I walked up with three packages that were pre-labeled, and just wanted to drop them off since I was in the area. This person was heading out to lunch and refused to simply take the packages and place them inside, forcing me to go to the Valmont Post Office, which I was not intending to do today. This is not only a waste of my time, but a waste of the half gallon of gas to get there and back. And I had a baby with me. Have you no soul?? This business has lost whatever design, gift or postal box business I might have given them in the future. As one small business owner to another, get your customer service in shape!

Upon entering, I see…read moreseveral signs telling you never ever to enter the store on the wrong side (Yes, the words "never" and "ever" are on the sign). Then there are other various signs about how they don't want unattended children anywhere in their store, and lines on the floor telling you where to walk and not walk. Seems like a nice place right? I proceed to the counter (making sure to follow the signage). Since they do USPS and there is a FedEx drop box right outside of their store, I thought they might be affiliated with FedEx also, and was hoping to drop off a package since there is no drop off for several miles. No no. Silly me. I come in and ask to use a pen to fill out my slip. the older woman (I'm betting she owns the place) tells me "we don't do FedEx. We have nothing to with them. They just have a drop-off outside of our Store. They don't pay us at all and they definitely don't pay us for our pens." Wow. Nice lady. I feel bad for the younger girl who has to work with her.

Otherwise, my review remains the same. :-) This is a Southwest Native American art store that carries pottery, jewelry and paintings. They also have a great selection of Zuni fetishes (stone animal carvings). All of the fetishes and about 80% of the jewelry are of Zuni pueblo origin, but other tribes/pueblos represented include Navajo, Hopi, Acoma, Mata Ortiz, Santa Clara and Jemez. The pottery is the most diverse. Although most of the pieces there are a little pricey, you can find fetishes for under $50, jewelry with natural stones and excellent craftsmanship for under $75 and pottery for under $150. All of the pieces are bought directly from the native artists but this is not a fair trade store.
