I'm blonde- went into get roots done and lighten up the underneath . Took from 2:15 to 8:pm to leave me with black hair and not any of my blonde (from a great job a few months ago). Stylist and supervisor both had the audacity to tell me there were new blond highlights. I left crying and charged $115 for something a box of dye from Walgreens could have done in 20 minutes. Never ever again - unbelievable- even one of the stylist coworkers laughed out loud (right in front of me) because of such a botched job. I'm so disappointed and hurt. My hair is BLACK AND NOT ONE BLOND STREAK / nice - especially when it's July 4th and I'm a laughing stock!!!!! I requested a new job and the supervisor explained to me that the main boss is on vacation and I would need to email her right away to request a solution to this problem. When my hair is now black and I'm told that I have blond highlights etc... really? I'm a teacher and it really boggles my mind that someone can actually tell me I'm not seeing what I should either my own eyes. I've had enough students in my lifetime to know right from wrong. The students were wonderful and very professional! But the front desk was the worst customer service I have ever received! My appointment was 10:00 and I arrived at 9:30 so I knew I would have at least a 30 minute wait but I saw a friend waiting too so we just chatted. Her appointment was for 9:30. She was told thet were getting setup for her. At 10:15 she went back to the desk and asked why so long. THE SHORT STOCKY GIRL WITH LONG BLACK HAIR TOLD HER THERE WAS A MIXUP AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK AT 11:30! I asked what the delay for my appointment was? Same girl said Serina was setting up for me now! Ten minutes later I asked when my appointment was and she said "Serina was not here today and we are looking for another student to do your nails" They finally got me in at 11:30! And They finished at 2:00 for gel manicure and pedicure! I am my husband's caregiver and had to hire someone for my time! She finally left him alone at 12:45 as she had another client! If this professional at the front desk hadn't lied to my face and my gels were way overdue, I would have left knowing Serina was stuck on the otherside of the pass near Seattle! This place was awful! I went for a cut and color and the girl who did my hair isn't who I scheduled with and her friend sat next to us and gossiped and made fun of others while getting services. I felt like I was in high school surrounded by mean girls. I asked for my cut to be v sharp with layers and I ended up with straight across. read more

I called to ask about chemical hair straightening and to see what brand of it is offered. I got transferred three times and the third person who I was told was an instructor told me they didn't offer any except hair straightening with a flat iron even though it's listed on the page as a service they offer. read more

This is one review based on one experience but my god... brace yourselves. Its a bad one. I came in for a haircut and style today and my stylist was Emily. I asked for long layers and face framing bangs (brought and showed a photo).. she bluntly said she doesn't know how to do that. She had to ask the instructor multiple (8) times throughout the haircut for how to do the next step and expressed frustrations under her breath about not knowing how to do it and how long it was going to take with friends and fellow students. She also asked a different instructor every time so I don't think anyone really got the full idea of what I requested and what was being done. She disappeared multiple times for several minutes to "go get product" etc. and she was found just chatting and gossiping with other friends. One of the other students came by during my haircut and started cutting my hair because Emily clearly didn't know what she was doing. Another student made a comment asking if Emily was just going to use ALL of her products and supplies. She asked me how I would like it styled once it was done (before she even started cutting). I told her twice I am not picky and would like her to just do a blowout with a round brush to show the layers and give a little volume. After multiple friends came by to check and sigh over the fact that she wasn't done, I get done with my *one-length haircut* and she just looks at me blankly and says, well I already blowdried your hair so I don't know what else you want me to do.. I can just put a little oil in it. I told her I would like it styled with a thermal product of some kind, she stared blankly with no ideas or suggestions. While her three other friends were loitering around and staring at me to leave, I just said it was fine the way it was and left. Let me just say I go to get my haircut at schools (AVEDA) on the regular because I am not picky and its usually a great experience with oversight from talented instructors. My first time at Paul Mitchell felt like I was in the way of Emily's social life and she had literally no competency or even INTEREST in learning how to cut hair. I hate to say I suspected the instructors were complacent in that as well. Yikes... so sorry to leave a bad review. There wasn't even an opportunity to give feedback in the salon like there is at AVEDA otherwise I would have kept it off of Yelp. read more

