Paul Davis was quick to respond to the pipe break in my basement during our awful cold snap. They did great work, tearing out the wet floor the next day and working with me to get it replaced quickly. Had very efficient communication with the project manager. If I could give a lower review for this company, I would. We had a overflow in our basement bathroom. We got quotes from several different companies and we knew the Paul Davis name that they had integrity and compassion for restoration. Well, I was completely wrong about all of that! The initial mitigation process was amazing! Chelsey and her team had it cleaned up immediately. Then we worked with Jamie for the loss property items. She was a complete dream to work with. Then it was time for the build out of the basement. Mind you, we've had this issue since October of 2025. We started the build out in November. It's June, almost July and our basement is empty. Half of the time they were complaining to our insurance company that they couldn't get into the home due to the homeowners not letting them get the work done. HELLO...I work for a living and so does my husband! Thank God my office is gracious enough to let me work from home every so often to let these idiots through the door. I would take days to work from home for the team to build out the work. The contractors would get there say around 9 - 9:30 and leave by 2pm doing little work. We did have one contractor - the drywaller, Allayn who worked his ass off. He even came on Saturdays to get the job done. He felt awful that we were getting jacked around. We've had some of the contractors even say that Paul Davis doesn't communicate with them. Gives them a few days to clear their schedule to come work for :30 min. The other contractors we've had to deal with were subpar or didn't get the notification from our PM in enough time to actually DO something. Most of them would leave around 2 - 2:30 saying they were done and here I was alone in the house...just waiting for someone to come and do their job. It's been exhausting. Then we got the news that there was a MUD water main break in January. We found out that we were being pushed to the side to have them do work for MUD. We have been working on this project since OCTOBER and now, we're pushed to the side because MUD said "JUMP"? Ridiculous! Now, we find out that they are dropping us because we are being too difficult. TOO DIFFICULT? We just want communication (which there was hardly any - sometimes we'd go 3 - 4 weeks without any communication from our PM) and the basement to be just like it was before the overflow. Do yourself a favor and RUN AWAY from Paul Davis!! It's been an awful experience with the PM and the contractors. Don't do work with them, please! Even our neighbor lady had to threaten to sue them if they didn't get their act in gear. So, it's not just us! Don't hire them! read more

If you expect communication, honesty, professionalism and/or quality work this is NOT the company you should use. I used them for restoration after a garage fire and would not recommend them under any circumstance. Service after the commitment is absolutely awful, Mike does a good job selling the company but clearly does not care about the client after the contract is signed, does not even have the decency to return a call personally. All of the items in my garage were discarded before I signed off so I left a message for Mike who just passed the buck to my first project manager, from there I was asked to back date that particular agreement and sign off on the disposal. After that I noticed that many of my items that were supposed to be properly discarded were being used by the crew which was quite entertaining. From there I was pressured by the PM to let him dispose of my ammo after I was told that they "will not touch" any ammo because of liability issues, it seemed as if the PM wanted it for his self. My garage (3) steps were redone 3 times, one time they had a step that was 12" tall and told me it was up to code, materials used were much lower in quality, they tried to sell me on an interior door that was not the type of door we agreed upon and not the correct size, after it was already installed. The list literally goes on and on. I felt like I was being mislead or in a bait-n-switch situation around every corner. My air ducts were cleaned out and vent covers were put on upside down, some weren't even screwed back in, they just left the screws on the counter. This job resulted in a screeching sound whenever the AC turned on so after being told multiple times my filter was in crooked, they had to call an HVAC company that simply turned the vent covers right side up and the noise disappeared. Getting my exterior garage doors installed has been an absolute nightmare, One door is actually in and painted taking up the whole three bay garage floor, when asked if I could have it installed so I could at least pull my car in I was told the garage services company will not install one door at a time, apparently it has to be all doors at once. How dumb does that even sound? This has been going on since August and we are now in December, yes there are supply issues but had my garage doors been ordered up front, surely they would have been installed by now as admitted by PD. My insurance money was sent to the mortgage company to be put in an escrow account at the request of PD so they could work directly with them to take me out of it and that has not even gone how it was supposed to so they call me asking for payment regularly. Literally nothing has gone the way they described it, not one single thing. I sent 11 pages, complete with text messages and photos to my lawyer so that should indicate how long I could go on about the joys of working with this company. With the exception of Savannah and her contents team this place is absolutely one of the most unprofessional and incompetent companies I have ever worked with and I work with customers in the service industry every single day. Do yourself a favor and just don't hire them for anything. Update: Moments after submitting my review I got a text saying my garage door was being delivered to my house and I had to be home to sign for it, this was never communicated to me before hand so of course I can't be there last minute, now we reschedule pushing installation back again. Yay! Update #2: My garage was warmed up to paint one door before it was installed and now both doors are installed but the second one is being painted after the install, my HOA stated it will be $100 a day fine after 72 hrs so now I am giving my attorney the green light as I obviously will not be paying these fines. I will continue to add updates as I am unsure how they will paint the door correctly since it is already installed, not to mention it is 30 degrees out. No exterior keypads, wires jointed and hanging with no wire nuts, interior keypads installed without wall anchors and already loose. One of the doors just opened by itself overnight and will not stay closed. They literally just scramble to hire anyone for installations and project managers do anything but actually manage the projects or verify the quality of the work. Over it. read more

