Subject: Nearly three weeks have elapsed without a response despite his three attempts to contact the office for an appointment. The most negligent dentist practices in Corona. 1st week of September, my partner visited the dentist due to excruciating discomfort. He was informed that his insurance coverage needed verification and was subsequently sent home, enduring unbearable tooth agony that impeded his ability to eat. He inquired whether the Dental Insurance had been validated, and they informed my partner that the individual responsible for checking coverage was out of the office. "They should never make a patient wait, because one of their employees was out of the office that day or week! pretty much they told my partner !! nothing they can do until that person gets back . Two weeks! Time elapsed without a call, prompting him to phone again; they were in the process of verifying his insurance, which is a PPO, allowing him to utilize it at any preferred location with excellent dental coverage. 3 weeks and they couldn't verify his Dental insurance !! this is HORRIBLE!! After around 2.5 weeks of persistent callbacks, he ultimately conceded defeat. The pain he was in was so bad I took him to another Dentist office where he was seeing immediately and get the best service and feeling better. Professionals in the dental billing sector would assert that verifying insurance does not require nearly three weeks; often, one only needs an individual's Social Security number, address, full name, and date of birth to confirm coverage, which may take as little as 24 hours. That is all. I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN HE CALLED ABOUT 3 TIMES ASKING TO SCHEDULE AND THE ANSWER WAS " WE HAVE NOT VERIFIED YOUR DENTIAL PLAN?? REALLY 3 WEEKS TO A VETERAN!! TO SOMEONE THAT WAS IN PAIN!!!!!!!! The dentist's office neglected to respond, failing to return the patient's calls despite three attempts to book an appointment, reflecting a lack of professionalism!! Do not place your trust in this dental practice, as you will not receive a callback if someone is unavailable, or you may not receive any communication whatsoever. I came to Dr. Noorvash's office, and honestly, it was a great experience (as great as a root canal can be-- lol). From the moment I walked in, the team got started right away. Dr. Noorvash could tell I was nervous, and he took the time to explain what a root canal is and exactly what he was going to do. That really helped ease my anxiety. He was kind, efficient, and I genuinely felt like he cared about my comfort throughout the entire process. I was in and out in about an hour and a half. Well I learned don't go by distance, convenience, or even reviews (sometimes). Based on the reviews here I decided to give Noorvash a call. I stated on the phone with the office lady that I need to know the price for a consultation, and let her know what insurance I exactly have. She did not give a fee, but rather assured me while making this appointment that if my insurance didn't cover the consult, that I would be advised of this before being seen. She re-assured me twice that I would not have any costs incurred without my knowledge. After filling out the relevant paperwork and insurance information I was called in to the dentist seat. I was taken to the dental seat where immediately I noticed the outdated equipment, technology, and Worn Out fabric...yes the reclining seat had wore out arm rests, and foot rest areas (cracked w/ threads showing). This was a sign to RUN, but I stiffed it out and sat there for x-rays. Not to my surprise, the x-ray machine and system was super ancient--the whole experience didn't feel clean or up to date at all...talk about being stuck in the 90's! I was then hastily given an estimate for endo treatment, for which Noorvash wanted to begin right away. He mentioned the possibility of multiple issues and various costs that may arise outside of his facility, so I decided to wait for a second opinion before proceeding. He didn't like that, even though he knew I was going to walk out the door, he tried to strongarm me into a CT scan for $200 cash out of pocket--a last ditch effort... Uhhhh nooo? Bye! When walking out I got stopped by the lady up front, and she said that she just found out my insurance would not cover the consult and I would have to pay cash. I asked her why I wasn't informed earlier of this and she said the ins. co. was busy and hard to get ahold of at that time of the month. That's obviously her problem, or her mistake because she never informed me of this before going in! I don't even think this is legal??? Start charging at the exit without ever being told the costs before? I was so disappointed, and frustrated at the same time, I just paid it. In the end I got a second opinion, and it was a real honest one that's saving me thousands of dollars. The Dr. with the second "honest" opinion definitely gained my trust for a lifetime! I greatly appreciated her patience and kindness. Rosie was extremely quick and efficient with the x-rays. She is very sweet and welcoming - a pleasure to talk to as always! My father has a complex medical history and difficulty tolerating long procedures. Dr. Chen was extremely patient and professional. The root canal was done on a tooth under an existing bridge, which required great skill, and the procedure went smoothly with minimal discomfort. My mother also had a root canal on a wisdom tooth on one side. Dr. Chen handled it with great care, and her recovery was smooth. For my actual treatment, I worked with Dr. Han. I was very pleased with my experience with her. I asked a lot of questions and she took her time to answer them thoroughly so that i was comfortable and knowledgeable. Sometimes when i ask questions , people get offended as if im questioning their work but she did not get that way at all. she understood that i was interested in what was going on with my health and didnt rush through it. this made me feel so much better . I asked her to numb me slowly and she did. at other places i sometimes get a little anxious after the lidocaine but here i did great. Throughout the treatment they made sure I was ok and went at my pace if i needed breaks. after getting my 2 root canals I am doing well. An hour later, after Dr. Rana Skaff had pronounced "root canal, retreatment" of my bottom R rear molar, I was headed to Dr. Jack Yu and his team of pros at Grandview Endodontics. Everyone that I interacted with, from Office Manager DARLENE to dental nurses JUDY and UELSY to the (very) good doctor himself were consummate pros. They nimbly squeezed me in for a 1:30pm appt despite never hearing of me til 10:30am. They took their diagnostic X-Rays with gentle yet efficient care, treating the swollen, painful tooth; the pain so gnarly it was radiating to my jaw bone and pulsing in perfect synchronized time w/ my heartbeat. Dental Nurse Judy and Dr. Yu work beautifully together! Watching them -eyeballs close yet strangely detached due to multiple rounds of local anesthesia administered- is like watching an orchestra. Each person anticipating the other's need then flashing forward to meet it. I was in the chair, from diagnostic X-Rays to finance/insurance docs to actual treatment, from 1:45pm til 3:35pm. Time immeasurably well spent considering the world of misery I was in for the preceding 48hrs 'til I could get treatment. Pro Q- Is it meeeh or do most infections requiring root canal start on the weekend, when the vast majority of dentists/endodontists are unavailable?! Pro Tip- Dr. Yu is a major proponent of utilizing Gentle Wave / Clean Flow technology as an accompaniment to his root canals. Let him!!!
