Shoutout to a great staff! It's a popular place and we had about a 30 minute wait but we also came with a bachelor party group so we knew we would have to wait. But the staff was really accommodating and had great service. Shoutout to our server Cindee (if I mispelled your name, apologies!) But she did great serving 18 of us! My group sat in a separate table but the rest of the guys had a cool long table. We also got to see our boy do a toast with everyone so that was a great vibe. The food was really good too! I had the ribs with mashed potatoes and I ate every single rib too! The table had hot wings and onion rings for appetisers. We have been going to Paul's Pub for probably 20 years. Have never had a bad meal or experience here. They are known for their fish dinners. Yes they are terrific, we have enjoyed many of them. However, they also offer the best Broasted Chicken I have ever had. It's always hard to decide. This time we went on a Saturday evening, we were craving Prime Rib and had never had it here. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful and seasoned well. Their entrees come with 2 sides, we both had a side salad, I had mashed potatoes and gravy, my wife had a baked potato and meals come with a dinner roll and butter. The restaurant was updated a few years ago, decor is nice, clean with a lively, family friendly atmosphere. The staff is always attentive, awesome service and takes good care of us. If you're heading North on I-75 and don't mind a short drive take the downtown Gaylord exit, head E to Johannesburg, about 20 minutes. It's worth the drive. You wont be disappointed. read more

We've eaten at Paul's Pub a couple times now while vacationing in Michigan. Dear Friends of ours also vacation in Michigan while we're there and it's become an annual outing to meet "in the middle" for dinner. For the last two years we've met at Paul's Pub! It's generally crowded at the dinner hour but that does not diminish the prompt, friendly service. The food has an excellent home cooked taste. I've had the perch dinner and their broasted chicken dinners; both tasty and filling. My wife also loves the broasted chicken. I had a house salad dressed with their house made vinaigrette that is equally delicious. It's a great place for us to connect with great Friends over great food. Paul's Pub was recommended by a delivery person. I was unable to find a specific location on Google Earth, however, other searches pulled it up. If you are searching for a restaurant that serves great food, reasonable prices in a warm atmosphere, this is a great selection! For years, I was unable to find a restaurant that served a chicken dinner. Not sandwiches or something disguised in a sauce, but broasted chicken dinner with sides. Well, this is the spot! Four pieces, cooked at ordering, tasty, moist and met my expectations. The menu has variety and other menu meals at adjacent tables appeared to be equally tempting. Our server was extremely friendly and was able to provide insights into the 50 plus year history of the pub, but also coming events at the pub and area all the while making sure our meal was pleasant. This was our first visit, but this is now on our short list! We recommend Paul's for an enjoyable meal. read more