I am the property manager of an apartment complex. We had a fire at the beginning of the year that effected multiple units. Mark, with Paul Davis, worked with us on a quote and then was excellent to work with and communicate with throughout the restoration process. He made sure to let us know when things were happening and if we needed to do anything and was also quick to respond if we had any issues and willing to listen and work on whatever they might have been. I wish I had checked here sooner. My experience is much the same as the other posts on here. The communication was terrible. Me too, had the pleasure of having to call to get any type of update, only to be met with excuses (mostly trying to say they were waiting on me). The initial estimate was packed with unnecessary repairs. Their QA guy would call asking how the work was so far ... but nothing was even close to starting, I was still waiting for the estimate. Much more about lame excuses I could go on and on with. Luckly ... After telling the estimate guy that I do not trust him, that I think he's done a sub-par job - I think his name was Beau - and after signing the work order, having to meet with the project manager, a second phone call from QA asking the same question on how the work was going (which still hadn't even started) Luckly again ... Beau called to tell me after 6 months that they we no longer going to work with me. What a waste of time. I say Luckly because I looked up their company, and their ownership, also contacted many people via social media to understand that they are a very terrible company to deal with. I will be sending a courteous email to: Rich Wilson, Ed Duke, Leslie Anderson, and most important to Leanne Etheridge, Asst. VP of QA. I'll also be copying Jay Hennick, D. We were considering using Paul Davis for the rebuild after our water loss. Everything was great up until the point person came to go over the estimate and us write the first check. When I started to ask a lot of questions about the estimate, he became condescending and a bit rude. I decided in that moment, not to sign or pay that day, and wait to further review it. This is the worst company I ever done business with They did not get the water up out of my basement, the left the water damage items they said they would remove. They lied to my insurance company and told them they could not stop the water from coming in my house, I had to pay another company to come and do the job they was supposed to do. do not sign that contract I had to pay over 2,600 for nothing absolutely nothing for them to sit around and lie. We used Paul Davis for some emergency mitigation services after our basement flooded. The crew was outstanding, very professional, efficient and friendly. They were very prompt in getting out to our home to tear out necessary drywall and flooring. They left the necessary drying equipment and then returned a few days later to pick it up. The main miss was that they said trey would be picking up the drying equipment on a Saturday but they didn't show, but came on a Monday after we called. We would have liked to get a bid from them on their restoration services but they were at capacity (which I guess is a good problem to have) so we were told to call around for other insulation and dry wall installers. In regards to mitigation though, they are excellent. read more

This company is a joke to work with--except it's not funny! My kids had their basement water line back up and a partial flooded basement. This was BEFORE Thanksgiving. This company does not communicate. This company makes excuses for everything. This company's timeline for completion is May! For a partial basement restoration. Now they are bringing a container for storing basement items and expect the kids to haul it all up to the container. They don't even want to do the whole job! Cons: We had a major house fire in September, causing us to be out of our home for 4 months, upon arriving back to our house, at first it looked amazing. We then started noticing all of the inconsistencies in our paint, the chips in our floor, glass left outside, DIRTY RUSTED NAILS!! and they removed so much of our siding that we may have to replace our entire exterior! Just because they had to replace a window! Completely ridiculous. When they wiped the soot off our walls, they wiped off our paint as well! We have been back in our home for a couple months and we are still noticing the crappy paint jobs, the chips in our tile that were not there prior to the fire they charged our insurance company for things that they didn't even do! They left most of their trash in our backyard to clean up, we asked them to clean it up and they came TWICE and there is still shattered glass, pieces of our siding, and nails everywhere. All around an unpleasant experience with Paul Davis's job Pros: They have good customer service and response time. The day of the fire we were all stunned and disoriented and they were there within 30 minutes of the fire. He stayed with us all day, making sure we were taken care of and walked us through our house. Our case manager Josh, was very kind and very respectful. All of Paul Davis's employees are nice and friendly, but the contractors they hire to do these "jobs" aka your house, are absolutely terrible. read more

