My now 11yr old son attended Pinole Montessori from ages 2-5. I currently have a 2yr old enjoying going to class every single day! She dashes to get into the car to go to school. Ms. Sidhu is phenomenal and potty trained both of my children when they barely turned 2! All of the teachers are kind, professional and very hard working. They make sure the children are happy and well taken care of. Holiday activities are awesome, and the kids have tons of fun during the Halloween parade and Xmas concert. Also, since lunch is provided, it's less stress the mornings for me! The staff treat you like family, and really get to know your child individually. My daughter started at Pinole Little Genius Montessori when she was about a year and a half, and we have had a very positive experience. The teachers are caring and attentive, especially Ms. Sidhu, who always made sure the children's needs were met--whether it was eating properly or being cared for throughout the day. We recently had to transfer to another school simply because it is right across the street from our home, otherwise we would have happily kept our daughter here. Our now 3 1/2 year old has been at Pinole Montessori since she was 2, starting in the toddler class, and she is now in the pre-school class. We are very happy with the level of care they provide and the frequency and clarity communication from the school. Pinole Montessori uses the ProCare app to provide live updates of what is happening in class, this includes videos and photos that are a real treat to see while we're away at work. Teachers provide us with what I call a "daily debrief" as we come for pick up, where they share highlights and events of note from her day. In terms of value, in my opinion the tuition is very competitive compared to the local market. The director is Ms. Angela, and she is excellent at keeping us in the loop with everything happening at the school. Ms. Phoung, Ms. Daljit, Ms. Erica, Ms. Shannon, and Ms. Melinda all work together in the pre-school and TK class and we can see that they take excellent care of the girls while providing them a safe place to learn, grow, and play. We recently enrolled our 18 month old in the toddler class as well, and she is very happy there. The toddler class, lead by Ms. Sidhu and Ms. Fang, is very proactive in ensuring that the students are well on their way to be potty trained. This has helped us a lot at home, making the whole process a breeze. They also work on improving speaking and fine motor skills. Additionally they have cute little holiday concerts, Easter egg hunts, and costume parties, plus gymnastics with Ms. Bindy. My 3.5 boy and 2 years girl are enrolled at Pinole Montessori. Why 5 stars? Because the facility and staff are absolutely amazing. Especially Ms Phong, Ms Seydou and Ms Fang. They are all very kid friendly and attentive. Always provide the kids' daily update, which I find extremely helpful as a parent. Furthermore, Ms Angela (the director) who has been helping me since day 1. With a newborn and 18 months old boy, my life was miserably busy. Without Pinole Montessori, I probably fall into depression. My boy was well potty trained and his speech definitely improved. He learned how to talk and behave with manners. My 5 year old son attends this preschool and we absolutely loves it! He started attending Pinole Montessori about six months ago and the progress and improvement I've seen in him is astonishing! He attended a franchise daycare from the time he was six months old and the pandemic hit about a year later. He then stayed home from age 1.5 to 4. I put him back in that franchise daycare for a couple of months and he wasn't happy there. He cried daily, he wasn't learning anything, I felt like he was being babysat instead of in preschool. Since I work from home, I wasn't able to teach him like I wanted to. He came to Pinole Montessori with the ability to count to 5, didn't know his entire alphabet, and had behavior issues. Six months later, he knows how to count to 20, can identify letters and numbers, can spell and write his name, and is on his very best behavior. He is happy to go to school and has even cried to go to school one day when they were closed. The staff here are all very nice and attentive. Ms. Tina and Ms. Melinda are great teachers and my son absolutely adores them. I've sat in on class and was surprised at how quiet and attentive the kids were! I've even seen them play musical chairs and I would imagine kids to get rough and push and cry during the game. These kids were all very gentle and applauded each other for trying. The atmosphere here feels family-like and I truly love it here. My older kids attended the franchise day are for 12+ years and said they wish I found this preschool sooner for them. Our family has had a great experience with this daycare. All the teachers and staff are dedicated to the well being of the children. We really appreciate the constant communication and insights on how our kids are developing and learning. Most important, the teachers are genuine and spend the time to get to know the children and understand were they are in their development and provide us with feedback. Do yourself and your child(ren) a favor, and look elsewhere. On paper, everything about this school seems like it should be great. And the teachers are kind, and do truly care about the kids here. But they suffer from a lack of support that stems from the top, resulting in a "revolving door" with very high turnover rates for the staff. They are overworked, presumably underpaid, and it was clear during our time at this school that the toxic work environment endured by the teachers was trickling down to the classroom and affecting the kids (how could it not?). In our time there, we saw three different directors, and more teachers come and go than I could count. This school is affordable compared to many in the area, but you get what you pay for. read more

I worked here for almost a year. I highly recommend this pre school. The staff here sweet and really care about the kiddos. As a teacher here I observed enough to say that your child will learn a lot everyday while having fun! I was mainly in the pre-k room with ms tina and she really is a great teacher and wants her students to learn. She always has detailed lessons plans ahead of time to make sure every kid learns every week with Montessori curriculum . She plans very fun creative art projects too! My son has been here for almost 3 years. I feel no worries when I drop him off every day. The school is clean and safe and the teachers always give me an update on anything and everything I ask about. The back play area is the best. My son has a ton of energy like most his age, so the large play space is crucial. As a first time parents sending our kid to school. It was a traumatic experience for us parents and my child. Such a disappointment.

