This is by far the worst company I ever dealt with. They did the most terrible job of leveling my…read moreexisting patio pavers and the installation of an added paver patio with re sanding and sealing the complete areas. The pavers sunk a month later and they would not come back to fix the poorly installed add on patio nor the areas that were supposed to be leveled as that area retained water a couple of weeks later. This job was done in November and in the spring weeds were coming through the paver joints and when I called to complain he told me to spray weed killer. What!!!!! I think they used water to seal my pavers. Why would weeds grow in the cracks in the spring. That was one of the main reasons I let them re sand and seal my existing patio as well as the new one. With continuous promises of coming back they never did. I tried for over a year. Plus the man that came out to estimate the job said his name was Jim (their estimator) when in fact, he is the owner and his real name is Styliano (Steve) Koskinas. Since he has a worker that is now listed as the owner, Heather Proza. He is listed as the owner of Hy-Tech landscaping. Heather was the person that fixed my landscape lighting and seat wall that they had sent out. What a joke this man and his businesses are. There is definitely something shady going on with this man and his two businesses. Hy- Tech Landscaping and Pave Brite listed at the same location which is a house in New Lenox. Additionally, they constructed two 15-foot long stone masonry "knee" walls (approximately 3 feet tall) with taller columns. While this sounds straightforward, the work involved was significant; there were previous cement slabs to be removed, a trench of roots where old trees and a hedge shrub wall once lived, a tree to remove, drain tile to re-route, and electric work run underground to the columns for cap lights. The business owner (Dave) was patient and thoughtful in making several trips for the initial consultation with ideas, options, and advice - yet listened carefully and non-judgmentally to my own. This is a skill set in its own right as I don't know anything about landscaping, but he was able to listen to my words and translate them into landscaping language and appropriate options. Additionally as the work progressed and more ideas came to mind, Dave was able to discuss them. Lastly, when I asked that additional work beyond the scope of the initial plans be added on (such as removing and disposing of old chain link fencing) so that future work would be possible there were zero complaints and I wasn't price-gouged. His work crew is skilled and are truly "landscapers" - not lawn cutters (there's a difference). I learned that his foreman has been with the company for 25 years. This is a company where the employees are clearly invested in the business' success and vice versa. The employees know what they're doing and are much more than simple laborers. Dave has the gift of vision for what a property can look like despite its current (in my case terrible) state. He is enthusiastic yet also cost-conscious and does not up-sell you anything you don't need. In fact in my experience he was more likely to make suggestions to save money. At the onset of the work I was only asked for a down payment to cover the hold/purchase of a significant number of trees from the nursery. A Fresh Cut's employees were respectful of my property and the company is well-equipped for the work they do including skid steer, tractor, back hoe, and multiple heavy duty dumps. The employees worked hard at the grunt work that couldn't be performed by heavy machinery. Communication was constant and Dave remained patient and committed to the cause throughout. I was never under the impression that my job took a backseat to any other projects. I plan to use A Fresh Cut for future projects around my property, including patio and pond work.
