We worked with Jannette and EDSL and she was excellent! She guided us through their wide inventory of rentals and suggested things that were within our vision for our backyard wedding. EDSL was great to work with because they were responsive and prompt to my requests to adjust rental qualities. We even had a last minute kerfuffle because I forgot to order dinner knives. I called the day before the wedding and they allowed me to pick up the knives last minute. Delivery and pick up people were friendly and organized. They provided me a delivery and pickup window that they honored. They took great instruction too! The goods came clean and organized. Linens were perfectly pressed and hanged for convenient storage. While the companies products were satisfactory, I learned that another party was having an event at the same venue immediately after my event. Both parties had to pay for the same rentals and delivery/ pickup fees. The manager owner talked over my concern and was not willing to hear me. I even said I was not calling for money back but to express that I thought it was not a considerate thing to do nor a good business practice. So I conclude Elegant Design will not get my business again. read more

This team is a class act! I've hired them through my work (I'm a Party Planner) for the past few years on a regular basis, at least a couple of times each month. We started out just using Elegant for their beautiful and affordable chivari chairs and now use them for specialty linens quite often too. The linens are counted in by their staff after our event much faster than any of the other companies I work with (there are 5), so i always know if we we are short from an event. I speak with Christina on the phone most of the time and she is so responsive, friendly and helpful. Whenever I need a chair or linen sample they go out of their way to have it ready and even bring it out to L.A. when they have someone who will be in the area. The team that delivers our order onsite are great as well, they're always on time, and the type of guys that I feel comfortable with around my clients when they make an appearance at the job site. I ordered, chairs, tables, linens, lounge furniture & pipe & drape for our Hillsong Women's Colour Conference at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. From ordering, to making adjustments, to the set up and pick up, every person that assisted was on top of everything! They are the most reasonable, with the best quality!! BEWARE! Everything seemed great until AFTER our wedding AFTER we PAID IN FULL! A few days after our wedding was done and paid for, the owner of Elegant Designs Specialty Linens decides that it took their guys too long to pick up their stuff from our wedding and makes a reluctant and embarrassed employee call my wife to ask her if we could pay an ADDITIONAL $225!!!! My wife told her that was ridiculous, and the person on the phone said "I totally agree, but my boss is mad at us". Now, 3 months later EDSL calls us and says we have an outstanding balance of $225? *deep breath* ... and that's why we love Yelp. read more

We used Elegant Designs for our out of area wedding recently. Ordering the linens was fine. The linens themselves were fine and the delivery came without incident. However, the day before the ceremony, they called and said that they would not be picking up the linens until a day later even though we paid them an extra $150 to pick it up on Sunday. A couple of weeks after the wedding we got a bill charging us for a couple of table cloths? Did we get a call from them asking where they were? Did they call the reception hall to find out where they were? NO! They just expected us to pay for them. In fact, All of the table cloths had been returned and there was either a miscount or they just wanted us to pay a little extra. I hope this is not general business practice. They were rude on the phone and left an extremely bad taste in our mouths. Be very very careful using these guys and definitely watch your numbers to make sure they don't suddenly have 5 table cloths missing and want to charge you for them. Also, make sure someone signs in and out upon delivery. I would NOT recommend these guys. read more

So its June 24 my wedding was back in March i just randomly received an email from them saying i still owed $225 which they tacked on a few days after the wedding stating "it took our workers too long to pick up and drop off" WTF? I was contacted a few days after the wedding with this issue and i spoke to christina who agreed with me that i was never told about a possible extra fee and that it is not on my original invoice (which i still have). She says she called me back but obviously i was never contacted i just assumed she talked to the owner and resolved the issue since up until that point everything had been fine, my family even spent the day after stacking all of the chairs for them which was not part of the agreement we just thought it would help them out! I am beyond annoyed about this especially because i never got a call back or final invoice until today! that is so unprofessional its been 3 months! The invoice i have says $75 for the delivery and pick up the invoice i just received now says $300! I called christina asking her to explain to me exactly what the charge was for and she just kept saying the owner said it took too long and the guys had to walk a lot and there were stairs. umm ok it was really not that far it was in the backyard of a house and they maybe had to walk up 8-10 big cement steps a few of the guys even said that is was nothing compared to other venues. I also asked her what does the $75 cover how many feet, stairs, time etc. and she could not say. If you are going to charge more for something you better have a reasonable argument. I along with about 10 other people were present during drop off and the guys were done in about an hour they dropped off 150 chairs and like 20 tables. Also they literally just dropped them off we unstacked, unfolded and set everything ourselves. I really hope this gets resolved i had decided to not even write a yelp thinking they took care of this while still being a little annoyed at the thought of them ripping me off after spending over 1k with them but unfortunately i feel people need the heads up with possibly getting charged so much extra for something that was never even discussed. read more

