We visited this winery as part of a wine tour. The owner himself (David) was our wine guide. How cool is that! I prefer big red wines so we focused the tasting on those. My fav was the Syrah with a nice spicy, peppery flavor. We decided to have lunch here as well and chose the fish of the day which was gurnard. The meal was delicious. The large windows in the tasting room provided beautiful views of the grounds and the sculptures found throughout. Great stop. read more
Fantastic wines, especially their reds, and a must visit to their restaurant. Do the tasting menu - everything was perfectly executed and plated beautifully. Plus, their seating is a bright and sunny beautiful room that overlooks the vineyard. On a sunny day the windows open or you can sit outside. We were here during the rain and it was still beautiful. Friendly family and crew who work here. Worth the trip out to them. read more

Really relaxing spot for lunch next to the grape vines. We had some pizza and a wine tasting. It was nice and peaceful compared to the busy Man O' War tasting that we did right before this. I'd recommend going to Man O' War first right when it opens at 11am and then drive to Passage Rock for some food at noon. Keep in mind you need a 4 wheel drive car to make it to Man O' War since it is such a long gravel and dusty road. We rented our car from Waiheke Motors and picked it up right at the ferry terminal. I'd recommend doing this over the tour buses and public buses because you are in control of your own time schedule. Also it is way better than biking because you will be covered in dust and it was so hot walking around in the summer time. Only regret was not staying on the island in a hotel for 2 days. We had to cram in 6 wineries into one day - they were all great! If you only have one day then try to hop on the 8am ferry from Auckland because the ferry lines get packed after 9am. Here was our schedule: Man O' War - Wine Tasting Passage Rock - Wine Tasting and Pizza Lunch Casita Miro - Wine Tasting Stoney Ridge - Wine Tasting/Nap on the lawn Batch - Wine Tasting Mudbrick - Sunset Dinner read more

The wines were good and they had a good variety. Tastings include 4 wines and then additional tastings are $2 each. It is nice setting and nice tasting room, though the views are not as stunning as some others. And it is way out there on the east side of the island, which is a beautiful part of the island, but far. read more
