This was the best haircut I've had in years. I was a visitor from out of town and found Pauline by doing some online research. She is thoroughly professional: expert with her tools, friendly, and unhurried. I'm in my eighties and don't have much hair, but Pauline went through the entire drill as if I were a younger man with a headful of hair. My eyebrows are a thicket, which she trimmed and shaped expertly. She shaved my neck with a straight edge razor and finished with a hot towel. Heaven! Her shop is clean, easy to get to, and there is plenty of parking. It doesn't get much better than this for a trip to the barbershop. read more

I tried to find a hair salon all morning in Santa Fe that could take me because I wanted to look good because I was performing at the Santa Fe Opera this evening, but no one had any time, and most of them were not even answering their phones, and the ones that did said that they might not have time until next week! My hair hadn't been cut in more than a decade and so I had no idea where to go. Chose this place based upon Yelp reviews and was amazed. Pauline did an such a spiffy job that all the other customers in the shop were agog, at a price I thought was very reasonable. She made me look almost respectable again. Almost. My only complaint is the wait, about an hour. Given the results I got, the hour wait was well worth it. I may wait another decade to get my hair cut again but if I don't and I am in Santa Fe, she won a repeat customer. read more

Went online and found Pauline's Barber Shop listed. After calling I was happy to find out that she only took walk-ins. She is a wonderful person, very friendly and an excellent barber. Her many years as a barber was very evident as she cut my hair exactly as I had asked. Even when two other customers walked in, she didn't rush through but carefully finished cutting my hair. I moved to Santa Fe 6 months ago and have been getting my hair cut at Pauline's every 2-3 weeks since. I originally started with Pauline but if she has someone in the chair I go to Nanette. I would say both of them are fantastic. I have a thick head of hair with double cowlicks so I like to keep it neat. I can say I consistently walk out with good haircut no matter who did it. My usual Barber was out of town and I was in need of a cut! After reading countless reviews, I decided to give this place a try. The shop is in a nice place. For me, that is usually a way of knowing how the barbers conduct their business. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Pauline is the best! I keep my head shaved and have a beard. She has helped groom my chin hairs for several years and she has always done a very clean & proper job. It comes out looking even and has the shape I like. She does the job without taking too much off, unlike most other barbers who claim to work on beards. My wife and I have been getting our hair cut by Pauline since before she moved to this new location, and she's the best in Santa Fe. Nanette, her associate, is also excellent. You can't go wrong with either of them, and the price is very reasonable. It's great that Pauline now has her own shop, which is very spacious and nice. I got there just a few minutes before closing but Pauline was very welcoming and sat me in the chair. I was a bit nervous in that she faces you away from the mirror and I didn't know what to expect.
