Nice little gallery featuring local artists. This is located on the upper level of the beautiful passageway building. There is a LOT of art here, it was hard for me to take it all in. As usual, I don't love all of it, but there is a great variety, and a wide range of price points. I bought a really cute pair of earrings ($15). I stopped in on First Thursday, because I saw a sign on the sidewalk. Some art galleries in the Old Market have events for this. There were snacks, and one of the artists was there to talk about his work and answer questions. Very nice - it's an informal and friendly space.

A little touristy spot in the Old Market. It's a popular place to take photos of all life events and bring visitors. If you happen to stumble upon it by yourself, it's a very pleasant discovery. There is a ever rotating shift of shops, usually trinkets and artwork and art galleries, and the art seems to change time to time when I visit. Trini and V Mertz have been the stand alone restaurants here since I first started living in Omaha- they are OK but you're paying to dine in this lovely atmosphere.

There is a little bit of something for everyone here! I always manage to find cute stuff for myself and gifts for everyone else too. One of my favorite stores in the Passageway is the gallery off 11th Street that has a selection of local artist's works. I wish I could find cool paintings like these for such great prices in Chicago. I also dig the handmade jewelry, wooden boxes, and tin angel ornaments. The other store I love has entry on Howard Street. It's a long store filled with incense, handbags, scarves, masks, jewelry, wind chimes, clothing, books, knickknacks, wall hangings... If I named everything they sell, this would be the longest Yelp review ever. Try it out. You are bound to find SOMETHING in here. Don't miss out on the shops downstairs either! There is a cute little kid's shop with all the latest toys and old fashioned ones too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beware:They don't accept any returns! Check out the spiritual oasis next door (in the basement). They have books on wizards, meditation, mysticism, Buddism, and all other spiritual endeavors. Buy candles, incense, chimes, charms, cards, gifts, and more. Stay a while and take a lesson from one of the enlightened staff. Literally, something for everyone. Don't miss out on this special space in the heart of downtown Omaha!

And the best part? It's completely FREE!  Whether you're looking for a solo reset, a cute date idea, quality time with friends, or a fun family outing, this is the perfect place to slow down, get inspired, and pour back into yourself. Let me also add - great location for weddings and recently did Slow Sundays (yoga) here! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTDLEE28v/

Apparently a relatively recent rebuild as of this writing, this art museum inhabits a majestic…read morespace. The roads leading to the parking include some counterintuitive one ways and you can (and I did) end up in a dead end, but it's generally not busy enough to prevent you from figuring it out. Entrance is free, with one exhibition being a separate paid ticket. I appreciated a substantial portion of the collection devoted to the Native American peoples of the region and the early expansion of the United States. Having said that, it was also a global collection. I gave myself an hour to view it and had to rush just to get a brief run of the place. Some of the modern art didn't really come off for me, but overall it was a thought-provoking collection. There was also a substantial educational component, with rooms being devoted to what looked like early childhood education and more of a summer camp for older children. The site was well known to everyone I talked to in the city, and clearly a significant local institution, but one worth visiting regardless of where you are from.
