SLOPPY CRAFTSMANSHIP, UNPROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION, AND UNRELIABLE…read more My husband and I were initially excited to find this local family business that claimed to be able to handle a wide array of jobs around the house. They are a husband-wife team. Ronney does the handyman work and Angela handles the admin side of things. I contacted them in early 10/2023 to move a light fixture, hang a barn door, and build two hatch doors to our basement crawl space. Initially Angela was very responsive, professional, and detail-oriented. The estimate she provided was fair. She asked for deposit of about half up front to purchase materials and we agreed that we would pay for the work in increments as it was completed. Angela said her husband could start work on the light within the next day, which he did. My mistake was in not confirming when the remaining items would be done. After this first visit, I received an email on a Friday morning with an invoice for a portion of the work that had just been completed. I noticed it while I was busy out driving my kids around and flagged it to pay over the weekend. By 5p that evening, I was receiving texts demanding that I "please advise" about an unpaid invoice. Though I found this pushiness odd and off putting, we had no problem paying for work that had been completed, and so I stopped what I was doing on Friday night and paid online. After this, I did not hear back for several weeks. I messaged to check in and let Angela know my availability. She responded with a strange, abrasive wall of text about how backed up they were, how she was facing serious health problems, how she had been clear with me that they were 6-8 weeks out (she had not), and how there were no refunds (I had not asked for one at this point). I let her know that it would have been helpful to know the timeline upfront, but as the repairs were not emergency items, we agreed her husband would come out 11/20 or 11/21 to finish (about 6 weeks after paid deposit). Communication after this went as follows: Multiple times, Angela scheduled for Ronney to come and he did not show. She gave excuses for this, citing medical issues ranging from neurosurgery to mold toxicity to blocked arteries. I received bizarre texts and emails from her demanding immediate responses at unprofessional hours - midnight, or waking me up at 7a on a Saturday morning. Throughout, the only apologies about missed appointments we received were passive aggressive comments insinuating that we were being impatient and uncompassionate when we asked when the items would be completed, for example, "I'm sorry my deathly health situation has caused you problems." When we asked if it was best for us to find someone else to complete the repairs due to their health issues, Angela was adamant that they do not give refunds. In general, we felt stuck using a business that created way more drama and chaos than we signed on for. We understand that unforeseen circumstances sometimes interfere with a business's ability to deliver what they promise. However, those circumstances become suspect when they repeatedly interfere with promised appointments. This is exacerbated when accompanied by unprofessional communication. The icing on top was when Ronney finally showed up to complete the work. It was sloppy, unfinished, and unprofessional (see attached pictures). We are now in the position of having to hire someone to clean up the mess in our basement. We would not use this business again and cannot recommend them to others.

To be fair, I was contacted by the owner of this company. He apologized profusely for not getting…read moreback to me and without going into much detail had a very reasonable excuse. My honest opinion, the owner was sincere in his apology. I always like to support small businesses and would hate to think that someone would be dissuaded from giving this company a chance because of my isolated experience. It was what it was and I'll chalk it up to bad timing. This company did come highly recommended by several of my neighbors so if you are on the fence about calling, please give them a chance. I have an idea your experience will be much better than my initial experience. Had I not already had the work done, I would have been willing to give Lasting Impressions the opportunity to give me a quote for my project.

The communication and scheduling were excellent, they arrived exactly when they said they would, and even called me an hour in advance to let me know they were on their way. Kyle and Thomas were very professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer my many questions. Powell's has also done major repair work on the septic systemwithin my community and they have done an outstanding job.

Came to home for free estimate. Great. Looked over and documented all small plumbing repairs…read moreneeded. Estimate due in couple of days. Now been three weeks of waiting. After calling, still waiting. If you did not want my work, which obviously do not, why not just be honest. I'd understand and move on to another vendor. At this point, angry, wasted my time from work to meet up with you. Disappointed that my repairs have not been started. I will move on and never use Powell's again and certainly never give a recommendation to anyone again like I have in the past. You've lost a customer and sure you don't care because I live a modest like in a modest home. Not good enough for you to service anymore. I wish Powell's well because this selective attitude will get out around the community over time.

Fair price and quality work cutting brick and block for basement egress window. Tavis finished the…read moreopening after cutting it so that all I had to do was put the window up and secure it. He went to the outside of the opening and helped me square and level the window and made sure the window opened and closed properly. Tavis even added a slanted edge for water to drain away from the bottom of the window. Super friendly and attentive to detail, Tavis is tops on my list of masons.