If I could post a lower score then would. In August my neighbor had a flood situation in his condo and unfortunately for me hired these incompetent idiots. During the demo of his unit they cut a hole into MY living room wall. It took them three weeks to even begin the "Restoration". I was made to make numerous phone calls to this highly unprofessional group as they don't return phone calls. I was told that I was not a priority and they proved that to be true. It took over three months to not return my wall to its original state even after having to call the corporate office in Florida. I could go on and on with how unpleasant and at times frightening it was to have to interact with these people what with being bullied and threatened. The coup de gras was a ten dollar check sent to me that was returned for insufficient funds. Do yourself a favor and find a real restoration compan. read more

Where shall I start? I now associate Paul Davis Restoration with the same sentiment as seeing a cockroach scurry across a floor. Don't let them fool you. They are great at convincing insurance companies to pay their outrageously high fees, but don't expect them to get the job done in any timely manner. I myself have been waiting years (yes years) for them to finish work on my house...so long that I just gave up and had to pay a contractor to finish the work. Now, a normal human being would think that you shouldn't have to pay for incomplete work or unsatisfactory work... but not with Paul Davis Restoration. Their plan entails lying and scheming to the insurance company to squeeze every last cent they can get, and then they subcontract out all of the work. Yes, that is right. They are nothing but middle men that actually don't do any of the work themselves. And good luck with any warranty repairs; their subs don't stay with them very long, so don't expect anyone to actually warranty anything, because Paul Davis Restoration will not pay out of pocket to get other folks in to do any warranty work. Basically, if you have an issue and don't mind waiting years to get it repaired incorrectly, then Paul Davis is the company for you. But, if you fail to pay these crooks, they put liens on the properties. Yes, that is correct. These lying thieves squeeze your insurance company, and then you. When you complain and say you won't pay for incomplete work, they put a lien on your property. In the end, do not let these crooks anywhere near your house. If your insurance company says to use them, demand they go with another company. read more

Today there was a small fire in my kitchen. I was home with my children and was understandably shaken up after having to call the fire department. While waiting for the fire department to finish up I was approached by Joe D'Elia who saw I was visibly upset. He felt it was appropriate to ask me about the damages and give me his card before the fire trucks even pulled away. I find it incredibly offensive to attempt to make a business pitch to a mother crying with her children in the car after such an emotional event. You are taking advantage of people in a vulnerable situation and you should feel ashamed. My fire had minimal damage- thank God, but how dare you potentially approach someone else in a vastly worse position. It breaks my heart to think you would approach someone who just lost everything or a loved one. Shame on you, Joe D'Elia and shame on this company for these practices. It is predatory and if you had a reputable business you would not need to chase ambulances. Do better. read more

I was very Happy with the work I had done by Paul Davis and his group. I was at wits end after a pipe burst and I had water all over and covering a bedroom, bathroom.family room and Harley room. I got my estimate and the following week they started on my basement. I had a problem with a wall coming out pink after the color we presented to Sherman Wiliams but I was not having a pink wall and we redid the sample from the accent wall upstairs and determined it was they way the light was and they fixed right away. They picked up after themselves and I am immunosuppressed and they wore mask when they were here. When they were cutting the baseboards they cut them outside and took them downstairs when done. I could not have asked for a better group of guys. I pray that I never have this happen again but if I do Paul Davis and his crew will be on speed dial read more

My sump pump backed up, flooding my finished basement. Every single Paul Davis employee (and every sub-contractor) was professional, polite, and just plain friendly. I never felt uncomfortable around anyone. The quality of the work was stellar, in my opinion. The water damage crew was fast and kept everything clean and explained everything clearly to me. The same goes for the restoration crew. When the whole thing was complete, the basement looked better than it had before the sump pump died. read more

