10/16/19 my toddler went missing, one minute we were playing hide and seek in the book racks, the next he was gone. I walked around the whole library and after not finding him, I asked one of the librarians at the children's desk. They said no, hadn't seen him, and the next thing I see are librarians on walkie-talkie's and security all looking for my son. After 10 loonnggg minutes of searching with librarians, concerned mothers and not finding him, the manager suggested we call the police. As we were on the phone, a librarian found my toddler hiding in a book shelf. How a 3 year old remains quiet as a bunch of adults are calling for him, I don't know. I do know, I am so appreciative of their quick, organized, action. I am grateful that they took my concerns seriously, that they swept into action, and found my son. Thank you. read more

When this library first opened, it was the most beautiful one in Las Vegas. Today, it still is one of the better ones because of how well kept it is. The staff are friendly and helpful. The children's department puts together some wonderful programs including a teen's time on Thursdays. Throughout the year, they put on special events and gatherings that are fun and exciting for the family. read more

Libraries aren't what they used to be, are they? They aren't so quiet, and their hours are shorter now that people can conduct research online from home. How do you keep people coming? You have to compete with places like Starbucks to give people a reason to come and hang out. This library has a cafe, like many libraries do now. It's a cute little area where you can buy beverages and snacks and small lunches. The library seems a bit older, with furnishings that could use a little updating, but what's most important for most patrons are the literary offerings, the comfort level, and ease of studying. Can you sit for hours? Are there enough plugs? My group reserved a small meeting room and plugged in our laptops for an afternoon meeting. We were able to use free wifi, which is to be expected at libraries these days. Signing up for a new card took a couple of minutes. The meeting room was barebones basic. We noticed that we stuck to the grimy, wooden chairs, which was pretty gross. A good cleaning would help this place out. read more

This library is really nice. Always has events, quiet rooms, a cafe whose food and drink the library allows you to bring in. It's really an awesome place. Also has a cute little outside area for this who enjoy to get their reading on while they get their sun on! read more

It's been many years since I stepped foot in a library. Libraries are like candy stores for the mind. One of my all time favorite movie quotes is "TV is the opium of the masses." God knows I am an addict of the digital plasma box. But seeing how high speed libraries have become I think I can use this amazing place to kick the habit...for good? I don't know it depends on what HBO comes up with next. Back to the Library. I remember the libraries on my youth have the noise level of a church. What I saw today I hope is not the norm. I saw a dude sitting there at a computer with headphones on while I was looking for any random book to catch my attention. This same dude logged off took his headphones off and proceeded to ripple the waters of silence with a bunch of useless bravado. I followed the sound of his voice thinking that I might be able to sham him into being more quiet. The chase was short lived. He shut up and orbit around and then let loose again. SShhhhhhhhhhhh little loud man. I checked out several books including "Mac for Dummies", "Leading the Charge" written by a USMC General that it was my pleasure to hear speak and a book on cats. During the check out process, card was expired. The staff was quick to assist and point out some new features to me about the capabilities. They included emails to remind you when to return your books. You can even renew as long as something is not on hold from your computer at home. Time to cancel cable...but only after "Entourage", "Boardwalk Empire" and "Game of Thorns." The return to the library and randomly learn about whatever catches my eye. read more

This is a great neighborhood library. I love to study there. It has a nice ambiance.

the next best thing to a book store is a public library. when i first moved to the area, i frequented this location alot. i didnt have any cable tv set up yet, so good shows were hard to come by. thankfully, they have a pretty good dvd AND vhs selection. it may not be up to date, but there were some tv shows i discovered, and newly released movies i wanted to see. some of the things worth mentioning is the existence of a little cafe area in the front, week long rentals for DVD's, up to a 35 item limit, book sales, story time, special events, free WiFi, online renewals, self checkout, public computers which is separate from the library itself. the library is a part of the Henderson District Public Libraries. also there is the Henderson Pavilion adjacent to the library as well. oh, and there is a police station in the same area. You know the saying "the closer you are to danger, the further you are away from harm." well its not true here cuz i saw motorcycled-cops along green valley pkwy, just feet away from the station...so drivers beware anyways, the best part yet is that they give you a library card key chain! might not be a big deal to you, but i have cards from 4 other libraries and none of them came with a key chain... read more

I love this library!! It's in a great location and they even have a place to order food/drinks inside. The food is cheap too!! I take the little girl I nanny for here all the time. She loves to look for books and then we sit down and read. I think they usually close at 6 pm. read more