Every time I have had my hair done, it has turned out great! I have got some deep conditioning treatments, as well as a haircut and some fun colors. I came in to do a simple toner and a haircut, but while my services were being done an instructor named Cynthia was being unbelievably rude and arrogant to my hair stylist. In the past week I have come in for a manicure, hair style, and a facial. The student stylist are great; full of energy, eager to please the client, and all seemed super friendly and just excited to be there. If this review were based solely on the stylists I would hands down give a 5 star rating. However there are several reasons why I felt a lower rating was necessary. First the manicure; every color nail polish I picked out was dried up, including every bottle of base and top coat. And I will give the student stylist credit, she really tried her best to find base and top coat bottles. I shocked to hear her instructor tell her that she should probably buy some to keep in her kit since the school did not always keep that stuff stocked. The school should make sure that all necessary supplies are readily available. Even though it's a school I am still paying for this service. My second issue was with the room that the facial was done in. Again, the stylist was amazing and I loved the facial itself, but the massage table was dirty when we walked in and was so stained and ripped that it gave the appearance of being unsanitary which made it uncomfortable to lay down in. (The student stylist had to wipe down the bed and change out the used paper that had been left on the bed.) Again the student stylist was great, what I would expect from the Paul Mitchell name. However the lack of proper supplies and the dirty facial room were so far below the Paul Mitchell reputation that I was expecting. read more

My daughter was in today for a color. Cynthia did a great job. I think she was really nervous about it at first but it turned our great. My daughter was very happy with the results. The instructor was very friendly as well. I wish I had gotten her name. This was our first experience at the school and we were very pleased. We will both be back as we signed up for the monthly membership. I have had my hair done by many stylist with years of experience who did mediocre work. Got my hair and beard done by a fine young gentleman, believe his name was Kostya. Did absolutely flawless work. Just the way I had envisioned it. Took his time making sure every hair was perfect. Blended in very smooth, no lines visible. He also lined my beard up perfectly. Been to other barbers before that totally messed up my beard that I'd been working on for a couple months. Very pleased with the way he cleaned me up. Ten out of ten would recommend him. Best pupil that I've ever gotten my hair done by. Awesome job sir! read more

I got a full set of eyelash extensions from Melissa (Missy) Belyea and they are AMAZING! She was so gentle, open to suggestions from her instructor and very informative. The people here were so friendly and nice. My color turned out really nice, but my cut was so choppy in the back. I really wish the instructor had checked it when it was dry. My student did not show me the back of my hair before I left. She was very sweet but I think she could have used a bit more supervision. She seemed eager to learn but not self confident. read more

I came here a week ago to get just a simple hair cut. My hair is totally uneven. I am not upset with the lady who cut my hair. I totally understand these are students, and they're learning. I am very upset with her teacher, who checked my hair cut, and told her, "good job, it looks great". I trusted that if the teacher told her it looked good, then it was good. Nope. I'm going to have to go elsewhere to get my hair evened up. If these teachers want these students to succeed, they need to help them, and be honest and tell them when they don't do a good job. Just setting them up for failure when you tell them they did a good job when it's clear they did not. Wish I would have checked my hair before I left, instead of trusting the teacher. read more

I had a facial last Wednesday by Madi and it was a wonderful experience. She was very attentive to what I wanted and to my sensitive skin. When she checked in with her supervisor before the facial she asked her really good questions and the teacher was very good at asking me questions about my skin and my expectations so that she could give Madi the very best answers. Well since apparently the school could care less all I can do is try to warn you guys. Igor my hair dyed by an INSTRUCTOR and it was the worst experience of my life. Not only were they rude but the instructor continuously left and kept bleach on my hair did much longer than it should've been. They ruined my jean jacket and all that told me to do was cover it with sharpie. To top it all off they charged me before even showing me my gate which should've warned me as to what I was going to see. I went in for blonde hair and after being allowed about 5 seconds to lookin the mirror I saw purple orange yellow white and, lucky me, a little blonde. And all fir $125. And yes, I said this was an instructor. Nothing was done to try and fix this and I'm sure nothing ever will be despite multiple attempts to contact them. Don't give this company your money. They only care about making profit off of you. read more