My son started LGM at 27 months. Prior to enrollment he had been in our home with his grandfather so moving to a small school setting was scary for us all. Ms. Hidy, the director, allowed me to visit a few times with my son to confirm that it was a good fit, which was extremely helpful in our decision-making. After enrolling our son, he cried for 4 days every morning upon drop off. I emailed every day to ask about him and every day Ms. Hidy responded to my emails honestly, she confirmed that he cried on and off but then would let me know what the staff did to comfort him. After day 4, he hasn't cried again. Ms.Tina opens the daycare and is the first person of contact. She was essential in making our son feel comfortable - she is patient, comforting yet structured. My son loves her. Ms. Sidhu and Ms. Gabby are with my son during most of the day, they too are very kind, instructive and patient. My son isn't able to tell me about his day just yet but from his increase in words and his ability to start independent projects, we were amazed at how much he has been developing with LGM. He stopped asking us for help to start peeling his own banana and small things like that. His expressions also grew immensely. He is able to follow along in the ABC song and he is able to distinguish colors. As a mama, I am so grateful that we found a comforting learning environment for my son. read more

The reason for this 2 star rating is because the lack of supervision here. My daughter has been in the school since she was 2.5. I chose this school because I liked the idea of Montessori and for a toddler to become independent. In the beginning the school was great with some minor challenges with other kids, but I was able to address the issue and the director at the time Ms. Susie was able to correct it and to make me feel more comfortable and confident with the teachers whom my child was going to be with. My child was learning well, coming home with new things she has learned such as words and activities. My child is now 3.5 and this is where the problems and lack of supervision started to pick up once Ms. Tina had left us which was a very hard transition and difficult time. My child started coming home with stories about someone hitting her and it never got reported to me, soon as I addressed it to the teacher they immediately say it was an accident but failed to communicate the situation to me. What made me take her out of the school immediately was because another situation occurred and the teacher said she didn't know about it or she didn't see it, my child had a bruise on her face, nothing was reported. I got fed up because it was starting to be repetitive and making me feel unsafe for my child. read more

He is almost 4 years old and while I was a little worried about his transition going to a structured school for the first time, the staff has provided such a caring and fun place for him to enjoy all day. The hours are especially convenient and I really appreciate that they provide healthy snacks, lunch, and designate adequate time for a much-needed nap every day. My son comes home feeling so proud of the new friends he's made and especially loves to show off his new art projects he's made and new Spanish words and songs he learned. This is my daughter's last year at LGM and we're quite sad about it. I can't speak enough about the kindness, professionalism and generosity the staff has conveyed. My daughter was tested at 3 different private schools and all were shock at how well prepared she was for kindergarten. We owe it all to the staff at LGM. The facility is very clean and safe. My daughters have had an amazing experience at Little Genius Montessori. The staff is so warm and inviting, you can see that energy translate down to the kids. It's cost me thirteen hundred seventy five dollars to enroll my, at the time three going on four year old daughter. In their contract BEWARE. In the contract, They can say your child doesn't fit in with no notice. If your child begs you not to take them there any more you have to give a THIRTY DAY notice. I'm sorry I will not make my flesh and blood have to do another thirty days when she begs me not to take her. They refused to give me one cent back because I didn't give thirty days notice. Now if this were a car, I'd say buyer beware. But even with a car purchased at a car lot you have thirty days to return the car with a full refund. My child isn't a car she is s human being. I'll be getting in touch with the better business Bureau. She started dec 1 and ended in the beginning middle of January. I believe she spent less than thirty one days at little genius due to a two week Christmas break. She never brought any craft nor lessons home. Furthermore their quiet-sleep time runs from twelve thirty till three pm!!! So if my daughter gets there at ten and is picked up before three. WHAT COULD SHE POSSIBLY HAVE DONE???? Please please keep your children from this money pit. I got her in a place for a two hundred deposit and every day she brings home crafts and learning sheets of shapes and tracing letters. I would have gladly given the place she is in now thirteen hundred plus. Thank you TINY SHEEP. Now my daughter doesn't stay up all night because she has been asleep most of the day. My son has been attending this school for the past 3 years and when he first started, I thought it was awesome and he learned so many good things such as math, language, and etc. The original teachers were great, but every week or so, you will always see a new teacher and even my 5 year old son noticed it. He said, mommy, I'm so glad I'm getting out. Can you imagine a 5 year old saying this? I had a scare when the new manager called me and said they fed my son some fish sticks and she just learned by reading his chart that he's allergic. We have always been careful of our son's food/diet since he has allergies, then I've come to realize that the school is not doing their job. I've submitted everything on file during enrollment to note all of these, but the new manager said she hasn't been there that long and she wasn't aware of it. I was so mad and told them this is unacceptable. Having a son with allergies is a serious thing and should be not be taken lightly. The school lacks supervision and I think that needs to be addressed. Teachers are always leaving, I wonder why? It used to be great, but now I just don't know anymore and cannot wait until July to get out. read more