I can't say enough about the service received from the folks at Paul Davis. We had a sprinkler line rupture and it flooded a lower level bedroom. A call was made and within a few hours they were at my house giving me an estimate and the next morning the crew was in to tear out drywall, molding and carpet. Excellent service from Paul Davis. Project manager came out to assess my roof the day after I reached out. I had a quote by the end of the day. Next day my insurance adjuster assessed the roof. I provided this information to Paul Davis who immediately scheduled roofing replacement. Workers were excellent, they worked diligently to complete the job in one day as we were expecting rain. Less than 48 hours after moving in to our new home (just built) we had water damage due to a botched clothes washer install by a third party, on a Sunday morning no less. I called our insurance agent and Paul Davis was one of the names they gave us as a local vendor. A project manager was on site within the hour. The technician, engineer or whatever his official title (Kevin was his name) was on site within an hour of that. Wow! Because of their rapid response, we didn't have to cut walls, replace fixtures, etc. Kevin explained on each visit what they were doing, what to expect and when they would be out next. He kept my wife and I in the know throughout the entire process. We wouldn't hesitate to contact them again if needed in the future. read more

Paul Davis Restoration and its many subcontractors continually parked their vehicles across the sidewalks so pedestrians (myself included) have to climb through snow drifts and cross solid ice. There was such a simple solution to this issue: clear the driveway of ice so the trucks can pull forward or park on the street! When I asked the subcontractor TWICE over two days to kindly move his van forward, he refused both times and said "go ahead... call the police." It took pretty much a whole day of calls to the local Omaha office, the National corporate office, the Mayor's hotline, the project manager and the subcontractors to end up with three orange cones blocking the driveway. It would have been so much easier to just shovel and remove ice from the driveway. It's a tempest in a teacup, I know but I have slipped and fallen three times in the past two weeks because of how they park. I'm tired of it. If someone had apologized and been polite it would speak better of this awful, inefficient and ultimately rude company. read more

We called Paul Davis for a water leak in our home. The tear out crew did a fine job minimally tearing out parts of our kitchen and bathroom, 4 weeks after the water damage had occurred--adding to the black mold problem. However, the guy in charge of our project went on at least three vacations within six weeks, which was absolutely unacceptable. We ended up severing ties for the rest of the job and as the new people have come, we are still finding black mold that was not addressed by PDR. It's a shame that this company has gone so far downhill. We used them for fire damage 15 years ago and their service was outstanding then. Today, it's very lacking. We will never use them again. While typing this, I notice Jay L.'s comments. He is absolutely correct that they outsource all the work, but the minimal tear and dry out. They were going to order my cabinets from a national hardware chain and then upcharge me 20%. I spoke with the cabinet people at the chain directly, and not only saved the 20% upcharge PDR was going to charge me, but also got an additional 20% rebate from the manufacturer. On another side note, their lock box is still hanging my door, 5 months after severing ties. Frustrating to have such a reminder of terrible service. read more

Would recommend them and definitely use them again! We had a dishwasher cause water damage. I don't think any kind of water repair is ideal or repairs always go as planned. That being said, that was our situation, but, Pat Shannon and his team dug their heels in and got it done, and done right! He has a lot of patience and followed through. Had a little communication mishap in the beginning, but once we got past that, we were good. It's nice to know that there are companies around that still value integrity. They have terrible customer service. They began work on our flooded basement prior to sending written estimates. Their verbal estimates promised that it would cost less than our maximum insurance. Once we finally received the written estimates, the total cost of the work that was already completed was $2k that insurance. After reviewing the estimates, there were charges for work that never took place. When we questioned the estimates, the company's representative fabricated statements made by my husband in order to justify the added expense...in other words they lied to get more money. They are dishonest and made a bad situation worse. read more

Wedgewood Townhomes just recently used Paul Davis to help us with extensive water damage to the lower story of our clubhouse. From start to finish, we found everyone with whom we interacted at and sent by the company to be helpful, professional, highly skilled and knowledgeable, timely and responsible. The job was done expertly, and cleanup was impressive. If you want the job done right and want to have confidence in your contractor, I don't think there is anyone but Paul Davis to select. read more