This is a great library. Its located near the police station near the multicultural center. I feels safe. The library is very well organized and has a great children's section as well. Both my daughters always have fun being there. The cafe is a huge plus for me as I enjoy having a small bite with some coffee. The staff is very nice and helpful. I especially love this nice reading area designated to relax, read a book and enjoy a great view. I enjoy this place, you should visit. read more

Like everything that Henderson provides to our community, this library is awesome! Very large and well-stocked. You can hold items online for pick-up and they'll be waiting for you with your name on them at the pick-up area. The self checkout is really convenient. There's a cafe up front (never been in) but it's a nice addition to a library! The DVD's are great (I've been getting the Baby Signing Time to watch with my infant) but they can only be taken for a week at a time. There's convenient drop bins in the parking lot. Best library in Vegas

I've lived in Green Valley for 20 years so I prefer GV Library a little more but this one is also very nice. Seems like there's a bit more traffic here, probably because The Henderson Pavillion & The District etc. are next door. The best thing about this library I believe is probably the view of Las Vegas it has (past the computers), especially at night! That's what I would say makes it stand out. The café is good too! I almost forgot the critics...for the critics that don't like this library....I truly hope you are donating to Henderson's libraries foundations because if you guys want new furniture every few years (this library is only 6 years old) and as much of a selection/stockpile as Barnes & Nobles, Amazon etc., I strongly suggest you make huge donations :) read more

I love this library and so do my boys. Computers are plentiful and staff is always willing to go way out of their way to help. They are very knowledgable and actually shocked me when they told me where I could find a book I was asking about. There is a cafe right as you come in the door and from what I have seen, not overly expensive. I wish they had longer hours, but it seems that libraries are a dying breed due to kindles and what not. I prefer to hold my books, not a mini computer so I will keep frequenting this library. read more

Found this library because the past two Monday's the Green Valley Library I've been trying to go to was closed. Come to find out that's a regular thing for them so while reading Yelp reviews I read someone said something about this Library being open Monday's. So I drove on up here and absolutely loved it! Very cute coffee shop right when you walk in on the right. I'll be checking that out this weekend when we go to drop off our books. Very clean and well put together and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My two year old loved the children's area and the little playing area they have. Will be coming back here weekly for books with my daughter and boyfriend. read more

A library nerd's dream place. I love it. From walking in past all the community events boards, the yummy snack bar, the frequent cheapo used book sales ($2 for a whole bag of books....heck yeah!!!), the people at the circulation desk are always smiling, the computer equipment is fast and reliable and there is plenty of room to spread out and study or work. It is probably the most efficiently laid-out library I've ever been in. Plus the reading room is AWESOME. read more

One of my favorite libraries to go too! Equipped with an snack bar on the entrance, and a reading area with a view that brings in a lot of natural light which is great for reading and studying. This is my favorite library. Located close to a recreation center, police station, fire station, shopping center, state of the art outdoor amphitheatre,office buildings, 4-5 star resort and award winning parks and recreation nearby, you could not pick a better location to have a library. the people who volunteered and work there are fabulous. You have access to there computers, printers and copiers, plenty of kids books, references, easy access to their resources online as long as you have a library card. Inside close to main entrance is a coffee shop, the only coffee shop in town that is inside a library so you can enjoy a sandwich, a cup of Joe, or a snack while reading a book you picked out from the library. Did I mention they even have a reading area overlooking the skyline of Las Vegas at night. I strongly suggest anyone to go over there and see this place yourself. read more

I've been back to school for a little over a year now! I've been coming to the Paseo Verde Library since late February. It's a great opportunity for me to go in and get my homework done. Their staff are always there to help, if needed, and have quiet areas where I can sit and concentrate. The wall where it has mainly windows provide an excellent view of the valley. I would always recommend this location to come in to study, work (if applicable), or other related needs. Way to go Paseo Verde Library!!! Kudos to you! read more

It is worth noting that I started using this library for books, stories, puzzles for my child, and coming here has increased my own time spent reading. I now keep a long list of books that I write down based on seeing or hearing about books/topics that interest me, and am more prone to have 2-3 books going at the same time - and it has been fantastic. It is community resources like this that need to be supported and preserved. I made the plunge and joined the Friends of the Henderson Library District just for this purpose. read more
