Working with Partyman was one of the worst decisions my wife and I made throughout our wedding planning. We had such high hopes and expectations based on previous reviews and social media posts, but what they delivered on the wedding day was far below expectation for any wedding, let alone for how much we paid. Our biggest grievances throughout the night were with the quality of food and the presentation of the stations we had planned for. We flew to Rochester from our home in Florida a month before the wedding to do a tasting, and the food was fantastic at the time. What Partyman delivered at the actual wedding was far below the quality that we had tried. The risotto was dry, not flavorful, and not the consistency anyone would expect from a risotto. It turned out more like a rice. The scallops were rubbery, had no sear on them, and were inedible and smelly. We upgraded to filet mignon instead of sirloin, but the filets were all cooked inconsistently - some were well done, others medium, and yet others medium rare, even at the same table. We also didn't realize how poorly the hors d'oeuvres were handled and provided for our guests during the cocktail hour. We were told that people were being handed pierogis by tongs without any utensils or plates. At best they received napkins to eat them on which stuck to the pierogis, and most of the time they had to chase a Partyman employee down to get them. There was no station set up where people could find plates or utensils for them to eat the hors d'oeuvres with. To have our guests tell us this was incredibly embarrassing. One of the main reasons we chose Partyman was because they make customizable dishes. My mom spent a great deal of time putting together a video to show Partyman's chefs how to make a Bosnian dish, burek, properly because the flavor and texture of the dish were not right at the tasting. They were happy to accept the recommendations, but in the end, the chefs completely disregarded it and made their own version at the wedding. This was one of the things I was looking forward to most at the wedding and ended up being so disappointed in. To completely disregard our feedback and make the same dish we had at the tasting was misleading and unprofessional. Partyman is capable of creating some great stations that showcases their food in aesthetically pleasing ways. We were expecting the burek station to have a fun display that highlights the dish, but there was nothing there but someone cutting pieces for people. People had absolutely no idea what it was. None of the stations, including the custom crepe station and garbage plate station, were set up in any creative way. Although the owner provided a refund, what we received was nowhere near what we expected. There were many details of our wedding that were missed. We entrusted Partyman to do a professional and thorough job and to deliver high quality in the way of food and creativity, which was anything but that. We received excuses as to why the quality of the food suffered. When things go so wrong, the accountability lies with the caterer. The food is their sole responsibility. It goes without saying that our guests were polite and provided Partyman's employees with positive reviews as they walked around to pick up dinner plates. No guest would be rude enough to say their meal was bad in the moment, but many of our family members and guests didn't eat their entrees because the food was so poor. It's disheartening to have to write this review, but when a company starts to get big, quality can suffer and details can fall through the cracks, as was the case at our wedding with napkins, forks, and plates missing during cocktail hour, entrees being inedible, and station décor forgotten about and disregarded. I included the one picture of the burek station our photographer captured. There aren't any others considering the stations were nothing special. There are many great catering companies in Rochester that can deliver the quality and professionalism they promise. For us, Partyman was not one of those companies. read more

Quite simply, if your question is: "Should I go with Partyman Catering?" .... before you can even finish the sentence, the answer is an emphatic, "YES!" You absolutely should and you will be beyond happy with the results. They go above and beyond and I have never worked with a more accommodating company. My husband and I chose Partyman for our June 2022 backyard wedding for a couple of reasons: first of all, we had been stalking them on Instagram and loved what we saw but we also liked that it allowed us to support a local business. From the beginning Partyman made our decision and the process incredibly easy. They are happy to work with you to create exactly what you want -- you are not pigeon-holed into a handful of restrictive packages with limited selections. You are able to customize to truly make your event just what you want -- from the food and drinks to the linens right down to the water glasses and the utensils. From our first meeting the message was: the more we know about your event, the better so we can execute it and we instantly felt comfortable and throughout the process realized just how much they meant that. Partyman Catering leads with confidence and over delivers. We worked with Amanda who was incredibly helpful, thorough and made sure every thing looked beautiful and ran like clockwork. We wanted to include beer from our local brewery for our guests and it was no problem. She helped facilitate that. She helped set up the reception space, lit candles and probably about a million other details I don't even know about. She was a joy to work with and she makes it look easy and I know it's not. As for the food, people are still talking about it -- wistfully, in that way that they would drive miles to have it again. We had the opportunity to sample it at our tasting so we knew we loved it but it was amazing to see everyone else enjoying it as much as we did. Overall, it's rare to find a company that is so organized and delivers such quality product and service but is also warm, inviting and friendly. Absolutely worst place to rent from. I have been working with this company for a couple of years, but they have really let their customer service slip. This year, they set the tent up in the wrong spot and instead of making it right the guy on the crew started yelling and telling me I would be charged for his timeout they would take the tent away. Sure enough they charged me $75 without my permission on top of a $50 delivery fee AND a $50 set up fee. I will not be using them again! read more

With our venue we had to use them which was fine at first. We had at least 3 different planners while planning our wedding, no biggie, but every time a new one came along they had no idea what was already talked about. We were to get married in Aug 2022 but covid hit and we had to move to Oct 2022. We understood it would be hard to move things around with those we had booked. We moved everything up in the day so we could accommodate Partyman having to leave at 8:30pm instead of 11pm due to other events. When we got in to the reception they brought us our drinks, they had marked down the wrong beer and when we told them that what they brought wasnt right they rolled their eyes and got frustrated with us. The 1 request that was at the top of the contract bold and !'s was completely messed up. There was supposed to be a seat set for my late father. Never was set. My sister and mom got a setting and then the crew kept removing it even though my family said no don't and there was a sign on it. My wife's family got served then all the other guess before my family even got called, they knew where my family was sitting. They then made all our guess feel rushed to eat their dinner so they could clear the tables. When the cake was served instead of asking us what the flavors were they just guessed and were telling people the wrong kind. Thankfully we didn't have anyone with a food allergy. We also go smores to be done later in the night but they pushed us to do it right after cake which we missed because we were off getting pictures done. The last hour of the bar was to be cash. They tried to pull a fast one and close it completely down. When I said no go to cash bar as we planned the bartender rolled her eyes at me. We were so frustrated and upset we ended up ending our wedding night early because of them. They completely ruined our wedding!! For how much we spent it shouldn't have ended like it did! We had booked and postponed my daughter's wedding bc of Covid and after having a house fire early Dec we called to cancel the wedding reception all together with the thoughts of not getting our money back that we had paid in ! BOY WAS I WRONG !!! The owner JOE called me not only to tell me they would refund all money ASAP but also offered his help in the future to help make their wedding reception a reality. As we struggle through Covid we hear all the negative about people so I wanted to take the time to make sure people know how wonderful this company is ! They were very prompt in answering all emails and correspondence, and did an amazing job following up every couple of days with us as we took our time deciding. I worked with Amanda who was quick to respond to emails and always willing to work with us on what we wanted for our wedding. The men who came to set up the tent were professional and efficient. The food was delicious - all of my wedding guests really loved it! Partyman Catering & Rentals supplied the food, tents, tables and chairs for a small event at my home. Several of the guests wanted to know who supplied the food because they enjoyed it so much. People particularly raved about the BBQ chicken. The fruit, lettuce and macaroni salads were fresh and delicious. Everyone wanted to take leftovers home!t The tents, tables and chairs were white and spotless. Everything was delivered on time. Pricing was below the competition.
