Nice small practice , easy to get an appointment and wait time is not bad at all , Drs are nice and thorough. I usually see Dr.Paul or Dr Catherine and im satisfied with both . A little pushy on vaccines which i hate but i thinks its all doctors,one day they will get the message and stop wasting their breathe about trying to inject poison into my kid but otherwise this place is awesome !!!!! read more

My child is sick. Came here 10 minutes earlier hoping to register her and go in at the scheduled time. It is already an hour passed the appointment time and we are still waiting. What can I say?? This practice has gone way downhill - we've going here for 8 years and the front office desk has gone from helpful to surly; it can take forever to get on the phone to make an appointment (last time I spent 20 minutes on hold); and they forgot to give my daughter a required immunization at her last appointment! Really disappointing. I was hoping that many of the issues were due to the old office being kind of small but sadly eels to not be the case. read more

My two children have been patients of Dr. Paul, Dr. Nick, and Dr Roa, for the past six years. This practice has phenomenal, attentive doctors AND staff. The office used to be a little small and very busy, but they have moved to a bigger facility with a sickness and wellness, room. I have never had a problem with waiting to be seen, since the practice is so busy, but I have witnessed over the past six years plenty of mothers throw tantrum's,and meltdowns, over the wait time, because they couldn't be seen fast enough Any negative review on here about this office is from some impatient parent, whose world revolves around them. Maybe if you didn't treat the staff like garbage they might be friendly back, so clearly the issue is with you. Again, 6 year patient, never one single issue with anyone in this practice. read more

The doctors are excellent, but the attendants are horrible, uneducated, if you are not Greek and do not speak English well they do little of you. And if your child needs to go because of an emergency, they treat you even worse. They talk to each other, when you say Hi, I would like to make an appointment, the attendant shouts, Sorry, you have to wait. The doctors are good, but they should change the attendants. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this Dr...He is friendly, patient and excellent with the children.. He was born to be a Pediatrician..The main Dr. is Apostolis Tsoumpariotis (Dr. Paul) and he has Dr. Cathy that fills in and shares the office. She is also lovely, patient and gentle.... We have been going to his Astoria office for about 4 years now and the wait time has never been an issue...If a child is sick, it is understandable, there may be a wait, but they will always see your child...And he is worth it... I have never felt rushed or misguided...My baby was sick during last winter and were given a nebulizer in the office and we received a phone call on New Years Eve at 11:40 pm to check in...The few times I have called the answering service, he has called back within minutes... I can appreciate his expertise and professionalism...My kids love him and his staff! I hope he will be our Pediatrician until they are grown:-) read more

I am giving this place two stars because the doctors are wonderful. However, the wait time at this place is very long. Sometimes you have to wait 1-2 hours to see the doctor. The waiting room is very crowded. And the staff is extremely rude and they definitely book more than their capacity. They show preference towards certain people while treat others like crap. I have heard the staff say things like "pedia go away" (go away kids). They think that they can say things in Greek because we don't understand. I am giving this place two stars because the doctors are good. However, there are other well run clinics with a nice friendly staff where you don't have to wait an eternity to see a doctor. I don't recommend this place unless you have a lot of time on your hand and patience to deal with a a very rude staff. I cant believe that they make patient's hold for up to 20 minutes in order to get an appointment. read more

Take my review with a grain of salt. First, full disclosure, this office is not a primary doc for my little man and we did not have an appointment. I am not dramatic, but I just have to write a review on my experience. My primary doc was closed on Saturday morning and my little mans sickness peaked Friday night. So we get there early Saturday morning, literally like one of the first 3 families there, I think it was 9:45am, blasted through the usual drill of first time patient, insurance and paper work, fine. As time passes, the waiting room fills up and we are still waiting and waiting, people that came in after us have come and gone. I know doc offices usually schedules appts in like 15-20 min clips, understood. And, with an appt, you usually have to wait. Anyhow, after waiting 1 hr and 15minutes my wife and I were wondering what is going on. During the long wait, we watched the receptionist greet some people with smiles and side chats and others with a sour stuck-up tone (I think we were one of them). Fine, people have good days/minutes/hours and bad, understood. I get it.. Oh, and some families that came and went, went into the back rooms out of order, still no clue how it is supposed to work... With the room filled, I was slightly impatient and politely asked when we would be able to go in, she replied there are 2 more ahead of you, great, at least we finally had an idea how much longer the wait would be. Out of curiosity, I then ask about their policy regarding walk-in patients as opposed to making an appointment, with the room filled with people. And wow, it's like she didn't have a tongue to speak with or just didn't want to speak in front of people, she kept telling me to read the 1 page notice on the desk and she said I'll print it for you... I declined and just asked her politely so I would know going forward how their office worked. Some random helper in the office said in a demeanor tone, you didn't have an appt which is why you have to wait, I guess the ladies had their own little chat about my walk in, besides the point, I was talking about a going forward appt. I chalked her comment off as a fly in the air. Long story short, I asked the next time I come back with an appt, I should not have to wait, correct? and again she responded with reading the notice and then she finally said, the notice states you have to come in 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment. Cool, for those that do go there, who really reads the 4 or so one page notices?!?! no one really reads them, especially since the print is so small. Well, after she said that, 1 other family, I'm guessing with an appt asked about their wait time and another family kind of were talking to each other like why are we still waiting... To wait in the Docs office is fine, and I totally understand and get it, each patient requires different amounts of time. But just take the time to explain that, the receptionist should be a people person. And if you can't deal with it, don't sit in the seat. Now to the Doctor part which was a lady, very nice lady. She even sucked some yellow/green boogies out of my little man's nose, checked his chest which was clear and sent us off with a boogie sucker, no meds. We wound up going to our primary doctor Sunday morning, without an appointment, and a 20 minute wait... It was like hitting the lotto. We went home with a 4 day antibiotic treatment, I guess every Doc has their own way of diagnosing, but little man was finally getting better on Monday and started sleeping through the night... ***Speak to people the way you would like to be spoken to regardless of ethnicity,age or level of English.*** read more

