I didn't have my portion (deductible) today and they would not bill me. That's fine, but she (Stephanie) was rude about it. There's no reason for that. If it was the policy, she would have never called billing and spoke about me in my face as though I wasn't there. But thankfully, I don't go low. I left without being seen but I also didn't reschedule because anywhere that doesn't care about me as a person can't care about my health. It doesn't matter to them, I'm sure, but they still lost a patient today. I've been going there since 2016! But today ended that "relationship." I'll find somewhere that still treats people like people.

They like to call you 1-2 hr before your appointment to cancel it, they are so dramatic and don't know how to keep their personal business at home instead of bringing it to work. Stephanie Gunn like to tell you about her husband cheating on her and his mistress keying up her car. So if you go to her, you better be careful because you may get attack by someone you don't know because of their personal drama in my opinion. Now the facts are I have been lied to several times and have the message to prove it and the intelligence level that the medical assistant Nicole has is not up to part for her job duties. Than she like to disrespect you by saying smart remarks and when you say something back it's a problem. The office manager there don't really care and they will lie to you to keep you from writing complaints. I have even have the NP I was seeing sent me to have the wrong thing done, for the people at Lexington to tell me thats what I don't need and I need this. This place is awful , unprofessional, and to much of drama. It is my best opinion to never recommend anyone to go there . Exactly, why I told my mom if she die or something bad happens because of them, I will not help her because she choose to stay knowing about all of this that I speak of . When you got messages and audio proof. There is nothing no one can say . So they won't load my photos but hey just go to google. Even employees agree . There are so many negative to review on them, it's not hard to find. It's one on indeed empolyees and couple of them talking had bad the office is ran and how bad the so called professional like the nurse Practitioner is. I can't make this up if I tried

I have medical insurance. I don't have a co-pay, meaning I pay up to the deductible, and after…read morethat, the insurance company pays most of the bill. Typically the way it works for the past 40 years, is the doctor's office bills the insurance company, then they in turn bill me, until I meet my deductible. Since I could be seeing other medical specialists, the amount of my deductible can be changing from various payments to various sources. SC Internal Medicine Associates seems to think that they are the only source of payments to my deductible. And so ask me if I've met my deductible yet, and if not, demand payment up front for each office visit. From their perspective, it's nice to have the money up front. But this is not how ALL of my doctor's offices have treated me beforehand. And I cannot guarantee that at that exact point in time, whether I've met my deductible. So, I found this practice to be greedy and self-serving. But I tolerated it. So, then I got a follow-up blood test and I got that order from the doctor, for which I had to pay the office visit up front, with the assumption my deductible was not met. I go down to the blood lab, they draw the blood, and they charge my insurance. I expect to get an insurance bill from this...exactly how it has worked all the other times. But then my results come in and my doctor wants me to come to him to get the results. It's a simple test for a very common ailment. One test. One number result. And every lab result I've ever seen shows you the range of low to high and tells you directly if your result is out of tolerance. But guess what, to come in, I have to pay, yes, the office visit again! Double dipping! No, those results are MY PROPERTY. They must hand them over to me. I agree if the doctor wanted to give me his analysis of the results, I'd pay for that. But if I just want the results, then I don't expect the counter clerk to tell me I HAVE TO COME IN AND SEE THE DOCTOR TO GET THE RESULTS THAT I PAID FOR. Now, that I have a cooler head, I don't think it was my doctor's fault, this entire mess. Unless he's the owner of SC Internal Medicine Associates. I thinks it's SC Internal Medicine Associates. They set the policies. They bring in doctor's to work at their "company". And then they institute these greedy, self-serving policies to ensure they get paid up front. And if they're wrong, I can only assume they'll give you a refund...but I wonder if they would be as upfront about that. And then when they tell you that you have to come in to see the doctor, they pretend they are the doctor, and say, oh, it's the DOCTOR'S POLICY. Hmm, I don't think so. I think it's this company's policy. Now, the doctor has blame in that he chooses to be associated with this company that behaves in this manner. But all in all, I wouldn't use this company or any of its doctors because of its policies designed to ensure they get paid their money up front, and let YOU figure out if you were fairly charged later.

I have been seeing the physicians at SC Internal Medicine for approximately 7 or 8 years. I pay…read morecash for my visits. I recently went and got cortisone injections in my knees by one of the PA's there and it helped tremendously! However, when I called and scheduled my next appointment for 3 months later, I was asked who I saw and I told them that I started out with one person, she went on maternity leave, and I was switched to someone else and never switched back, so they scheduled me with the original PA, not even an MD. When I got there, one of office staff checked with her about my cash price and she told them it would be nearly double what I paid 3 months prior. She didn't even do the cortisone injections that the appointment was specifically scheduled for. So I paid double for the following: a nurse to take my blood pressure and tell me it was high, the PA came in and rechecked it and said it was still a little high, therefore she gave me a prescription for Lisinopril. She also gave me a prescription for Drysol Antiperspirant. That's it. So she doubled the cost of my office visits for just this. I took the Lisinopril for 2 days and both nights I work up between 2 and 3 a.m with the most extreme headache I had ever had. I called over the weekend and was told to discontinue use (I'm sure I will be charged for this phone call). Eventually they called in another prescription today, Thursday, with the exact same exact side effects. Glad I researched the medication prior to paying for it to be filled because they obviously didn't. I was called today about it and I told them it had the same side effects and that I wasn't going to pay for it and take it to be miserable again. I also called to scheduled my knee injections that she would not do while I was there and requested the previous PA that the office visit was lower. I was informed that my office visit charge had been permanently increased to double what I was initially paying no matter which PA I saw. I have paid them in cash for the past 7 to 8 years, they did basically nothing during the appointment I scheduled and now I'm going to have to pay more than what I've been paying in the past in addition to the amount that I paid for the appointment that nothing was done. I have called multiple providers and have found several of them to be less expensive than SC Internal Medicine and find their ratings and reviews to be exceptionally better that SC Internal Medicine. I have also found multiple providers that give more than a 20% discount for cash paying customers. I guess SC Internal Medicine would rather work with insurance companies that discount their services between 30 - 75% rather than get paid cash by a patient that has always paid their bills in full for 8 years. One Doctor's office offers 45% off for cash patients if the amount is paid at the time of the visit. And I actually get to see an MD instead of a physician's assistant. WOW!!! Which do you think I'm going to go with.

Both have the same name and are 6 miles apart. I found them through google. Unfortunately I went to the wrong address .... I went to the IRMO address. The wrong IRMO address. My appointment was at 8 am. I was 15 min early. So ..... when I went to sign in the lady at the desk told me I didn't have an appointment. I asked her ..."is this Lex Family Practice?" She said yes. I asked her is there another Lex Family Practice. She said NO. So confused I called the phone number I had when I made the appointment. But ... by that time .... it was 8 am and all calls were still being answered by the phone service. I waited 5 min ... call back. and still the phone service answered. So I started driving home. Frustrated and upset I finally was able to reach the Lex Family Practice in Irmo ... the Ballentine one. 10 min after 8. I asked the girl who answered the phone why didn't she tell me that there were 2 Lexington Family Practices in IRMO when I made the appointment. She told me that I was the first person that she knew of to make that mistake. I didn't make a mistake. I looked up on line a family practice that was close to my office. It gave me Lex Family Practices with the Ballentine phone number and directions to St. Andrews Rd. I WOULD AVOID BOTH PLACES. IF FIRST IMPRESSIONS MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU ... LOOK ELSEWHERE. THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL OFFICE. INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HELP THEY ONLY LOOK TO PLACE FAULT OR BLAME. I JUST WANTED A PHYSICAL.
