He was right on with his estimate and showed up and got to work. We worked out with him ahead of time the design, the steps, the color, height, etc. If he had questions while working on it, we always discussed next steps to make sure there were no surprises. The biggest thing is John is on the job when work is being done and he doesn't sub it out to others. He and his team worked their butts off whenever they were on site. There were a few days in between, since forms need to be made, concrete has to cure, aggregate needed exposing and other activities. So the whole process took about 3 weeks, but we were never concerned that he wouldn't be back to do the next step. He kept us informed every step of the way. Plus - he just seems like an all around great guy, very personable and good workers on the job with him. Our patio is gorgeous, everyone loves it and so do we. We would hire him for any project if we needed work done again.

Although he got jobs mixed up some times, with telling me a product could only be ordered by a pallet but it wasn't our job. Every time we talked we had to go over what bricks I wanted even though he had it written down. The part that didn't go so well, we were doing a relocation of a drainage pipe to the front from the back. We all agreed to where it needed to go to for the water to runoff properly. Our fault for not having it exactly specified in feet on the quote, lesson learned. Day of, we learn that he stated it can't go that far, they can't dig that much and could only go part way. That is exactly what I didn't want for water to drain to my driveway so in the winter it would ice.

Significant fall-off in Diane's support and communication since that has led to a changed perspective. Dogwood tree was delivered and planted but the appropriate gravel was not installed. Did not return calls to correct. Resumed the effort the following year and was able then to get in the schedule. Later found that the Dogwood installed was the wrong coloring leaves, quite important for ascetics of the home that you are trying to achieve. Promised to trim our junipers as a service recovery effort but never did. Upon further trips to the home, their own employee asked who planted the three vertical maples and when I said it was their company he look surprised and asked why we thought they would be good to plant so closely to the house. Multiple surveyors later, it was consensus that the trees should be removed to avoid future concerns and damage to the home with growing roots. Despite bringing this to Diane's attention and asking for returned calls and support, they never came. For a company that charges what they do and appears to stand by their work, I was left out as an afterthought. Hired outside companies to remove the three trees for the rough costs of $800. You would think for investing in the amount of jobs we had that would be a modest cost to try and make right, apparently not. I blame most of the customer service for the review. The jobs are mostly done well, but better hope is done right, as the returned call for support is apparently not a guarantee. It took a lot of energy to remain patient and professional throughout, yet they did not reciprocate that effort in the end to make it right. This went from a positive experience to a negative experience in the span of 2 years. Open to seeing if things can still be repaired but I am done trying to get their support, they would need to pick up the phone.

We had a cash offer to close in a week and needed to address a few issues prior to closing. I reached out to Marvis on a short notice and he was able to accommodate all the fix and installation needed to sell the property. He installed for us a new furnace and also addressed multiple pipe leaks for us. His plumber actually missed a few leaks but what I really appreciate from Marvis was he took responsibility for this and sent the plumber out to address this without additional charges. Every crew member was courteous, neat, and hardworking, and the renovation was completed in 2- 1/2 of the estimated 3-4 months. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work done by all involved, and we now happily make daily use of a previously avoided space. More: I was the naysayer on this project and I was wrong. My husband wanted to renovate our dreary basement to give me more space for all my hobbies. We had finished the space 30 years ago on the (very) cheap: carpeted exercise room, a tiny office, a bathroom with a shower no one used, and a crammed unfinished laundry room that also contained a former coal bin lined with shelving. An unfinished cold storage room behind the office held old paint and garden supplies. The spaces were functional, but they were dingy, worn, uninviting, and, consequently, not often used. The laundry room was kind of creepy. I couldn't imagine that improving our small, low-ceilinged space would justify what remodels cost these days, but Ryan and Dana helped us see the possibilities. While keeping the price down, they created a large office/art/sewing room with two long built-in desks, each with wonderful deep drawers, and made the laundry/utility area more usable by dismantling the coal bin and painting the walls and floor. They upgraded the quality of the entire basement with a beautiful banister, vinyl wood flooring, better lighting, solid wood doors, and lovely bathroom fixtures. AND they added a window in the office for a bit of natural light. What a difference! We actually exercise in the exercise room, and the other spaces are just a delight. Now it feels more like a "lower level" than a basement. Greenleaf transformed our basement into a wonderful extension of our home's living areas. If that was the case, he could have told us that when we threw out the $7k. He could have provided some expertise and guidance when we initially said that we didn't know what it should cost. He could have called back or emailed us that he wasn't going to do any work for us. Basically, he could have done many things that are more professional than what he did.
