It was a massive undertaking and I'm glad that I got a quote from Virginia Drainage and Erosion. I would definitely recommend them to at least come and give you a quote. The pricing is reasonable for my project.

The sales interaction set the tone with high‑pressure tactics, including statements like "this price is only available today." We moved forward anyway because we knew we wanted the work done. When I later asked to adjust the scope, the salesperson resisted for nearly ten minutes before agreeing to send a revised contract. The first crew delivered solid work on the drain line and concrete, but the vapor barrier installation was sloppy--uneven trimming, gaps, and inconsistent application. They also removed a board supporting the incoming water line without explanation, leaving it hanging from a wire and damaging the clamp. Their initial attempt to "fix" it involved taping the board to a pipe, which was not a proper or safe solution. The sump pump outlet was also installed in a way that caused the discharge pipe to partially block it, putting pressure on the plug. Communication was another major issue. I was never given a dedicated point of contact. I had to reach out to the salesperson again just to report problems. He forwarded my concerns to the office, and I was eventually contacted by Christal. She was professional and genuinely helpful, but her phone number repeatedly showed as disconnected, and only some text messages went through. I had to call the main line each time and ask to be routed to her. A week later, two crews returned and corrected the vapor barrier, repaired the board, and moved the outlet so it was no longer obstructed. The final work met expectations, but the overall experience involved unnecessary sales pressure, communication challenges, and multiple days off work for corrections and inspections.

My experience with JES Repair was frustrating and ultimately disappointing…read more The project itself was completed on schedule, but the quality and planning of the work left a lot to be desired. The beam repairs appear to have been completed in the easiest way possible, with little consideration for the work that would need to happen afterward. The crew cut the subfloor approximately three inches away from the walls and left it unsupported. As a result, my flooring contractor had to tear out two sections of flooring and replace the entire subfloor in those areas because the necessary repairs were never addressed during the original project. Even more frustrating, JES only opened a limited section of the floor instead of exposing the entire affected area. Once the flooring contractor had everything opened up, additional damaged wood was discovered that now requires even more repairs. Since JES was already working in that area, it is difficult to understand how these issues weren't identified or why the floor wasn't opened far enough to properly inspect the entire section. Addressing everything while the area was already exposed would have saved significant time, cost, and disruption. The inspection process was another major disappointment. The county inspection failed and was rescheduled without anyone from JES informing me ahead of time. I was then told that no one from JES would attend the reinspection and that it was between me and the county. As a homeowner, I'm not a contractor and shouldn't be expected to answer technical questions or represent the company's work to the building inspector. I hired JES expecting professional workmanship, thorough planning, and support through the entire process. Instead, I've been left coordinating additional repairs, paying for work that could have been avoided, and handling inspection issues that should have been managed by the contractor. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend JES Repair. UPDATE (07/08/2026): I connected with the resolution team and are working through the issues in a positive and constructive manner.

I get that you're trying to offer more services and all that but you're not an automotive repair shop and that's why people go through a quick oil change place like this... so you can get in and out without it being 90min ordeal. Contacted LUX Foundation Solutions for an estimate on foundation repair on our home. They sent a gentleman to our home within a few days and he inspected the issue, explained the process in full detail, took pictures, made drawings for the engineering team to digest and the company responded within 24 hours with an explanation of cost and schedule timeline. There was absolutely no pressure to use their service by anyone. They simply stated if you have any additional concerns or questions to give them a call. The repair work was scheduled which began and ended on time. The entire team was professional, courteous, respectful, and diligent to ensure the work was not only completed but that each day the work area was spotless before they left for the day. The men on the team were all bred from the same kind and hardworking stock. They are the type of people that made you feel that everything was in control and gave my wife and me the confidence that they were taking care of our problem for the longterm. We recently hired LUX Foundation Solutions to stabilize the foundation of our garage, which was sinking. Before we decided on LUX, we talked to representatives from 2 companies; both companies suggested the same plan of action to fix the problem. The representative from LUX was forthright about what could realistically be done in terms of lifting the garage and gave us some time to think about his proposal. The other company's representative assured us that his company could do much more, but he refused to put that into the contract ("They won't let me," he said). The other company was also asking for six or seven thousand dollars more, so our choice was clear. The workmen from LUX arrived on time, and they didn't bother us at all (no requests to use the bathroom or anything along those lines). We heard the jackhammering, of course, but other than that, the job was quiet. The foreman was always polite and ready to answer questions, and the crew always cleaned up at the end of the day (it was a 5-day job). I don't usually write reviews but when I come across something GREAT I have to share it with everyone! First off I want to say that Alex and the team were superb from the start to the finish. Alex came out in a timely fashion and right away identified the problem with our basement. Not only did he make a quick and sound assessment but he also identified other areas of concern. In doing so he was able to address the root cause of our problem and save us a ton of MONEY! Basement is dry so far and we have had quite a bit of water since the repairs were made. He phoned 1 hour ahead of our 10am appointment to confirm, he arrived timely, and was very polite. He wore a mask and properly practiced social distance which we appreciated. He performed a thorough examination of our exterior foundation taking particular note to the areas the real estate home inspector had noted. I bought my townhouse over 10 years ago. It had foundation and settling issues then and it had gotten so bad I was embarrassed to come home. Adam and Joseph came and blew foam into the open area under my steps and sealed the cracks with cement that matched the existing color of cement. They were very thorough and continuously checked their work. I felt they went above and beyond my expectations. I noticed water coming up through floor. Contacted Lux, Cy came, looked the problem over, explained what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. He was very nice and answered all my questions. Victor and his crew (can't remember all their names) were pleasant and did a great job. The job looks great and they cleaned up so well. I am very pleased. Karen, Nicole and Paul were very helpful and always so pleasant. It wasn't cheap, but for what they did and the warranties I received, I'm satisfied. Three years ago we interviewed Alex along with four other contractors. We choose him as he seemed to be the most knowledgeable. He knew exactly what the problem was. We had a water coming into our Florida room since the day we moved in and obviously the people who sold this house knew about it. It is now three years later and we have had no water. We just hired him again 7/18/18 to fix the foundation problem around the back and side as we got water in our garage. I can't say enough good things about this company. My 2,000 SF ranch style home was built years ago and the crawl space drainage system worked but was not anywhere near up to my standards. Lux Foundation Solutions worked diligently with me on a plan which resulted in a very reasonable proposal.
