We watched the sales person take the schematic to her onsite design consultants and she informed us that it yes it would fit. We purchased the table and 8 chairs totalling $24,000. We paid half down for the deposit. When we took possession of our condo we learned that our dream table would be too big for the space. We shared our issue with Gingerjar and after several failed attempts to solve our problem with the sales associate my husband met with the owner. The owner told my husband that we would be charged a 25% restocking fee (as per their website) then have a credit for approx $7,000 in their store. We selected an outdoor chaise costing approx $8,000.00 and we were prepared to pay the small difference. My husband attempted to purchase this item and then Gingerjar changed their story and now said that we were expected to purchase another $24,000. In order to receive the $7,000.00. They held us to the contract and forced us to forfeit over $13k to them. At no point were we ever looking for a full refund, we simply needed an alternative table and they were not interested. We actually needed to furnish our entire new luxury condo and they didn't make any other suggestions. A complete missed business opportunity. Specifically, this piece had a noticeably misaligned door which according to a comment overheard from their warehouse personnel and in opposition to what we were led to believe during the time of sale, they knew could not be adjusted. Besides the unsightly misalignment, that door will also not stay closed. Now for the details. We purchased this sideboard at a discount as part of Ginger Jar's current moving sale. One door was notably misaligned, which we pointed out and requested to be remedied prior to finalizing the purchase. The salesperson responded that we could adjust the door. Thus, we were led to understand that this misalignment could be fixed through typical hinge adjustment. We furthermore asked that the door be adjusted prior to delivery. The response was that the warehouse staff were too busy, but they would make the request. When the piece was delivered the door was still misaligned, but the delivery person agreed to adjust the doors but was unable to do so. He called the warehouse for guidance and was told that the misalignment was a known defect for this piece, and the doors could not be adjusted. Clearly a completely different fact and in direct opposition from what we were told prior to finalizing the purchase. Had this been properly and openly disclosed upon our inquiry about the door misalignment we would not have purchased the sideboard, no matter what the discount. After delivery and when we learned that the door could not be adjusted, we called the salesperson to describe this breach of contract and discuss a possible remedy. Her response was it was sold as-is and they had the signed paperwork that indicated our agreement. There was zero indication that the salesperson recognized that the condition of the piece and the ability to make adjustments had been absolutely misrepresented. We requested to speak with the manager. The response was that they are too busy with the move and do not have time. A separate phone call was made to the manager and a message left to discuss this matter. We are not holding our breath that any reasonable resolution will be the outcome. We have purchased several pieces over the years from OMG, will we buy from OMG or Ginger Jar in the future? No. Will we recommend Ginger Jar to friends or decorators we work with? No.

We got a new mattress, which seems good and a decent buy. Time will tell. Then we bought a used sleeper sofa. I should have known better. We saw one in the showroom and it looked used, but decent. Used is to be expected for the price. The one that was delivered is really so far worn as to be a really poor deal even at $250. I tried giving it a clean with some upholstery cleaner and while it's better, it still looks very worn. The worst part is the sleeper mechanism seems to be on its last legs and doesn't close properly leaving a gap under the seat no matter what we do. The mattress looks clean, but is incredibly lumpy. I regret buying this thing. Although close examination in the showroom seems like an obvious solution, it's nearly impossible because everything is jam packed and many things are stored in duplicate at the warehouse, so even if you look at the one in the showroom, it may not be the one you get. Getting it back out of our apartment is going to be really difficult. On the bright side the delivery people were excellent and did a great job getting this beast in. And the people at the store were very nice and tried to be helpful. I just wish I'd stuck to my gut that $250 for a sleeper sofa, even surplus, is too good to be true. With no returns and all sales final, I am feeling sad tonight. For casegoods and small items like lamps, I'd shop there again, but I would beware of upholstered goods, particularly with working mechanisms like sleeper sofas unless you can sit on and examine the actual one you will receive.

They also sell non-Canadian made furniture as well but without customizations. There is no pressure to buy in the store and Irina is super knowledgeable and helpful. You're allowed to sit on all the couches for as long as you want. We went in wanting a Canadian-made couch but none of the ones we sat on we liked. We decided to go with a non-Canadian made sofa called "Kendra." However, when we received it, the tag said Ashley Furniture. We looked up the couch and it turns out it is indeed Ashley's "Kennewick" sofa which sells for $300 less than Pallucci. That is when we found out Pallucci sells other furniture stores' couches with increased pricing and a name change. That was very deceiving and disappointing. What is even worse is that Pallucci only gives a 1 year warranty on the couches that are not Canadian made. However, Ashley furniture (where the couch is from) gives a 3 year warranty. Pallucci has all their deliveries go through Marble Moving. I am not sure what kind of information Pallucci has given but Marble had the wrong couch and the wrong delivery date in their system. They also rarely take calls so we spent several days calling them just to clarify things. However, the movers themselves were nice and careful. If you are wanting Canadian-made then you may want to give this store a try. Otherwise, please do a reverse google image search on all of their couches. Chances are you can find it elsewhere for cheaper. On the plus side, there is free parking in the back. ---Aug 20 2023 Edit-- The owner is very nice and wanted to make amends for what happened. I was refunded the difference between Pallucci's price and Ashley's price. He told me that although they don't hide that they sell other furniture stores' furniture, and they will only tell you where it is from if you ask. He only buys the ones that he knows are good quality. He clarified that they will do price matching on items that are still in stock in the other furniture's website. I have changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars because the Owner has admitted the misunderstanding and wanted to correct it. I think an improvement is to be more open about where the furniture is from. Having it in the price tag of the product would be good. I had really assumed that Pallucci was selling Pallucci-made Furniture and I think many people also think as I do - even when I look at used furniture on Craiglist/Marketplace, people write "couch from Pallucci".
