Take serious stock in the comments that discuss Patchogue Family Medical Care's poor customer service, it's virtually impossible to get a live person on the telephone. I've been trying to get my prescriptions renewed for five days now and nobody returns my call. Their answering service will not relay any messages because my need of medication "is not a medical emergency". I tried the patient portal but that crashed too. The doctors are excellent but the office is run unapologetically appallingly, take care of yourself and find another family medical center. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Doucet for almost 20 yrs. I have seen her and I have seen all her PAs and drs there. Not once was i disappointed. I get the best care I ever had. Even on weekends; If i put a question in the portal, i get a quick response. I cant believe anyone ever had a bad experience here. You never wait long; a few minutes. The girls behind the desk are awesome. Everybody works together. The office is clean, the care is genuine and the people there are concerned with your health. I've been coming here for about 14 years. I have seen a doctor, and two different PAs regularly over the course of this time. I have enjoyed my interactions with all three. Sam is a really nice guy who's very easy to talk to and doesn't make you feel like you are being rushed like so many other doctors do. He has a great bedside manner and is a good listener as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to see a great team. They are great in taking me when I am not feeling well and at filling medications. read more

I have been a patient here for over 20 years. The office staff are wonderful, Lyndie, PA has treated me the most over the course of the last 5 years. She is thoughtful, patient and thorough. I could not ask for better treatment and kindness. Recently ran into the office with my lungs closing up on me. The desk moved me quickly to a nurse, into an exam room and I was being treated immediately to resolve a critical health problem. Fast, courteous and loving office. This place if awful. at listening, at prescribing, at giving your paperwork back, at issuing your prescription to the location you give them, and awful at calling you back. Their voicemail says "we will call you back within the hour," hold your breath, because eventually you'll pass out and then at least you won't have to go through all the aggravation of dealing with them. read more

My daughters both use this office and suggested I switch to here after a few issues with my former GP. Since starting with this practice, I have seen one doctor and one PA and while I thought the doctor was wonderful, the fantastic and warm PA named Sam is who I have settled with. The office is lovely and the staff members I have dealt with are all kind and helpful. The forms to fill out were minimal (great!) and the patient's portal has come in handy on several occasions. When making my follow up appointment on the way out of my last visit, I overheard one woman telling someone on the phone that they should come in the side door. (asked & they tell anyone that may have the flu to do that - smart!) Now...I did have to wait a bit on a returned phone call once, but as it was just once I can write that off to a busy day. All in all, I think the choice to switch doctors was quite a good one. read more

Can't say enough about this office. I can compliment the doctors but it's the support staff that really makes this a great office. I've been to far too many offices where the staff is either completely disinterested or dull as dishwater but not here. Great group of ladies that really seem to care about the patients. Makes the drudgery of a doctors appointment bearable. Glad to have started coming here and even more glad that I convinced many of my friends. read more

My daughter and I have been patients in this practice for a few years. Used to get an appointment for an illness on the same day. A couple of weeks ago I had a UTI , called on Thursday and couldn't get in till Saturday. My daughter has a bug bite that is infected and she couldn't get in either. I'll be looking for a new Doctor. read more

I've never experienced a doctor's office charging to administer a vaccine, but this is exactly what this office does.. I paid $213.00 for a vaccine and the office charged $53.00 to administer it. Why are they charging to administer the shot? That's my question read more

Avoid this office like the plague... It took over a week to get the results back from my x-rays and to pick up my prescriptions after leaving numerous messages. As others have mentioned, it's near impossible to get a live person on the phone. I just now found out that they booked an appointment without my consent while I was on vacation and received a $40 bill for a "no show" fee. I didn't need nor request a follow-up appointment, especially during a time that I knew I was traveling. read more

I've been a patient here for about a year now. I moved out to the area a couple of years ago and was looking for a good doctor office. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this office. The staff has always been friendly and kind. The waiting room is very clean and welcoming, but more importantly, I have never had to spend too much time actually waiting. I've seen all of the doctors/PA's and they are all great. Sam, one of the PA's, is very pleasant and has a great bedside manner. He is knowledgeable and takes the time to answer questions and it never feels like he is rushing me out of there. I would recommend this office to anyone. read more

