They also had a vegetarian sausage option which was a nice, albeit unexpected touch especially coming from a bbq joint that seems to specialize in meat, (as most do I suppose). The fish was incredibly fresh and the temaki rolls were huge! Got super lucky and they had fresh Toro on the menu, so I had to get 2 Toro temaki an done scallop temaki. Both rolls were made fresh and as I said above, the fish and scallop was super fresh tasting. With 3 rolls, I was incredibly stuffed afterward. Only criticism I have is I wish the nori was more crisp and the rice was better cooked, but for the price and the fact that this was all made in a food truck, I have no complaint. I've ordered and picked up food several times over the past two weeks, both for myself and with my daughter (I haven't eaten at the truck itself). The sandwiches are clearly the highlight of the menu--fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully assembled. They are well made and worth ordering again. The bowls, however, don't rise to the same level. They tend to be somewhat bland and less memorable, lacking the flavor punch you expect from this cuisine. Pricing is where things become questionable. Some items simply don't feel properly priced. Charging $3.00 for a single piece of pita is hard to justify. There's an old Irish saying: "Good food and plenty of it keeps the heart warm." And in the spirit of good Cajun hospitality, great food should always be served with the customer in mind. Right now, Falafayette feels good but not generous, not exceptional.
