There's a number of choices when it comes to food on this part of Harris Street and this is your outlet should need to carboload! Pasta Vera, as the name may suggest, specialises in handmade pasta and also in large bowls of olives! In restaurants, when you order a serving of olives, you'll usually be presented with a small serving that will satisfy a the appetite of a average sized hamster, but in this case we were given a rather large bowl of mixed green and black delights with a not-insignificant amount of oil made from their relatives! We didn't end up getting through them all before it was time for our mains. I'd ordered the veal ravioli (mainly because I was with a vegetarian and I know how much they love veal!) in a white wine sauce with wild mushrooms ($17). Yes, the pasta tasted fresh, so I was happy with that, although the veal filling wasn't fantastic, and although the white wine sauce wasn't bad, it didn't really have much body to it, which was a shame. Overall, the dish was tasty, but didn't blow me away, but for a relaxed Saturday afternoon lunch it worked quite well. Not fantastic, but would be interested to try their other pasta offerings! read more
