However, making…read moresure that a loved one has proper care is very close to my heart and it is currently a daily struggle. I have used Comfort Keepers for about two and a half years. The care, on average, has been decent to very good. I only had one person that I asked to leave and she was not one of our regular providers. The care is not my issue. My issue is that I rely upon scheduled care and, anymore, they call out. For several months, we have had 2 people cover weekends for us. Over the past 6 weeks, combined, they have called out a total of 5 days. On one occasion, the person called out right before shift, I asked for a replacement that took 2 hours to find, then the replacement was 40 minutes later than I was told. The process of trying to schedule and/or communicate with anyone who can help in the Sumter, SC office is downright painful. I really feel/hope that they are just going through some sort of transition period and I'm hoping they will get back on track, soon. In the meantime, be prepared for changes to plans...

I personally watched her withhold a good friend's last pay check after she quit the job for the terrible treatment she had been receiving. She did not notify her of changes made in terms of receiving paychecks, did not log her last pay period on the app, refused to mail or give the paycheck to a primary family member, then tried to lure her into a trap with the check and had police waiting on her over he say she say. She clearly had no intentions of handing over payment but instead hoped her ex employee would be arrested before receiving her payment. There have been plenty previous employees complaining about one thing or another concerning pay. It's so bad that even the clients know about it. I would strongly recommend finding a different care provider because this company completely lacks moral compass and integrity. If it had not been for the police officer there, my friend would have never got her paycheck. I could see the anger and disappointment in her eyes when the officer had a conversation with her outside and she had to come hand over the check on body-cam to avoid liability.
