A month ago I was battling pneumonia and bronchitis,. I had some wheezing, horrible painful, cough, I was absolutely drained and some mucus as well. It just happened to be I had the same doctor on this day that I did two years ago. This doctor diagnosed properly 2 yrs ago and this day as well. He gave me prednisone as well as Doxy Clyde hydrate. This medicine worked to some degree this time around, however, I did not see an improvement throughout the night and could not sleep in any way shape or form because of hearing the wheezing in my lungs. I decided to use the remaining albuterol prior to going to sleep at night. This is what brought healing to my lungs In the long run. This albuterol was prescribed to me "last year". I did need albuterol to get rid of the wheezing. I do want to make a note. The nurse that took my vitals did not have good bedside manners was not very pleasant. read more

I love this location. I have been going there since 2017 and they are amazing. I have been treated there for a major car accident , pneumonia, health card for driving commercial vehicles, family emergencies, basically everything . Very fast very professional, and nice . Highly recommended professional medical location . I am sure there is some bad reviews, but I have nothing but great things to say about staff from check in to nurses to doctors! read more

You treated like nothing more than a robot. Name number social security number, blood pressure and then into a room where you wait and nobody comes for you for 20 minutes. He had me diagnosed before even seeing me, and made me feel like I was just being a crazy woman. Sick of doctors with God complexes and will not return. Longest wait of my life. Waited in waiting room for 2 hours only to wait another 45minutes in the patients room with my daughter. They're real quick to take your money before even being seen. Patient First (Pottstown, PA) always as provided excellent service during my visits at their facility. The staff is always pleasant and understanding to my concerns. My only complaint is the waiting time to be seen by an MD/PA. During all visits I have always had to wait AT LEAST 20 minutes before I am seen by an MD/PA. After taking my vital signs I am placed in a booth/room to be seen by an MD/PA......and that's where the disconnect is....waiting in an empty room for 20 minutes should not be happening! I'm beyond angry with this horrible, irresponsible facility! I live in Michigan and my elderly parents live in the Pottstown area. My mother, clearly has Flu symptoms and could very likely have Covid-19 . She waited in a waiting area with others for 2 hours! She is 80, she has symptoms and has other health problems INCLUDING an auto immune issue. They refused to give her a PCR Rapid test. Now she has to wait 4 to 7 days for results, when she could be treated immediately, if she tested positive. Do NoT consider getting your health care here. You just may leave sicker than you arrived. read more

The person taking information put in the wrong code for billing. Because of this, my insurance will not pay for the visit. My deductible was met and the full amount would have been paid by the insurance company. Called the billing number and was put on hold for 45 minutes with no answer. Tried to call the Pottstown Patient First also and was once again put on hold. I am receiving bills every month with an additional charge. They are threatening to send bill to a collection agency. I talked to my insurance company and was told that until they put in the correct code they are unable to pay the bill. The last bill I received, I addressed my need for them to submit a new bill to the insurance company with the correct code. Still no response from Patient First. I will NEVER go to Patient First again because of the incompetent employees. read more

