STAY AWAY FROM PAUL DAVIS!!! I can't warn anyone reading this enough about this deplorable company. While I was recovering from dying in my house fire and unable to make good decisions, they did extremely poor quality work and used low quality materials while rebuilding my home. I could list the over 100 issues that a home inspector found after they "completed" my home and moved me back in but there's not enough room here. Let's just say that my beautiful home that I built in 1998 is long gone and the POS home that Paul Davis put me into are like night and day. They had me signing checks from my insurance company when I wasn't mentally competent from a lack of oxygen for over 7 minutes during that fire. They put me in a home with eight SAFETY issues that both my home inspector and the LLC Investigator identified, one being my lack of smoke detectors that communicated with one another and not enough of them - after I'd spent months in the Augusta Burn Center and St Francis with severe and lifetime damage to my lungs, esophagus and vocal cords. They thought because I was a woman that couldn't think straight that they could get by with getting paid well by State Farm and leaving me in a house that has multiple issues that I'm still fighting for years later. We decided to call Paul Davis restoration. restoration back in May 2024, believing that they were going to be the answer to the tree that had fallen on our house in January. What we found from the Paul Davis restoration of Greenville and Spartansburg, South Carolina is that they like to cut corners to be able to make more profit than the project they are working on. They Decide what not to do and what to do without regard to the amount of money that has already been paid. This company has provided us with a quote and then decided not to do many of the items on the quote that was all based on insurance recommendation on State Farm's webpage. This company, Brent Cunningham, Bruce Ko and Case Godfrey have lied, threatened, and have left us with an incomplete home while we were trying to navigate the trauma of having a tree fall on our home. We have pictures of everything that they decided not to do, we have pictures of all the damages , and some of them are provided by their own employees. They allowed their subcontractors to do damage to our home, and we have pictures from Paul Davis restoration showing all of these things that, were in respect to their integrity, showing that they lacked it. Since we have dealt with this tree falling on our house, we believed that by taking on State Farm recommended contractor of Paul Davis restoration that we were doing something good for ourselves. Since we hired this company and signed documents with this company, they have proved that they are shady, coercive, and threatening, without delivering what they provided in a quote. Now this company would like to put a lien on our home for nonpayment, when we still have an incomplete home and haven't done a proper walk-through yet, mind you we have the final payment waiting for them upon completion minus the things they have not done. This company is not a company you want to hire for anything that would provide you with the security blanket that you think they should provide. I have 120 some emails expressing lack of communication from their side of the company, lack of accountability, and lack of professionalism. At this point, these people are questioning my integrity as to whether or not I'm going to pay a bill that I've already paid 3/4 of prior to any of the work that is still not completed. The work has come across as shady, the integrity that they've shown has been unacceptable, and how they treated us as the insured recovering from a trauma to our home has been extremely distasteful. I would highly recommend Paul Davis Restoration of Greenville and Spartanburg. I went on vacation for a week and came home to my house being flooded. I thought it would be a short process to get it taken care of but I was floored when Case told me how long it was going to take to do the mitigation side and that didn't even include the time to do the repairs. They were very thorough. Apparently there was mold that started growing from the standing water. They made sure it was all completely gone. Yes I had to deal with some inconviences of having loud equipment in my home longer than what we expected but they wanted to make sure everything was completely dry. Once the mitigation was over I thought we would be able to get the ball rolling and then get my house put back together but boy was I wrong. There was about 3 1/2 weeks that there wasn't anything done. I was so annoyed at first with Paul Davis, then come to find out, it wasn't Paul Davis Restoration that was holding the job up. My insurance company was fighting them on wanting to cover getting the job done right. I appreciate the fact that Paul Davis took the time to actually fight back against my insurance company to make them pay for getting my house repaired correctly and not cheaply like my insurance company wanted. My advise is don't expect them to get the job done overnight. If you are going through your insurance company instead of paying out of your pocket, they can only do what the insurance company will allow and approve. I'm not a patient person and called them almost every day. Then the project manager (Scott) came out and sat down with me and explained everything and even showed me some of the communication between them and the insurance company to back up what I was being told. We were referred to Paul Davis by our insurance company. We had to move out of our home for the repairs. The original job was to start July 17 and be complete July 31. We have now been out of home for a month. We were given a new estimated complete date of almost 3 more weeks. No one is schedule to work on our house again for two more weeks. Thus far they have ruined one of my cabinets and broken my granite. I am beyond frustrated. All I can say is if you are reading this review and considering using Paul Davis don't do it. read more

reposting this review to replace the one paul davis had taken down, tho I'm not sure why I'm bothering since there are also lousy google reviews about them online, which you should definitely check out because apparently they can't get those taken down the way they can on yelp? google "paul davis greenville sc" to see ALL the bad reviews in any case, had a leak in the ceiling. first guy shows up, cuts a reasonable sized hole to look for the leak. next up, plumber comes to inspect - the estimate goes up by $50 then $100 as he realizes we have insurance, he wants to install new non copper pipe, and he says the first guy has to come back to cut a larger hole so that he can see the whole pipe, which he could've done himself - very shifty. first guy comes back, is pissed the plumber would not do his job, cuts much too large hole in ceiling all the way to the molding and scars the molding, then cuts an electrical wire, leaves. later we found out the plumber had heavily overcharged a client to the tune of several thousand dollars for some toilets, and the people back at the office must've known they were sending someone out who is ripping their clients off. absolutely DO NOT let these people anywhere near your home - we fired them and had Rainbow International Restorers to fix the damage instead, and Paul Davis still overcharged for coming out and doing a lousy job in the first place. Our insurance company referred us to Paul Davis after a broken pipe. It is a year later and the work is not complete. The wood floor that is installed is unlevel to point where furniture rolls. I have been waiting and waiting for a response. It's embarrassing that every guest comments on our unlevel floor and poor quality. Do not do business with this company. Very unprofessional from day one. We were told the project would take 6-8 weeks and would include demolition and restoration. Now, 6 weeks later, we are being told it was two different projects and they would no longer do the restoration because of other projects, leaving our house without any floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, etc. The first day one of the workers showed up without any tools which shows what kind of employees they hire. There is zero communication between the workers, project manager,and customers. We never knew when they were coming back and some weeks they didn't. This company decided to abandon their project because of a bad review. Now you know why they have bad reviews. He was assigned to do my install through Lowe's for a storm door. I had to contact Paul Davis because no one ever called to schedule my install. I finally received a call back and scheduled for 11/16 10-12. Well, My husband received a call from Paul that Lowe's had sold the door I purchased. I called Lowe's to find out what was going on and they stated that my door was still in the bay to be picked up and they had been waiting for Paul Davis. Needless to say that I still don't have my door installed, never received a call back from them and I will tell anyone DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Paul Davis Restoration (PDR) was brought in by my insurance company. Just called the insurance company and asked them to not let PDR back in my house. They have "repaired" my house to make it worse than the damage caused by a broken water line. Stained the new hardwood the wrong color. Put quarter round down that was a different color. Not a review in the sense of what they do, but a review of a situation I had with one of their employees. Last night I got a flat tire on union hwy at about 8 and was freaking out. Lawrence, a worker for Paul Davis pulled over and changed my tire for me. I am sure he was tired and on way home but sat out there in the cold and did it without even asking for a thing.
