I love Dr. Cavallo's office…read more I came here for an evaluation after I hurt my knee and went to Stamford Hospital ER and they told me I sprained my knee. A week and a half later my knee still didn't feel right. I made an appointment to go to Dr. Cavallo. He was real thorough. After he did the test. He diagnosed me with a torn meniscus in my right knee, he even said you can get a second opinion if I would like. He does a lot of them, he him self has even had the surgery. I was very surprised since Stamford hospital was so off with my diagnosis. Dr. Cavallo actually did my surgery and I was very nervous because this was my first surgery. He put me at ease and did my surgery perfectly. Recovery was long and one of the toughest things I've had to do through no fault of his. I also started physical therapy in the same office with James Caroleo and he and his team who have also been wonderful. I would highly recommended Dr. Cavallo office for your orthopedic needs.

He first tried conservative measures which helped some of the pain, but we progressed in measured fashion to an epidural injection which alleviated 80% of my pain. I was still recovering from left rotator cuff surgery, but I have to say that I suffered much more from the herniated disc. Dr. Heftler always responded promptly with compassion and a detailed explanation of his treatment plan. I could also get a rapid phone responses and appointments with him. His down to earth demeanor and sense of humor always reassured me and I left his office with an optimistic outlook. I only required one of a potential three epidural Injections and with gentle stretching, PT and most of all, patience I am now pain free. I waited until I could make this statement after playing 2 consecutive rounds of golf in Florida before I posted this review- 3 months after my MRI. He is a great clinician and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to avoid back surgery after a significant herniated disc. Update: I discovered Doctor didn't provide prescription then was not in the office this following week which is why I didn't receive the promised prescription by email. After another call to the office today, I was promised a "generic prescription" would be emailed. It never arrived so I left yet another message. It's amusing though that during this time I've received 3 surveys about quality of care at this office!

When supply shortage meant the walker wasn't available, he approved another option within few minutes (thus ensuring I got walker the next day rather than week or more out.) I should heal in a few weeks enthused. Additionally appreciate that he treated me professionally. My friends took care of telling me to ditch shoes, get rid of loose rugs, and more. I would have been fine if she had politely told me that unfortunately, that is the rate, and perhaps atleast pretended to be helpful/understanding. However, she seemed very agitated and had an attitude that really turned me off. I had received a positive referral to see Dr. Brodsky but decided to cancel my appointment on the spot because of Sara/Sarah. This is really an unfortunate way to turn off new patients.
