party City locations to find out if they were carrying certain balloons that the Upland location was out of. Bad customer service by the white girl in the front of the store just now. I walked in asked her where I can find a specific color cloth tablecloth. She directed me down aisle five. When I tried to show her what colors I was looking for, she mentioned they were all down the aisle. I look bewildered cuz it was so much down there and she tells me there's different material types. When I tell her I want cloth again she directs me down aisle five. I then asked her if she could go down the aisle with me and give me a sistance. She said she would send someone else. She said someone else who came and helped me did a great job. However, as that person was helping me I noticed that the first person I came in contact with was in the aisle helping a white woman. I am black. All I could think was why did she send someone to help me and not help me herself, and then I turn around and see her assisting a white woman? Don't like to pull the race card but that's what it looked like to me. I wouldn't have to pull a race car that someone wouldn't put it out there. So I walked over to her when I was done and told her I noticed you helping that other woman in the aisle, but yet you didn't want to be bothered with me and send someone to help me. She had the audacity to tell me I'm sorry, I can't leave the front of the store that's why I sent someone to help you and I should have explained that. I said well if you can't leave the front of the store, why are you in the aisle I was in that you sent me too, helping someone else? That means you're not in front of the store? Clearly a racist issue. I told her you need to think next time how you treat your customers I was about to buy 24 tablecloths. Certainly that would have put a little Commission in your pocket. Instead I'll be going to your competitor. Will not be going back to the store and I found out I was dealing with the manager Cameron. I confronted her and of course she denied it. Just called her district manager Mike Noyes to report this to him. We'll never go back in the store and spend my money. Hope it was worth it to the to them to lose my business because I'm an event planner and do events for major Fortune 500 corporations. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. It's closer to my house so it's always been more convenient, however I decided unless I absolutely need to come here I'll make the drive to the one in Rancho. I don't like the area particularly and the people who hang around the shopping center for one. When I went to get balloons for my daughter's 5th bday, the slot for the 5 balloons was filled with everything BUT the number 5. And when I looked around to ask for help people avoided eye contact finally the cashier who was helping someone walked over (not to help me) and I asked her for the balloons. My daughter was trying to fix them and place the numbers in the right spot and I told her to stop. I understand things get messy but it's part of recovering the store. If there's downtime instead of standing around talking or on your phone there's a project you can do. I asked for help finding the make your own balloon animal sets and instead of taking me over there was told a general area where they are thus wasting more of my time. Unbelievably terrible customer service, especially from the supposed manager Stephanie. About 1 1/2 months ago my wife and I bought a lot of decorations from this store for a large party we were having. We made purchases on two different occasions and spent nearly $300 in all. Some of the items were balloons and we were assured that we could return the day before or the day of the party to have the balloons inflated at no charge. In addition we had ordered a special bouquet of balloons for the special occasion. The afternoon before the party I went back to party city however I was told I would be charged $4.99 per ballon for inflation. You've got to be kidding. This was more than the cost of most of the balloons we had purchased. When I asked to speak with a manager, Stephanie came and confirm this ridiculous policy, as she described it. Then she offered to inflate them for $2.99 each. This would have still cost me more than $50. In addition the bouquet we had ordered wasn't complete with everything we had ordered and several of those balloons weren't completely inflated. In the end I refused to pay Party City for the inflation and I went across the street to CVS where hey charged me $2.99 total to inflate all of the balloons. Thank you CVS. Needless to say I WILL NOT return to Party City again. After spending hundreds of dollars in their store and being a regular customer for a long time I can't believe how I was treated and their ridiculous policy. Good luck to any other customers who decide to shop there. Hopefully you will be treated better. I bet I don't get contacted by anyone from Party City either... read more

The employees here are slow and extremely unhelpful. I came in looking for a Seasonal item that I couldn't locate, but had just seen the other day. But when I asked about it to a salesgirl, she refused to check if it was in stock and just responded "if you don't see it, we don't have it." So I ended up leaving, but went online when I got home and saw that the store showed that they had six in stock. So I called and someone verified that they did still have some. So now I have to drive all the way back to pick it up. When I came back, I noticed that the items were placed up high in a different location where I couldn't reach. I asked an employee if she could take it down and she automatically gave me a look like she was irritated. She walked away and said she'd be back and it took her ten minutes to come back over. When she did finally get the item down it was one that was messed up and so I asked if I could see another one. Again she gave me an annoyed look and right away responded that she will get another one, but don't expect her to bring anymore down. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to buy an item with my money, I should be able to pick which one I want. And isn't their job to help customers? Besides, it wasn't my fault if they placed the items all the way at the top where shoppers can't reach it. But being the nice person I am, and because I didn't feel like arguing, I went ahead and just picked the second one she brought down and proceeded to the front to pay. When I got to the front there was only one person working the register. Although I did notice 3 or 4 other employees just standing around or joking with one another. So of course the line took forever with just one person ringing people up... sigh.... honestly, If there was another Party supply store near me, I would have gladly went elsewhere. And considering this place is called Party City, you would think they'd have happier, nicer people working here. These employees are just rude! read more

A couple months ago I was with my husband when we went in... I was carrying a mini backpack as a purse (in my line of work, a normal purse just doesn't cut it). We were looking for some plain gift bags and weren't sold on the selection, so we walked down to hobby lobby. We decided to go back for some we had seen and were greeted at the door with "you need to leave your backpack at the register" no "hi," no "hey you're back," just attitude. I thought she had said "my bags" so I tied them at the top and went to hand them to her. She got an attitude again and said "no ,your backpack!" So I said "umm you want to hold my purse? How come you didn't ask the first time?" She rolled her eyes and motioned to the cashier, who didn't even feel comfortable holding my purse. I told them both that they better have eyes on it the entire time, and removed my phone and had to carry that, with 300 bucks cash the 20ft across from them to get the damn bags I needed. Look... follow me around... alert the staff if you think my workout clothing and lack of makeup make me look suspicious... But by making me leave my purse with 2 teenage minimum wage workers is alarming. And who's to stop someone from even just "claiming" they had stole something? Prior to that visit I had spent hundreds there on items for my backyard wedding... I have not been back, nor will I go back and support this location. read more
