My 5 year old son attends this preschool and we absolutely loves it! He started attending Pinole Montessori about six months ago and the progress and improvement I've seen in him is astonishing! He attended a franchise daycare from the time he was six months old and the pandemic hit about a year later. He then stayed home from age 1.5 to 4. I put him back in that franchise daycare for a couple of months and he wasn't happy there. He cried daily, he wasn't learning anything, I felt like he was being babysat instead of in preschool. Since I work from home, I wasn't able to teach him like I wanted to. He came to Pinole Montessori with the ability to count to 5, didn't know his entire alphabet, and had behavior issues. Six months later, he knows how to count to 20, can identify letters and numbers, can spell and write his name, and is on his very best behavior. He is happy to go to school and has even cried to go to school one day when they were closed. The staff here are all very nice and attentive. Ms. Tina and Ms. Melinda are great teachers and my son absolutely adores them. I've sat in on class and was surprised at how quiet and attentive the kids were! I've even seen them play musical chairs and I would imagine kids to get rough and push and cry during the game. These kids were all very gentle and applauded each other for trying. The atmosphere here feels family-like and I truly love it here. My older kids attended the franchise day are for 12+ years and said they wish I found this preschool sooner for them. Keep up the good work Pinole Montessori! I'm sad that my baby will be aging out soon

Ms. Sidhu the dedicated teacher of little beginners.

Dina doesn't just care for the children's day-to-day needs; she helps prepare them for the next stages of life, from preschool to kindergarten and beyond. We've had all three of our children in Dina's care over the years, and choosing her daycare was honestly one of the best decisions we've ever made. From the very beginning, Dina created an environment where our kids felt safe, loved, and excited to learn every day. Her routines are consistent and thoughtful -- from meals and naps to playtime and learning activities -- and she gives each child the attention they need to succeed. Thanks to her patient teaching and creative projects, our kids learned so much -- recognizing letters, numbers, shapes, and colors -- and even started writing their names by age three. By the time they moved on to kindergarten, they were confident, curious, and more than ready both academically and socially. Dina's home is always welcoming, filled with fun learning materials and toys that spark curiosity and independence. She's great about keeping parents informed and is always honest and open in her communication, which made us feel completely at ease. Dina is more than a caregiver-she's like a second mom. She truly loves and supports each child as if they were her own. She, along with Miss Rene, Kara, Big Karey, and Karey Michael, have built such a loving community where kids learn kindness, confidence, and compassion. We'll truly miss Dina and her amazing team. Our family is forever grateful for the care, love, and strong foundation she's given our children and the positive impact she's had on our lives. With her years of experience, what our kids gained from their time with her is absolutely priceless. We will miss our daycare family!

That first meeting really stuck with me, and it made me feel good about choosing L&P Montessori for my son. Ms. Norma, Ms. Karima, and Ms. Ava have been amazing. They go out of their way to make every child feel comfortable and cared for. My son can be a handful; he's energetic, can be wild at times, and is very selective about the people. They have been nothing but patient and kind with him. I want to comment about Ms. Jackie because I recently saw a negative review about her, and it made me really sad to see what was written about her. It's tough to see something like that written about someone, knowing that words like those can really hurt a person's character and reputation. I've never seen any of the behaviors mentioned in the negative review but only kindness from Ms. Jackie, even the times I would drop off my son and didn't know I was there. She's always sweet and patient, especially with kids who are having a rough morning. My son is talkative and not afraid to speak his mind if something's wrong. If there was ever anything off, my son would be the first to tell me if Ms. Jackie was not nice. Even in the older kids' classrooms, the staff and teachers are friendly, nice, and acknowledges you during drop off/pick-ups. It's a place where I know my son is safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. I'm so glad we found Learn and Play Montessori.

It's not just a daycare--it's a safe place for children to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment that celebrates both excellence and diversity. As a "Black-owned business", Big Steps stands tall. Yet what makes it even more special is the variety of families and nationalities who bring their children here, each one welcomed with open arms. There is a strong sense of unity and shared peace of mind that every child is nurtured and valued, regardless of background. I've recommended Big Steps to other parents with full confidence. In fact, a couple I know has traveled all the way from Vallejo, California, across the bridge because of my recommendation. They expressed having the same beautiful experience. They've told me they would happily return if ever the need arises again. That kind of consistency and trustworthiness speaks volumes. One of the most helpful features is the Emergency Care option. Life is unpredictable, and knowing there's a trusted place where your child can be cared for on short notice is an incredible relief. There's even the possibility of holiday and weekend care, which is such a thoughtful addition for working or busy parents. I believe that places devoted to children's well-being should always strive to reflect the highest levels of character and integrity, not just in how children are treated, but in every interaction within the environment. Consistent professionalism creates an atmosphere that all families can feel completely comfortable in, which is vital when building a lasting sense of community and trust. She stated she would be sending documents for us to review and also to fill the following Monday. We followed up and she replied that she would be sending them the following day. we waited for the next day but nothing, so we followed up again with our intent to get all required docs filled out and to send payment as soon as possible. she replied stating she would be sending something shortly. the entire day went by and nothing. We attempted to follow up a couple more times and it was no reply after that. This delayed our search for childcare as we needed it within a week of our first meeting. We would have appreciated the common courtesy to just get denial via text or even a call. We would have been able to keep our search going. We found it very unprofessional and also bizarre as she appeared very nice in person.
