We came here for the first time for GoKarting for Father's Day and had a great time!…read more It is a bit of a loud environment but the tunes playing were enjoyable. Even though we signed waivers in advance there was a computer snafu and they had to redo them for our whole party making the check in a fairly long process. In general the communication/ process for getting ready and starting the GoKarting didn't feel super smooth as the passenger but you could tell the staff was organized and knew what they were doing. They were also super flexible when one round they accidentally had child settings on some of our karts and let us redo the round. The go karting was super fun and it was great that we got to do both tracks. Special shout out to manager David. We had dressed up as our dad from various eras for Father's Day and he loved our vibe so much he offered us a free round of virtual darts! The darts were fun although not as thrilling as the GoKarting, kinda similar vibe to bowling. Overall we had a great time go karting and staff was super pleasant and helpful, would recommend.

It was also really fun when they dropped off the apps with no plates or silverware, we had to ask & it was literally take out silverware. The actual throwing of the axes is fun if you want a glitchy game that's going to skip players on your team, not record points etc. Ambiance? Not it, you pay $10 a drink to sit in bright lights. Where we are sitting there's like a workshop area that looks unsafe for patrons & behind us is dents & scuffs in the wall. Also my male friends used the bathroom & lifted the seats & they were covered in feces Also OSHA would have a field day here. Where we were sitting I could reach a power drill & a torch. The wide variety of trails and the mileage of trails is why visit here more. Dog friendly and very relaxed leash policy. Trails are pretty well maintained. Very rocky and hilly. Lots of watering holes, but most are dried up toward the middle of season. Trails are marked via painted trail markers on trees or rocks. Maps are scarce so make sure to snap a pic of one before venturing. The yellow trail from start to finish is ~9 miles alone and most trails interlink with each other. Very easy to get lost if you don't know the park. Parking is free. I usually park on Mill st where the State Forest Fire department is located, but there's probably 10+ parking areas surrounding the park including one off route 1 near Gillette. Con: terrain is tough, especially if you want to run. Also easy to get lost. I can't stress this enough. Take a pic of the map before going in the park. 4/5 stars

MA Audubon's oldest wildlife preserve with over 2000 acres to explore. Ample parking and clearly marked trails made it easy to navigate. I didn't get a chance to stop in the center as the doors were locked, but the facilities look great for all Audubon does. I did forget my spray and like a novice hiker went on the vernal pool loop which had average level of bugs that accompanied me during the loop. Great place to stretch your legs, leashed pets were a no go here for planning purposes, but don't fret they are allowed at neighboring Moose Hill Farm.

I got interested in archery kind of by accident. When I was in middle school, we had a…read moreShakespearean festival, which included archery among other things. The bows they had were these cheap compounds (with the wheels) intended for children... which in fairness, we were. Well that, and one step up is five times the cost. At some point many years after, I found this place. I was excited to try my hands at archery once again. Even though this place is a little out of the way, I still venture out here when I want to have a go of being a sort of Robin Hood, only one who is not nearly as good of a shot. I. Cost - Their rates are extremely reasonable for what you get. Shooting on the range is $12/hour if you bring your own equipment, and only $14 to borrow theirs. This cost includes instruction too! This is not a private lesson, but they will help you along the way with stance, aim, draw, and other such basics. II. Staff - their staff are some of the nicest, most patient people I have met! Whether they are telling you the 1st time or 101st time to bring your hand to your ear, they are just as patient and calm. Also, during my time shooting, adjusting the draw weight (on the compound) as well as the sight to my ideal levels was a non issue. III. Range - The range is pretty nice! It is well lit, fairly spacious, and they have targets at two different distances, although, I couldn't tell you what they are. I can however tell that the shorter distance is great for beginners... not so far that it becomes discouraging, but close enough that it is fairly challenging. When you are shooting, do be careful of obstacles like pipes or columns... but if you stay in your lane, you should be fine. IV. Equipment - Out of the bows you are able to rent there are recurves (think Robin Hood) and Compound bows (with wheels). I am fond of the latter, but must say the Genesis bow (make of compound) is not my favorite thing in the world. The reason for this is (don't quote me on this) compounds have a let off in weight when fully drawn. The Genesis bows do not (at least not a very significant one). I will not penalize this place for that because these are fairly cheap (~$100), durable, easily adjustable, and according to online markets a great entry level bow for people of all ages. When it comes to equipment, think of it in parallel with bowling . If you are just there to bowl for a bit of fun, you have entry level equipment (balls, shoes) that are durable, and good for those who don't take the sport too seriously. Same thing here, the bows and arm-guards aren't spectacular, and there is no mechanical release provided. If you come to shoot for an hour for fun, you probably don't care that much. As for me, I'd like to keep it casual for now... but even if I end up taking archery more seriously, I will not hesitate at returning to this place to practice!

Finally got to race with rusty at South Sound Speedway in Rochester, Wa. Only negative was the…read moreregistration line which took almost 20 minutes to get to the front. After a 45 minute discussion about the cars and the track. I put on my racing gear (I brought my own). and headed over to the cars. The cars here were Late Models, which are somewhat different than cup cars but still fast. The cars were being used hourly so it was amazing that they were in pretty good shape. The only appearance of heavy useage was the steering wheel on my car was somewhat ragged. I got on the track and passed everyone. I wasn't afraid to floor it in the straights and I suspect this is the only place you can do this without buying your own car. Wish it could have lasted longer! LOL Great time!

Relaxing, quiet, and so many nice spots to enjoy the ponds, waterfall, spring noises of frogs, and foliage in the fall. I ride my bike or run or walk through regularly and enjoy it. I have also taken the kids to some of the mansion tours and the presentations about nature in the park building. Enjoyed those too.
