There were three people working and everyone was welcoming and helpful. The lei itself was beautiful and well constructed. It didn't seem to stay overly fresh for very long, although the unusually warm weather may have contributed. The shop also has a very large floral selection. Lovely shop. Many of the plants are overpriced, but most of the home goods are fairly priced. Great for seasonal gifts and single stems as well. I really wish they'd do a nicer job of their outside lights at Christmastime. Our little downtown looks so lovely at Christmas/Hanukkah; it's disappointing the florist storefront of all places looks so pathetic (do they just toss a couple of light nets on without looking?). Otherwise, this is one of my favorite places in town. read more

We used Lafayette florist for our wedding bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages. We were very happy with the results. (We did our own centerpieces etc.) I was very adamant that I wanted few cut flowers, mostly succulents, and chose the color palette but gave Jordan the artistic freedom to come up with what she thought looked best within a certain price. That was very convenient and we weren't disappointed. We even successfully rooted a few of the succulents used in my bouquet. We also enjoy the store because they have lots of plants of course, but also have a little info card that gives info about the plant, including light preference, water frequencies, and difficulty. Which is immensely helpful when you are looking for a plant for a specific space and don't have to look anything up on the spot. They have a cute pond with turtles and koi too. read more

Very few flowers (some will not last until morning I'm sure) and cheap little water vase. All for $30 (plus $12 delivery). Really? Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, never again. I have been using these folks for the past few months to send flowers to my girlfriends work place in the area. The flowers always arrive at a decent time and the office just LOVES when the flowers arrive as the arrangements are always so beautiful! I recently ordered 2 dozen roses to be delivered, but within a few days the flowers started dying, which has never happened when ordering from this florist. I called and spoke to the manager Gladys who apologized for the inconvenience and replaced the flowers free of charge!! She was super friendly and even called my girlfriend to remind her to bring in the flowers for a replacement! WOW! Above and beyond taking care of the customer!!! There are so many things to love about this place and its staff. Firstly, they know their stuff. The staff is knowledgeable despite looking like they just graduated from high school. I bring in pest infested leaves and they can diagnose and recommend good organic (and non-organic) solutions. They have a big greenhouse that's well stocked with plants, planters and pots. All that and a very cool indoor water feature with fish, various water plants, bridges and cool lighting schemes - my kids love it. Its so nice to be able to support the (big) little guy these days and not feel like the selection is lacking or the prices inflated. read more

Just moved to the area and had been dying to check this place out! Unfortunately what finally brought me in was my boyfriends grandmother being hospitalized. The shop is amazing, tons of options and a great place to stroll around. It's huge! After picking a gorgeous bouquet ($85 in the refrigerated room) the cashier begins wrapping up the flowers with the vase filled to the brim with water, I asked her to please dump out some of the water since we would be driving a while. After dumping some of the water out she re-appeared and our flowers were wrapped up and tied with the pricetag still clearly showing. I am not sure if it is typical to keep the tags in like that but I was quite disappointed with the level of customer service. Especially with such an expensive purchase. read more

Save yourself the trouble and go with a different florist if you'd like good customer service. I had called early in the morning to order some flowers for same day delivery for a family member that was having surgery that day. I was told it was no problem and that the flowers would go out in the afternoon and be sent to the hospital reception area. I paid for the order then, and I called back later in the afternoon to see if the flowers had been delivered as promised only to find out that they weren't going to be delivered until the following day due to them being booked with other deliveries. Unfortunately for me, my family member is due to be discharged the next day. Not only was I promised and I paid for same day delivery, but I was not even notified when the delivery was going to be delayed. Now I have to coordinate next day delivery locations and timing due to poor service. Bad customer service all around - not something I want to be dealing with when a family member is in the hospital. read more

If you walk into a business today that is still using the DOS System; that's right, those orange letters and numbers that blink set to a blackened screen you should leave. Just use the GPS on your phone to find another florist. I asked to have flowers delivered to my wife and because the clerk could not show me a photo of what I may be getting for the money they simple sent one flower in a horrible looking farm vase and some babies breath. It was sad and the deliver fee was 15 bucks. Maybe not their fault, they were very nice but the product was lame. It says a lot about a place when they're not up to speed with customer service in a technological sense. I recently bought flowers from another shop called 1-800 flowers.com from my desk and was even able to see exactly what I was getting for the money. The flowers where amazing this time. Its a brave new world and Lafayette Florist would be well served to be part of it. read more

Lafayette Florists did the flowers for my mom's memorial service. I am absolutely thrilled with the gorgeous bouquets they created. I was pretty specific about what I was looking for-- something colorful and cheerful that would represent a celebration of my mom's life, not something gloomy or funeral-like. I felt like the woman I spoke to really understand what I was wanting and promised to honor my mom-- and the results were fantastic.
