We picked up a tres leches strawberry filled cake and it was delicious. The staff are very kind and patient as I wasn't sure of what type of cake I wanted. Please understand that they specialize in cakes and not many other baked goods so they do not carry bread or cookies that I saw or honestly asked about. We LOVE this bakery! We live in East Los Angeles & there is nothing as good as their Tres Leches cake! So when my mother in law, who lives in Reedley, turned 90, we knew we would order her cake from here! I dealt with Luis over the phone, who was extremely professional and kind. We needed a cake to serve 60, so he made a recommendation on the cake size & even offered to split the filling half & half, which we opted for- half chocolate & half strawberry. I had looked online & seen many of their cakes decorated beautifully with fresh flowers, so I asked about that & he suggested I bring some flowers by the day before to decorate her cake, so we did so. It turned out to be a beautiful cake and SOOO delicious! We had so many compliments on the cake and of course, everyone asking where we had gotten it. And Pasteleria Plaza even offers balloons! We had already purchased 90th birthday balloons, so they offered to blow them up for us for a nominal fee. Yay! Talk about a one stop shop! And don't forget to buy one of their Fireworks candles! We didn't get one for the 90th birthday for fear of scaring the older guests, but its been an ongoing tradition for other birthdays! I've been a fan of this place for years. I've just never written a review until now. This is a traditional cake bakery. They do not sell any other baked goods. Maybe that's why their cakes are so darn delicious because they dedicate themselves to making an almost perfect tres leches cake. The walnut one is delicious, but so is the strawberry one.....and the chocolate....okay they're all delicious in their own sweet way. I really do love that they sell individual cake slices for when the cake craving hits but you're ashamed to buy a whole cake for yourself. Lol they also sell Knick knacks, decor and a helluva lot of piñatas. If you're in the area, get yourself a slice and enjoy! read more

Unsatisfied/Disappointed, AGAIN For a business that prides itself on "perfection", they certainly don't live up to it's name. I always place my orders 4 weeks in advance and pay in full before pick up. I ordered a 2 tier Minecraft theme cake for my son's birthday. I provided an image that I wanted the cake to resemble. The day of the pick up, I sent my brother to pick it up. He got to the party and said in disbeliefe, "You paid all that money for this?" As I saw the cake, I wanted to cry. It was TERRIBLE. The lack of effort that went into decorating this cake was unspeakable. The attendees at the party were also unimpressed with the UGLY cake presentation. (PLEASE see picture for the terrible job that they did) Foolishly, I decided to once again, order a cake. It was for fewer people and it was a 1 tier round cake. Again, ordered waaaay ahead of time and paid in full upon placing the order. Gave them design and color specifications. The day that I picked up the cake, NOT ONE SINGLE COLOR that I had previously specified was used on the cake. Everything was off. I told them about this and they simply didn't care to make an effort to make it right. I wanted to leave the cake but had already promised to bring the cake to a friend's party that was happening in a couple of hours. SAVE YOUR TIME and MONEY. I ordered some cupcakes, gave a picture of what they should look like. They said ok "we can do it" . No they can't. I get there on pick up day. And the cupcakes are not designed as specified. I asked for a refund. They said they never charged me extra. This means they knew they would f*** up in advance ? Anyways don't go here. It wasn't hard for them to say no we can't do that. I love how I can get super yummy tres leches cake done professionally and it's nearby. I recently was able to get a 3 layered tres leches cake for for my daughters birthday in such short notice. I ordered it two days before I needed it! I didn't want it decorated much bc I had made my own cake topper. And they were able to make one for me. The cake was so delicious! $38 and it was very much worth it! The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is that I wished they had better packaging. My cake kinda fell to the side bc it didn't have a cover. I know it was because my cake was taller than usual. Which was fine bc it didn't take away from the taste. read more

Tres leches with fresh strawberries. The first time I had a cake from here was for my baby shower - and ever since then I've ordered every cake I've ever needed from here. They have multiple flavors of tres leches cakes and add fresh fruit or custard as fillings. The cake is absolutely delicious. As soon as you walk in you can smell that delectable scent of cake!!! I cannot rave more about this place. For my son's 1st birthday, I had a puppy theme and brought in a picture of a cake I saw online; which looked like a giant pawprint; and they made it exactly the way it looked in the picture at a reasonable price. The baker also let me coose different flavors of cake. The best is the white tres leches with fresh strawberries. I also once ordered a full sheet of white tres leches, half filled with fresh strawberries, the other with peaches. The cake was huge and I had no leftovers - my guest devoured the entire cake! You can also walk into the place and come out with individual slices of cake, which are large enough to feed 2-3 people. They have even made a cake in a couple hours notice for my family. I heard how good Mex. cakes are, looked up any near by and found this spot. I bugged my mom for weeks to stop for a piece after school since i'm done at the collage @ 1. This morning as we were talking taking the freshness of the morning air. My girlfriend and I looked into a window, not knowing that we were going to be invited in and the introduction of what a good cake should taste. I being a major critic and had a business myself was taking in by the cleanness of the bakery. The floors sprinkled and the shelfs were radiant. The shop reminded me of the shops in Solvang Ca. The customer service was inviting as through we were taking in a Willie Wonka chocolate factory tour. The greeter had a great smile and by the glimmer of his eyes you can see that he love what he was doing and believed in his product. Then the big surprise just like Willie Wonka workers would say " Umpa Umpa Umpa dadee would you care to try one of dadees"?