I've been using this fairly for years. It's always clean. Front staff are always professional and courteous. Medical assistants are friendly. Most of the doctors are great. Out if all the times I've been, I've had one dr who was a little more abrupt than others but over all they do a good job. Of course sometimes to wait longer than others. That's just the way it is. Covid testing alert! Going there is a super spreader event! This was not what I expected. I went to Patient First in Downingtown for a covid test in September and I was able to schedule ahead of time and stay in my car. Those days are over?!? Now you just walk in with all the other sick people and wait in the waiting room to get "registered". I spent 1.5 hours waiting to get registered, then I was told I could now wait in my car and they would text me when they were ready to go back! What!??! A little too late. Already exposed. I was sooooo mad but didn't walk out because I was so invested at that point. I waited another hour to get called back and was given a covid test but be forewarned they will not automatically test you. THEY will decide based on symptoms if they will test you. Finally, I was told to wait still. No reason given. I flagged someone and asked why I was still waiting and was told I needed to see the doctor who still had a few people ahead of me. I didn't need to see a doctor but they said I had to. I asked if they would not submit my covid test to the lab if I walked out. No answer. I walked out anyway. Pretty fed up at that point. I need to find where to go for a covid test in the future. This is NOT it. My test ended up being negative but now I am worried about the 3 hours I spent there last Thursday. REFUSED MY 6 YEAR OLD SONS RIGHT TO HEALTHCARE! 12/19/2021 After waiting nearly three hours to have my sick child, with asthma, whom was displaying labored breathing, and being visually seen(with coffee) by SEVERAL employees, including the one who picked a fight with me. I was asked to discard an iced coffee I had with me. After being met with hostility and threats to 'place' me in my vehicle, in front of my child, I wanted to see evident proof of this policy, that they do not allow only 'outside' beverages in the building. Upon asking why they allowed people to use cups and water(from the germ infested water fountain) vs the iced coffee I brought into the building. None were given. Upon stating I was not the sick patient, and that I have received ALL THREE of my covid vaccinations and was properly social distanced in all directions from others. None was given. My son was the NEXT person to be seen. This was a clear ploy to lessen the people whom were in the waiting room. It was done incorrectly and unprofessionally. This behind the computer 'healthcare' worker thought I would be an easy target and chose to take her frustrations out on a customer, and she picked the wrong person. There was absolutely no logical reason they could give me as to why I couldn't have a drink in the building. Could I have thrown it away? Sure. However after being threaten three times, and met with three woman, as if they were security guard's and were going to 'place' me in my car. I chose to stand up for my rights to these clearly misinformed ignorant, yes overworked yet lazy and incapable staff. I will be filing a complaint with corporate. And posting several reviews on any and every patient first site I can find. Including the BBB. read more

2 hrs for a COVID rapid test?! 2 hours!! This is a quick test that's become super standard. If it wasn't Sunday I'd have had my pick of 15 min drive thru spots but made the mistake of coming here (because it was close by) instead of going absolutely anywhere else. And then they wont let you leave until the results come back... is that even allowed? My son went to Patient First and came back still sick. He said they were rude and miserable with him. It was on December 30th. They did bloodwork but did not do a chest X-ray and sent him home without any medication. We are now at Tower Health urgent care on New Year's Eve and he just got an X-ray. In the midst of Covid pandemic and some employees were not wearing masks or had them pulled down. Makes me worry how seriously they take cleanliness and sterile conditions. I took my daughter Jan 2020 for being sick, and initially we could not receive service without paying the previous balance. I advised the check in clerk to use the same card charged for previous balance, to the charges accrued that day. The doctor pretty much diagnosed my daughter with the flu but to officially confirm she was swabbed. I didn't hear anything further after that day and no charges were taken. Two years later I see on my credit, collection charge from patient first $242. I call to confirm accuracy of the charge to hear the original charge was $175, for a swab...smh. I have moved since that visit but my mail was setup to be forwarded. I didn't receive anything for charges but I have collection charges? I will NEVER EVER go back to patient first. I am completely appalled at the way we have been treated this past week. We went for COVID testing on July 8th and 17 days later we still do not have results. Their website was updated AFTER we got our test to indicate that results could take up to 12-15 days. We tried today to get a status update to understand their process. First no one could tell us which lab was performing the testing, then we got that Answer (we think) but no idea as to when we could expect results. We wanted to know if it was possible for the samples to be out of stability by this point but instead of answering we were hung up on and told don't know what you want from us basically? How about some compassion! I have a special needs son whom we have been quarantining from and an elderly mom I've not been able to get to and she's been sick and in the hospital and I'm her primary caretaker and can't help until I get these results back. Yes we are lucky and feeling better but hospitals don't want you in until you have results! All we wanted was for someone to help us track results? How can you not track results? I work for a big pharma company and we track and no where our samples are! read more