We have been using Dr. Paul's services for 3 years now and can only say words of praise. We absolutely loved the fact that he treats his patients as if they we his own children. He will definitively try everything to keep the kids off the medication( like antibiotic) before resorting to this. Plus he will explain to you what to do in simple language so you don't walk out of there wondering `what? `. Always responsive to urgent phone calls and will return the call promptly. Very easy to make appointments sometimes even on the day of if they are not to busy. Definitely recommending for anyone and especially those who are a little weary of taking kids to doctors without known recommendation. read more

Excellent practice. Dr. Paul & Dr. Roa are exceptional and I am so fortunate that my babies were in their care when they were so young and so fragile. When someone takes care of your kids the way have, you can't help to be eternally grateful. All three pediatricians are THE BEST pediatricians in NYC. My child was on a delayed vaccine schedule and they were so easy to work with and help us catch up at OUR pace without judgement. When my son got the flu, they saw him on the same day and he was fine in less than a week. When my toddler started crying, they made him feel comfortable. How many doctors do you know nowadays that put the child first? What a wonderful experience. read more

I LOVE Dr. Cathryn.. I've written a review before about this place and i just had to again she has been seeing my son since he was 2 months old and now a toddler at 2 years he started walking a little weird almost with a limp i took him straight to see Dr. Cathryn after she saw him and took a good look at him walking she told me to go to a children's hospital so that i can get an X-ray and the results that same day bc she did not want to wait to order one (it takes long to get the X-ray and wait for the results) she wanted both her and i to get results that same day make and sure it wasn't a fracture. Next morning i called to let her know what the X-ray said she called me back almost right away and told me she looked at the X-ray and confirmed what the ER docs said and when she asked me about following up with the pediatric orthopedic doctor i explained to her that i had called to try to make an appointment with the one who was referred to me and their secretary said they don't take children under 4 yrs and all these weird policies and if i did get an appointment it wouldn't be till mid september or october! that was too long as i needed to know why my son was all of a sudden walking different and limping .. NOW THIS IS WHY SHE IS AMAZING!.. she stopped me in the middle of my sentence and said "you know what I'm going to call them myself and i will call you right back" and after about 30-40 mins I get a call from her not the receptionist but Dr. Cathryn herself with an appointment made for the very next day first thing at 9 am and gave me the room, dr. name and directions and explained to me she won't be in tomorrow but she will be in on thursday and will call me to find out what the specialist said and to make sure everything went smoothly! I LOVE that she took time out of her busy day bc i know they get busy there in the office to make the call herself to get in touch with a doctor and make sure my son got an appointment for the very next day not next month like that receptionist was going to make do. and after the fact rather than having a receptionist call me and give me the info which would have been fine too but she calls HERSELF to make sure she spoke with me. That just shows she really cares about her work and what she does to go that extra mile! I don't really write reviews but i think parents who are looking for great doctors to care for their kids should know that there are still doctors out there who care and are more than willing to help and Dr. Cathryn is one! read more

I love Dr. Paul but his staff in Astoria need some customer service training on how to speak over the phone. I find them very rude and they seem unhappy, if you don't like working with people then you shouldn't be at a doctor office especially one so busy as this one. They have no people skills and that makes the doctor look bad because they are his employee, I don't understand how Dr. Paul who is friendly and funny and such an outgoing guy have a staff who are so unpleasant to deal with.
