Many diverse shopping and eating opportunities. Palmer's Steakhouse, Zesti , the Phoenix, and Creole Cafe are only a few of your options. Piggly Wiggly is less than a mile away . Also Nixon Park is a great place to go walking and enjoying many activities they have . One we enjoy is free concerts during the summer . They have underground parking so you don't have to worry about taking your car ! If you want quite surroundings you can have that , or if you still want to enjoy nite life you can do that too . I enjoyed the residents, the delicious luncheons given by Nancy and Byron, the two libraries, easy access to exercise room, plus computer room. Nancy and Byron made sure that all was well at the Meadows, and so many visitors commented on the lovely decorations in the lobby. There was coffee hour three times a week, Thursday night Happy Hour, and often times residents went to Friday Night Fish Fries. The grounds were great for walking and reflection. The staff here was phenomenal--so kind, attentive, and compassionate. The individual rooms were really nice, large (easily accommodated multiple family and friends), and had comfortable furniture. The staff offered us pillows and blankets. They even had mini fridges and an outdoor patio with each room. The weather was nice when we were here so we often utilized every aspect of it. There are many spaces to use here aside from your loved one's room. They have a sun room, a grief/meditation quiet room, a living room, a dining room, patios, porches, and several garden spaces. Get this--the staff even provides brewed coffee, creamer, and sugar as well as fresh baked cookies. It was definitely a life-altering experience to have to watch someone deteriorate over the course of several days. The staff really helped create a sense of understanding and support throughout. It took me a few months to write this review or get back into everyday things like "yelping" after this, but here I am. I wanted to share what a wonderful home-like environment this was and what a unique facility. One powerful thing to note is that the have these faceless angels everywhere from the Willow Tree brand/series. You can pick them up and each individual angel has the name of a lost loved one and/or an inscription... so powerful. I guess, in summary, if hospice is what you're considering, I would hands-down recommend this place. My nana came out here from Brookfield.

Our entire family is beyond grateful to the angels for everything they did for my husband and our family. End of life is never easy no matter how you try to prepare for it. Kathy Hospice has the best loving angels who truly care. The hospice is peaceful and has a homelike atmosphere. Numerous wildlife outside can be seen from the windows. It is very serene. You and your loved ones are treated like family. I can never thank Kathy Hospice and their Angels enough for everything and words cannot express fully what an amazing place this is.

Since my father's passing (after my mother was already gone), I have been struggling for eight months with the accounting department. For one thing, they didn't close my father's account (under Alexian's contract) with Time Warner Cable and I had to deal with TWC directly in person to do so. They also sent an unauthorized debit to a closed bank account, incurring overdraft fees to me. Meanwhile, Alexian owes me money at this point for overbilling by their own admission, but they still haven't repaid me. My emails and phone calls are not returned by the ever changing staff, promises are not kept, and the whole situation has been exasperating. The administration is very disorganized and completely unprofessional. I can't believe I'm still having to deal with this so long after my father's death.

I'm not Catholic, I'm giving you a sociological observation, the staff and administrators here exude sincere compassion driven by their faith. I do volunteer entertainment work so any assisted living-skilled nursing facility I review is going to be good at scheduling social activity and cultural stimulation for patients and residents, but St. Anne's seems extra special in this department. The outside isn't so attractive but the insides are clean and comfortable, the chapel is lovely and there are many friendly gathering rooms. Family and friends seem quite welcome but the most remarkable thing about this place is that the food is good, though they did foist some decaffeinated coffee on me.

I am gonna have to hold off on the care part of my review because the jury is out on this one and…read moreonly been recent that we moved a loved one to the assisted living from the independent living arrangement. it really is a long involved convoluted story , way to many details to write about. the move process to assisted living lacks support and any process. the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. the actual move in day was supposed to have a nurse meet with us,but this never happened. we were accused of not arriving on time, even though we did. We had no idea when dinner would be served, or when the meds would be administered. I asked multiple staff members for help and who I should be talking to since our arrival meet and greet never happened. I finally lost it, yes I did, and demanded to speak to "the nurse". I did not yell, but was real firm and stressed out in talking with one of the care coordinators and so was our loved one. Finally the person who was to meet with us earlier in the day comes barreling in the room like she was ready for war. We were accused of yelling, yes yelling at her staff. Not true, yes I was firm, but did not raise my voice. she starting spewing that she had 60 people to care for! Guess our loved one was not in that number. She lied about an email that was sent to us about dinner times, nope nothing like that existed. we asked where she was for the agreed upon range of time for our arrival, said she didn't see an email or have a call. we emailed her at 7:40 am and called when we arrived. only could leave a voice mail. We had to fight to have a TV installed, another story for another time. Lastly the most rude and appalling comment out of this persons mouth was that if we didn't like it we should go back to where we came from. my loved one is not only stressed out because of this encounter he witnessed in his room (she should have had the professional courtesy to suggest that we go to her office to talk) but he is afraid that he won't get the care he needs! BTW we are paying $6500 for this type of treatment. Pathetic to say the least.