Their website states Patient First provides Primary care for persons without a family Dr. We need a form from DMV filled out by our primary care Dr per DMV instructions We don't have a family Dr and use Patient First as our primary care provider, which according to the website is one of the things they provide for patients who need help but have nowhere else to turn We just got back from being turned away from Patient First, for a service that a primary provider performs In fact the director of physicians there said we need to go to our primary care provider. That happens to be Patient First The Dr never saw us to ask us about our need, so we were denied primary care. No suggestions as to who to turn to, just denied primary care as the website and even the sign outside says primary care My Son is in depression because of the lack of care, and were at a dead end. We were told Patient First doesn't have his medical history, but if we have no family Dr, where is any medical history? Patient First has limited history because my Son never gets sick. BUT, I guarantee he has a Patient file (a history,albeit small) but it is a history. I have had the worst experiences here at the Pottstown Patient First. In no way shape or form do they meet HIPAA regulations, nor do they care about their patients as their name suggests. I have never been in another establishment where the staff was as rude and as careless as this one was. I was told to file a formal complaint about this facility with the state of Pennsylvania if I do not hear back from Corporate about these issues within 24 hours. I have used Patient First several times for myself & children. The staff & doctors are quick to remedy your illness & pain. I really like the fact of the in house pharmacy. It's very helpful especially when you are not feeling well and definitely not able to make an additional stop. Additionally, The nurses are quick to create excuse notes or needed documentation. Honestly I would give them a zero if I could. I was here for my son who was in an accident falling off of his bicycle. He hit his head his face his elbow his arm and his foot. The x-ray tech came in and didn't wanna do the x-ray of the elbow or the wrist so she only did the forearm. The doctor came in and then re-ordered the elbow to wrist and his jaw. I could hear her in the hallway complaining that she has to do anx-ray of the jaw. and she doesn't want to. She clearly doesn't like her job. She says how in the hell do I have to do this jaw X-ray at the end of my day. I just want to go home. Well then get a new job. read more

Ok so I'm sitting in a room here on 12/22/16 at 6:30 pm listening to the Dr or the PA or whatever she is , dictating on ALL her patients. Every single word including first and last names. HUGE HIPPA violation. Omg . I would be horrified if she dictated on me and everyone can hear. Please tell her not to do that. You need a room where she can dictate privately. I went to Patient First on 9/5/16 and was diagnosed with Bronchitus. I was given a chest Xray as expected. Sadly I was given a script for a high dose of Prednisone and was not instructed to wean off of it slowly. It also interacted with another medication I was taking. When brought to the attention of the Medical Director for the Dr, she insisted that my experience did not warrant a change in procedures. Hundreds of articles on the internet describing the horrible interaction I had but Patient First refuses to change. My concerns were dismissed. I tried to prevent someone else going through the horrible experience I had.. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Patient First! The Dr I saw was inexperienced. The pharmacy failed to catch a serious drug interaction. The Medical Director refused to take my concerns seriously. read more

I went to Patient First on June 9th after a fall. They are the most professional and caring people. After a set of x-rays it was determined I had a fracture. After putting me in a splint and an arm sling, I was given a script that they filled on the premise at a very reasonable price. Told me who my insurance would cover for further treatment, sent me home with the x-rays and a report and I was out in exactly one hour. Thank you to all the team there! read more

Very disappointed!!! Took my son Monday 10/28 due to blood in his urine (pediatrician was closed), dip came back that he had high levels of protein and blood. Jarrod Brendlinger P.A. advised that the urine will be sent for culture because it is very uncommon for boys to have UTIs (which he said he wasn't sure if that was it but he was going to treat him for it while we wait for the cultures) I was not at all confident with him so I immediately called the after hours line for his doctor and got an appointment yesterday the 29th. His doctor really wanted to see what the cultures looked like because of kidney disease history. I called today and wouldn't you know, this provider who was not confident with what was going on with my son NEVER SENT FOR THE CULTURE!!!!!!! Seriously not sure how people keep their jobs, I will NEVER use this facility again. It's incredibly mind blowing!!!! read more

My husband went to our primary care doctor for the same illness I had (bronchitis). I couldn't get an appointment with the primary care doctor so I went to Patient First. The Patient First doctor prescribed me medicine that took care of my illness and I was well within 3 days. My husband's illness lingered on and he wasn't feeling better at all. Turns out the primary care physician prescribed my husband an antibiotic that has little effectiveness in our geographic area. My husband went back to the primary care doctor who then prescribed the antibiotic that the Patient First doctor prescribed to me, and my husband finally got better. Very welcoming, friendly, neat and clean facility. Staff was professional and I didn't feel rushed to explain my symptoms. I had the pleasure of having Dr. McLaughlin as the physician who examined me. He had a wonderful bedside manner and really took the time to assess and listen to my concerns. He is totally meant for this profession! Patient First is lucky to have him and all the staff I had contact with on 6/13/17. I have been in the healthcare field for a number of years and can honestly say that Patient First by far is doing it right! Excellent client services with professional staff!! Keep up the great care you are giving and hiring the perfect staff!!
