I highly recommend this company! I was out of town for the last snowfall so I needed some help. Jason came over the same day I called to give me an estimate. His price was by far the least expensive! He came out right away to plow and salt my walkway and driveway. Thanks to him, I was able to relax on my vacation. As soon as I got home, I signed up for a contract for the rest of the Winter. I do not recommend Patriot Landscaping LLC or Patriot Construction Professionals, both under the ownership of Jason Martel and is now based in Fostoria, MI July 18,2025 I gave Jason $2500 cash deposit for backyard landscaping. Work was to begin July 31 with completion date of September 1, 2025. Jason consistently failed to follow through on promised start dates, offered many excuses for not beginning work and twice was no call no show. During the entire month of August he only worked 2.5 hours. he brought a truck load of stones that day but decided not to put them down saying he would do the stones another day. Numerous texts were sent to him requesting a specific return date which when he finally answered he gave excuses (no help, health issues etc.). I reinforced that I wanted the project completed by Sept 1 as my entire backyard was dirt. Late evening on September 2 he texted me that his "foreman" would be out the next day to finish up. I never met this "foreman" and he was never at my house to look at the job. I told him my patience had worn out and I was canceling the job and wanted my deposit of $2300 refunded ($2500 - $200 for 2.5 hours work done). September 13 I received a text from Jason with a screen shot of his virtual doctor's appointment saying "bare with me". I told him I would meet him or his representative to pick up my refund as he lives a significant distance. I have not heard from him since . I had to hire another landscaper to complete the job which he did in 2-1/2 days. Demanded more money to finish what he was paid to do or he would put a contractors lien on my property. I filed a civil suit against him and he contacted me saying he was leaving the state and selling the business. Jason came out and looked at my property, quoted the job, we talked in detail about a simple leaf removal. I paid him in cash up front ($300). My house and lawn actually looked worse after he was done. When I asked him to fix it he told me he needed more money to complete the job and threatened to drop off the leaves back into my driveway. He left a large pile of leaves pushed from my yard onto the neighbor's property and pushed a large pile of leaves against my house. there were leaves on the ledge around my home that we not even there before I hired him. Do not hire this company. Very unprofessional. I am going to have to pay another company to come out and finish the job as he is refusing to fix it. read more

I give one star because Jason does return your call and text promptly. We had Jason come to our house and give us a quote for placing a large rock in our front yard. By the time he left he was quoting us for so much more then we really wanted. When I told him we were only interested in a few things he dropped us like a hot pancake! He expected half down in cash but didn't like the fact that before we gave him our money we wanted to make sure his company was equipped with the right equipment to move a large rock. He's an unprofessional contractor that talks out of both sides of his mouth when he needs work tells you what you want to hear then then does substandard work!. I'm not really sure how he gets work with the lousy way he does business. I was clear with him the scope of work I wanted and he said no problem. From the very first day which took weeks to get him there he would start the job leave and then come back when he felt like didn't respond to texts when he was a no show completely unprofessional.Used my water and my power left dirt on the neighbors lawn. Terrible company. Did all the pavers incorrectly, have to hire another company to fix what they did. They cut into main irrigation line , and knowingly left it. Had to pay $300 to get it fixed. Just horrible ! Would not recommend ... stay clear of this one! read more

I had no problem with Jason and his crew. He may have had some different experiences with customers two years ago, but the work I had done just within the last two weeks was very satisfactory. They installed a French drain system down the side of my property; put everything in neatly and ended up getting a fence job from my neighbor. I paid half down, and the rest on completion. I had a very good experience with Jason and his company. He is extremely hardworking and detail oriented. He works WITH his crew. It must feel good to have a boss who works just as hard as you. I got more than I asked for, that costed Jason his time and I do know how precious time is, he just went above and beyond. Professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I am planning on even bigger projects (this one was big enough, a week worth), I have seen his work he has done before and now I saw him in action, I will not hesitate to start next project. I think the bad reviews are from people who have no concept how hard it is to do landscape projects. They probably do not even have the concept on the amount of money just gasoline takes to drag all this equipment to site, working in the heat (or cold) etc. I love this company, it is the first time when I felt that my money went to a beautiful finished job. I hired Jason and his crew in the beginning of March of '19. We thought he seemed honest and had integrity. We were very wrong. He wrote out the first contract with us, required half down which we paid. I asked at that time if ya being two hours from him would be an issue. He swore he worked in my area a lot and it wouldn't be. I saw him a few more times at which point he required more n more money. We setup a second contract with him to do our fence and shed pad. Paid him in full around 13325 the end of March. Here we are in almost August and he tells me, after not finishing any one part of the job and messing up my privacy fence twice and it's still not right, that my money is gone and he's not finishing the job. What am I to do at this point. He dug post jokes for fence at wrong depth twice before finally getting it right. Refused to drive down here during rush hours so would get here around noon everyday and leave by 3 almost everytime then I had to pay inspector for two extra inspections cause he doesn't know the difference between required 42" (which I reminded him many times) and 24"-36". He sent two young guys out with mini shovels to dig up the ratwall and slab before finally sending two men who knew what they were doing. I have a tire up yard and nothing finished and now zero money. He claims he will give me a refund in the same sentence as I have no money in the bank and yours went on materials and labor. I provided the fence materials and post concrete. He brought me two pallets of pavers and some aggregate which costed him all of 600-700 if that. Guess I'm going to need a lawyer. DON'T HIRE HIM AND DON'T BELIEVE HIS LIES. You'll save yourself tons of money using anyone else and he always knows what to say to gain more money and more time to not do your job. read more