I have been going to Dr. Doucet at PFMC for over 12 years and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She is so patient, warm, caring, and it only takes one visit with her for you to get the right meds and get well fast. She is very down-to-earth and she listens carefully to your concerns. I love this practice! I've been a patient there for more than a few years and with few exceptions, you aren't in the waiting room long, The new computer portal thing is fabulous, makes refills a breeze even for the less-computer literate, like me. Dr. Doucet is a love, who spends plenty of time talking with me each visit, and on the occasion that I've called that morning for an appointment for a sore throat or something, the PA's & other doctors have been great. With the short waits, I would imagine it would be necessary to take the co-pay quickly. I would totally give them 5 stars if they answered the phone. I started seeing them a few years ago and they are a really great doctors office. Again, if they ever answer the phone. I have never waited longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room which is great. I have called on several occasions and they dont answer the phone and I end up having to keep trying and trying and trying. While they have answered when I needed them asap its the times that they haven't that worry me. Worth a try though read more

I never review anything on yelp, but I felt it was necessary for others to know what to expect when you go here. When you're a patient you will be seen by incredible doctors who know their stuff, if and when you're seen. I have not been to this office since December 2014, not by choice and not because I haven't been sick, but because they expect you to know ahead of time that you will be. I really should have planned on waking up with bronchitis today so that I could have scheduled my appointment in advance, my mistake. My mom should have known she was getting a UTI days ahead of time so that she could actually be seen. Unfortunately, I have found myself adding $15 to my normal $35 co-pay to be treated by walk-in clinics, because even calling at 9 am isn't early enough to be seen at some time during the day. That is if they even answer their appointment line, but don't expect them to. I called 3 times in a span of 40 minutes and never spoke with a person. I left a message, and never received a call in return. In December 2014 I was seen within 3 hours because I called with excruciating pains in my side, maybe that's the trick. Lie. If you're a patient here, pretend you're in the worst pain of your life so that they have to give you an appointment within hours. But, if you have pink eye, bronchitis, strep throat, a sinus infection, or a UTI, make sure you know ahead of time that you're going to be sick, otherwise you will find yourself appointmentless, and now like me, without a PCP. Thank you Patchogue Family Medical for have phenomenal doctors, I wish I actually could have seen them. Now, my mom and I will finding a new doctor. read more

The Doctors, PA's and staff are fantastic. I always leave feeing that I got the best care and advice. Unlike other places, they generally run right on time. Been there dozens of times and its unusual to wait more that a 5 minutes if that. What a concept - appointments that are kept! The follow up by the staff, referrals, refills, etc. is awsome - you never have to ask twice. I highly recomend this office. read more

I have been a patient for over 10 years and used to see Dr. Doucet - who was excellent. Over the last few years I can only get appointments with their PA's - which is normally fine for a common cold or checkup. However I have now been sick for over 2 weeks, have visited their office twice in those 2 weeks, and was given multiple prescriptions. Today, after finishing the prescription and feeling no different than I did 2 weeks ago, I ended up going to a Stat Health as a last resort. There, they actually checked for Strep Throat - in fact, they asked, "What were the results of your Strep test?" And I had to say, "My Doctor didn't test for Strep..." They also took blood because their immediate reaction to my ongoing symptoms was, "You most likely have mono." How is it possible that I took 2 trips to my doctors office, that I have been going to for 12 years, with the same persistent symptoms, and they didn't even think to check for something as simple as Strep Throat? Instead, a doctor that I have never met before at Stat Health listened to my entire two-week saga and was able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with me. My advice to Patchogue Family Medical - stop assuming your patients are all coming in with the same thing that's "going around," and sending them on their way with some antibiotics to make them "feel better." It's sad to see what was once a very helpful and friendly practice, turn into a place that doesn't listen to their patients symptoms. read more

You are barely in the door and they're collecting co-pays. Dr. Gil was nice. She cares about her patients. Billing is terrible, they say things to you verbally. They send collection agencies after you and their lawyers to established patients for any dispute you have in their "inept" billing department. Their care is good, their billing, and collection practices tell me they've hired some terrible labor in the past, they're in a serious mess now, they've expanded their hours which means there are cash flow issues here. A lot better medical practices in the area for sure. Patchogue is loaded with choices. Drive by this one. Professional ethics should be a requirement for whomever they're hiring.