WOW! Grab a chair and relax as I take you on a lengthy review of how great this place is and to test how much good one is allowed by yelp to write about a dining establishment. If you don't have to patience to read my novel- come on in the food is good and the service is even better. Being featured in Martha Stewart Living for their Perch basket, this should be on everybody's radar and everyone's "go-to" place while traveling in northern Michigan. A tourist destination for sure, with the walls decorated in antlers and stuffed game. The cabin feel makes this the perfect up north dining destination. Guys night out? Huge bar in the center of the restaurant and plenty of pull tabs and keno to play. Just about a 15 minute drive from downtown Gaylord and you won't regret the small town charm this place brings. Stopped in with my family and had a great experience. Being a weekday at 5 this place was not busy at all. Parking lot is huge and has a gas station next to it so if you snowmobile this would be a great winter dinner spot. My wife ordered the wings and potato skins, and I ordered the half perch basket. My kids went with the kids quesadilla and the grilled cheese. Some of the best made kids meals I have seen in awhile, I would order the quesadilla for myself... and yes the kids menu has plenty of kids options, even the pickiest eater (my child) had options... More on the food... The wings were a 10/10. Crispy and tossed in a mild hot sauce. This place has an entire broasted chicken section and feature a wing Wednesday special. And yes, 10x better than Buffalo Wild Wings. My perch basket is a show stopper. No question why this was featured in Martha Stewart. Lightly battered, flakey, and delicious. The perch basket comes with 2 sides and a roll for a great price. We ordered potato skins as a appetizer and these were not skimpy in anyway, just look at the picture and you can see that there was a pound of crispy bacon on top. And the service! We had the pleasure of being in Linda's section... and she has to be the nicest, most thoughtful server we have ever had. From Bringing out kids crayons and asking if we wanted chocolate milk immediately you could tell she understood what it's like to dine with young children and wanted us to enjoy our time. She went the extra step and put the Welch's fruit snacks in my coat pocket knowing not to give them wind of the scent of these prized snacks. She went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed down to wipes for the kids or maybe for me after digging into the wings. 6 stars out of 5 stars. Service very slow at lunch on a Friday. I ordered the famous perch that got them featured in some magazine decades (?) ago. Was really bad. Floppy, soft, not fresh fish. Took leftovers home and didnt even want to eat them when I was drunk and starving. Fries and onion rings were good. Broccoli was room temp. Restaurant is cozy in a good way. Seems like a locals-type place. Came again Saturday evening and dozens of bad, boring songs were pre-played in jukebox. Wasted my money trying to play songs. Their AMI jukebox happened to have disabled the ability to pay extra to have your song given priority. So if you like to go to a bar on a Saturday night and listen to Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Jack Johnson and the three currently most famous male country artists, you're all good. Otherwise this place is a huge downer. There is no way a patron made those music selections. Michael Buble is listed as one of the ten most popular selections at this place. That's not possible without extreme shenanigans. The service at the bar was not bad. But the food isn't great and the atmosphere at bar time is really, really bad. read more

My husband and I have not been terribly impressed with their steaks. Nice cuts of meat, but in our opinion they are bland. Not seasoned well. Teresa was a very poor server. Asked us if we wanted our appetizers with or before the meal, we said before. We received our appetizers with the meal. I had asked for ranch with my cheese sticks, received sour cream. She never came back to ask us about her meal until there was empty plates at the end of the table. Paul's pub has very good food with a wide range of options avialable. They have pizza, steak, sandwiches, fish, and even healthy salad options. I have eaten their grilled salmon and it is very good. Not over cooked or anything highly recommended. Their salads are also very good with lots of fresh greens and vegetables thrown in and they are served on a very large dinner plate too. Only complaint is that service can be slow sometimes. One Sunday evening it took around 45 mins to get our food after ordering. read more

We bought our forever home in Atlanta, MI., like 6 months ago. Stopped in this place on our way home from Gaylord. This place is a A+. The broaster Chicken is fabulous along with there homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything we've had has been fantabulous. Friendly, clean and tastefully decorated. The waitstaff are so friendly and helpful. They made I feel like family. Our favorite go to restaurant always. The prices aren't bad either compared to the portion size. Try dessert if you have room. Never again! Service and food quality have been going down for a while but our visit tonight still has my head shaking. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a friendly host-that's a plus! Our server was friendly too but VERY slow. Food was bland with little flavor, I could make better at home! Spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer was watery and super bland. I ordered the Chicken Ranch Wrap which had little to no ranch and was mostly lettuce. I usually never send good back but had to send this back! My Mother ordered shrimp which were very salty, soggy, and small for the price ($19.49!). The bill was incorrect in a few different ways and after hosting the wrap (which was nice) they charged me for the fries that CAME with the meal!!!!! We were there just under two hours for an appetizer and two entrees. We will continue to go to the Lewiston Lodge for amazing northern Michigan food! read more

Since my best friend moved to Lewiston with her two mentally handicapped brothers she cares for, we had been planning to come there next time I am visiting. No more. She was there with the boys last night and they were grossly mistreated. A kitchen staffer had told one of the boys the bathroom was outside and he went out looking for it.
