Poor Customer Service! I purchased two non-iron white shirts from PF. After six months of occasional wear under a lab coat, one of the sleeves split along a seam. When I called to explain, their response was less than satisfactory. They said no guarantee or warranty after three months. The shirts were $90 apiece. I would've expected a little more durability for that price. As a return customer, frankly I would've expected them to replace the shirt. So unless you plan to wear one of their shirts only very rarely, I would try a different vendor. read more

I have been a customer for more than ten years. I've bought a sport coat, but mostly dress and casual pants and shirts. The one quality issue I have is with some fabrics; it pays to check for cotton, wool and linen clothing. Shirt prices are comparable to high-end, where shirt makers like Charles Tyrwhitt of Jermyn Street will make stock and custom shirts. I've had zero issues wustomer service by phone, and incorrectly ordered sizes were returned for a different size with no hassles. The only issue I've had is with my size selling out before I can order an item I haven't seen quickly enough. I would recommend this store. read more

I was a customer of PF for over 30 years. They use to have the best suits, shirts, ties, shoes and pocket squares. But when covid hit the quality went out the window, way over price and material is horrible. Seem like they only make tight fitting suits now. i will never order another suit from them. Bought two pairs of linen dress pants. I missed that they cannot be returned if sized wrong. Out $150.00, and rude customer service when you contact them. I sent the pants back thinking they can be exchanged, so I'm out that and the pants. Highly recommend that you shop elsewhere. Though I love the look and fit of the white dress shirts, they do not hold up to normal wear and cleaning. Tears have developed on the sleeves of almost every one of the shirts. And, small holes are appearing on the sleeves, adjacent to the cuffs. The tears appear on the crease of the sleeve. I have had to do iron-on patches on the underside to be able to continue to wear the shirts. These tears are appearing in less than a year from time of purchase. read more

Stay far, far away. Absolutely horrific customer service. I purchased an expensive pair of pants that were either mis-sewn or mis-sized and did not fit. I tried to exchange them for a pair of pants that WOULD fit, and my return was refused because I had paid extra to have the pants cuffed. The Paul Frederick customer service rep insisted that I had been informed at the time of ordering that cuffed pants were non-returnable, and would do nothing to help make the situation right. Worst customer experience I have ever had--$146 down the drain for a pair of pants that was mis-constructed. Update: Check out the cold and unresponsive reply from their "big-hearted" customer support rep...he/she has no clue what the pants I received look like, yet he/she claims that they "are not mis-sized". How do they know? They ship out hundreds of pants every day. I compared the pants I received to several pairs of THE SAME SIZE pants in my closet, and they are MARKEDLY smaller. But again, they don't care--"you bought 'em, you keep 'em" is their policy. I've purchased shirts from these people for years and years, but I've never called with a problem until now. I ordered 32" waist which is what I have worn for decades. They didn't come close to fastening. When I reached out to Customer Service I was told that sizes vary. As you can see by their comments, they have absolutely no compassion for their customers. They keep addressing the alterations. I have no problem with the alterations. They keep evading the actual problem. The problem is the waist size of their pants! They do not fit over my butt!! Their 44 waist does not fit! All of my pants are 44 waist and they fit perfectly. That's the issue not the alteration. They should mention on their website that they run small so that way someone will order differently and maybe order the next size up and have a 46 altered down. Maybe if they took the time to find out what the problem was instead of just ignoring the issue, this would not have grown into this monster we're dealing with. Believe me, I get it about what they're saying no returns on alterations but again I feel they should have done something even if they had met me halfway I would've been happy enough to continue doing business with them. I can't say how well the shirts fit because they were never delivered. It says 'delivered' - a common issue in NY, but they didn't come. The customer service people were rude, said it was not their problem, sot he $100 spent was simply a loss. Since the company is located in PA, and the pkg was being shipped to Texas, I thought it would take a few days. Two days after I ordered I got a shipping notice. Now, nine days have passed and I learned that the pkg was picked by UPS to deliver to the USPS. It still has not been delivered to the Post Office. Terrible, inexcusable service. Ordered three more dress shirts, and took four PF shirts on a business trip to Europe several weeks ago. They look great and wear well, very crisp with a blazer or with jeans. My first PF shirts are now a year old and look new, and I wear them weekly. I have to comment on their service. Every time you call you get a live, US-based person. Sometimes it's the same "little old lady" in fact, and they are super. They look things up right away and seem really on the ball. Not luxury, but this is much higher quality than you're likely to see anyone wearing out in the real world (and you should know that "luxury", means clothes that are completely measured, tailored, and handsewn for you specifically, by an experienced, reputable tailor. For luxury, you can expect to pay $300-$2,500+++ per article of clothing, depending on who you commission to make your clothes). Paul Fredrick offers an outstanding value for the price, provided you buy items on sale. They have some great designs to choose from as well; regarding all that they offer. If you want unique, very nice, clothes, and don't want to pay a literal fortune for them, shop paulfredrick.com, and you won't be disappointed. Cotton items will shrink, so they are made slightly oversized. Just know your size, and after you lightly machine wash to shrink them to fit, DRY-CLEAN them afterwards to keep those colors looking their sharpest. I'd argue that PF is comparable; more or less; in quality to Tommy Hilfigger, Hugo Boss, Tommy Bahama, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren Polo ect... and better than VanHeusen, or any other department store options you're likely to find. Versace and Robert Graham Rutherford, and perhaps one or two others might have them beat, but not by much, and if you want those brands, expect to pay more. They offer free shipping if you buy a certain amount, and returns are (processed) free, but you pay shipping to return them. They aren't Amazon, but they do ship pretty fast (2-3 days average). I can't speak for other people's bad experiences, but so far I have had nothing but positive experiences purchasing Paul Frederick shirts. The quality is top notch, the pricing is very competitive and the shirts arrive in a timely fashion. I have found that the shirts run true to size, so I have not had any issues with shirt sizes. My only request is that they offer more dress shirts with French cuffs; that is my preferential style of cuff. I also like how they allow you to add a monogram to your shirts for a small cost. I have purchased about 10 shirts from them in the past several months. I intend to keep using them and I might even try buying a pair of pants form them - I seem to have a hard time finding pants that fit me well. I have not had to return an item, so I can't speak to that, but I have no complaints so far. read more
