That first meeting really stuck with me, and it made me feel good about choosing L&P Montessori for my son. Ms. Norma, Ms. Karima, and Ms. Ava have been amazing. They go out of their way to make every child feel comfortable and cared for. My son can be a handful; he's energetic, can be wild at times, and is very selective about the people. They have been nothing but patient and kind with him. I want to comment about Ms. Jackie because I recently saw a negative review about her, and it made me really sad to see what was written about her. It's tough to see something like that written about someone, knowing that words like those can really hurt a person's character and reputation. I've never seen any of the behaviors mentioned in the negative review but only kindness from Ms. Jackie, even the times I would drop off my son and didn't know I was there. She's always sweet and patient, especially with kids who are having a rough morning. My son is talkative and not afraid to speak his mind if something's wrong. If there was ever anything off, my son would be the first to tell me if Ms. Jackie was not nice. Even in the older kids' classrooms, the staff and teachers are friendly, nice, and acknowledges you during drop off/pick-ups. It's a place where I know my son is safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. I'm so glad we found Learn and Play Montessori.

Are you okay with minimal communication? 2. Do you have the time and energy to do your own documentation for incidents involving your child? 3. Are you okay with paying additional fees for dropping off your child 5 minutes early and/or picking up less than 5 minutes late? 4. Is quantity more important than quality? 5. Will you appreciate dealing with a rude and unprofessional site director (Lizette)? 6. Do you like leaving your child with undervalued and unhappy teachers? 7. Would you be okay with other children having "behavioral reports" on record, despite the site director's son's consistent behavioral issues being ignored? 8. Do you appreciate escalating an issue to the site director's boss, only to have it swept under the rug because the two have each other's backs? 9. Do you don't think high turnover of teachers and staff is normal? 10. Are you okay with no transparency and accountability? If you answered "yes" to any or all of the questions above, then this school will be the perfect fit for you and your child! Good luck. Note that if you do have any issues you want to report, it is nearly impossible to find contact information for the appropriate person. It will take some investigative work, so prepare yourself. Again, good luck!

Their experience, kindness, creativity, and patience contribute to a school that is warm, welcoming, and runs incredibly smoothly. (Running a preschool isn't easy, but somehow they make it look like it is!) They are one of the only Montessori schools in the Bay Area that are accredited by the American Montessori Society, and they use a Montessori curriculum that guides the children to learn about themselves and the world around them in a really beautiful way. This, coupled with a thoughtful environment, wonderful outdoor space, and everything bilingual in Spanish and English, creates such an enriching experience for the children there. I'm not going to lie, I was TERRIFIED of what this transition was going to mean for my son and for my family, as he has never been apart from me or his immediate family ever. Let's just say I was blown away by how quickly he adapted to the change. He regularly tells me how much fun he has and all of the new things he's been learning. Michelle, the owner of Peaceful Minds, teaches the children so many great things through play, and it's really perfect for my son! This morning my son picked up all of the plates from the table after breakfast and took them to the sink. I asked him who taught him to pick up after himself and he said "Michelle!" It totally warmed my heart. I also must say I love the regular updates I receive from Michelle highlighting what my son is doing. There's nothing better than receiving pictures of him having fun and learning while I'm working. As much as I miss having him home with me, I am so happy he's in great hands, in fact, the best hands possible! If you are considering taking your children to a daycare, call Michelle! You will not be disappointed. She and her staff are amazing!

Absolutely Exceptional - More Than Just a School…read more Year after year, this Montessori school continues to amaze our family. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. I Mother Tea Time: Another amazing experience for the children to spend some quality academic and fun time with their moms. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children. If you are looking for a place that will truly invest in your child's future, this is it. We couldn't be happier.

There is a reason this place only has 5-star reviews! As a first-time mom, I was extremely anxious about leaving my son with caregivers outside of family. What I didn't expect was that the wonderful teachers at Orkidz would start to feel like extended family to our baby. Before enrolling, I had heard plenty of horror stories about daycares where staff seemed disengaged or unhappy in their jobs. That has absolutely not been our experience here. The women at Orkidz genuinely LOVE children, and it shows every single day in the warmth, patience, and care they bring to the classroom. We toured several daycares before Orkidz, but the moment we walked in for our tour with Ms. Sheila, we were sold because no other place could compare. We were amazed with the facility, their library, their beautiful outdoor space, and the impressive commercial-style kitchen where they make yummy food for the kids. As for our son, I had prepared myself for difficult drop-offs and lots of crying. Instead, after a brief moment of confusion on his very first day (not sadness or separation anxiety because the teachers got to distracting him right away!), he settled in and adjusted to daycare immediately. He loves being around his little friends, is excited to go every morning, and is all smiles every time we come back to pick him up. Our son loves all the teachers, his face lights up when he sees them every morning, and he is especially attached to his primary teacher, Ms. Azadeh. They also have fun and engaging classes and we absolutely love the daily updates and pictures! In just a couple of months, we've already seen our now toddler become more social, curious, and comfortable around other children and adults. He also eats so well there and they have a variety of homecooked meals that I could never replicate. If you see a spot open at Orkidz, consider yourself lucky and save the spot as soon as you can - you will not regret it!

My son enjoyed all of his teachers at this school. He had Miss B, Miss Melissa and Miss Delmy. After months of searching for Montessori school in the Concord area. We came to interview at Montessori School of Concord. I remember waiting inside of the classroom for the interview with Miss Delmy, a young girl went up to me and asked me if I would like a bottle of water. I was blown away by the interaction from the girl. I knew right there that I wanted my son to attend this school. When my son started at Montessori School of Concord, his first teach was Miss B. She was a great teacher for the toddler class. My son took a while to adjust. He was shy and always cried before going to school. But after 3 months, he finally got over his fear. During his first year he got promoted to Miss Melissa's class. He flourished in reading and writing. The patience Miss Melissa has for her students is amazing. I would not have any other person help guide my 3 year old son at the time. Once my son got promoted Miss Delmy's class, I really saw him add and subtract in math. As a 4 year old, he would read books and enjoy reading on their own. I cannot express how much Miss Delmy and her staff really cared for each student. Miss Delmy can command the classroom and have fun with them too. Unfortunately I had to pull my son out of Montessori School of Concord because we moved to Alameda. I would of loved to keep him there but the commute was too long. It was hard to see him leave behind the BEST group of educators that truly embraced the Montessori way! I wish we could of still lived closer so my son could of graduated from the school and learned from the best. I hope you reading this will find this helpful in choosing the Montessori School of Concord.