I'm shocked and disturbed by what happened to me at elegant design. Granted I got upset and I raised my voice. However for very good reason. One of my companies ordered linens for a wedding that we were the ONLY rental vendor at. Keep this in mind. Which means we were the only ones who brought linens to this wedding (full service wedding coordinators). We ordered linens from Elegant and one other company. When I brought back my linens Elegant rented me we went through the linens together. All rental companies have tags on them with their own label. The other companies linens I rented were the first to get separated and they were accounted for. Perfect. No issue. Next we went through the other linens with all the other Elegant Linen tags. There were three tags that didn't have a name on them but we knew they were Elegant because it's the only vendor we used for the linens other than the ones we accounted for that were "the other companies". The three linens they refused to take back (and charged me over 250.00 for) They said those are not our because of the seams weren't like theirs. I understand but doesn't mean things sometimes get overlooked. Being a big linen company and me having over 15 years experience working with these companies sometimes these companies take in linens from someone else's event that get mixed up that are the same size and color, they cleaned them and accidentally put them in their own inventory. I happened to be the customer that was given these random linens that I picked up from them. When I returned them they said "we will not except these linens they are not ours". I asked them to prove it since we only came to them. They refused to except they made a mistake and 2 of their employees talked to me with such disrespect I felt like I wasn't talking to a business anymore. They said "I messed up and got them from somewhere else", as if I was a liar and delusional about where I drove my car to get my inventory, which we didn't. The event didn't provide linens, keep this in mind, we were the only ones to provide all rentals. As I got upset they not only kept agitating me into anger but one of the young hoodlum workers in the back aggressively approached me and threw linens in my face and said sorry these are not ours and talked down to me. I puffed up my chest, I thought he was going to get physical with me. I told them I was getting very upset and they said "oh well these aren't ours". I said I will not be taking these since these are yours and you made the mistake of giving me" he said then "we will burn them and you're going to pay for them" the owner stood their and allowed the employees to speak to customers this way and become aggressive. I'm very appalled and never ever ever ever have had an experience like this before with any business. As a business owner, if I were in this situation I would do anything I could to make it right with a customer that was soooooo sure they were their linens. I didn't go anywhere else except this other company for 4 linens that had labels and was accounted for by Elegant and was returned. I have all my invoices from that weekend to prove it. I ask you as a small business owner and a man of reason do not give these people anymore business. This is what their personalities are capable of. I will be posting pictures of invoices from both companies and my companies invoice to my client so you can all see. I will do anything I can to make this known to everyone I know. read more

Elegant Designs Specialty Linens couldn't have been better. I started the process with Christina and she was amazingly accommodating. They completed their delivery on-time and left. About an hour later I walked-through our venue with the coordinator. In my opinion there were some changes that needed to be made (rows of chairs were too close together for the ceremony and the napkins had color variation (which to their credit, they told me in advance)). The coordinator said she anticipated my reaction and had already called. She left a message on their emergency number and hadn't heard back. I immediately called, spoke with the owner Vincent, and he had everything corrected within an hour. Even the coordinator was surprised everything was fixed - she prepared me that the napkins were unlikely to get corrected. I was so impressed by their quality, service, and product we just got back from our honeymoon yesterday and my first call this morning was to Elegant to thank them for all they did when I was "melting down" about the details 3 hours before our wedding and to ask where I could leave a review.
