What a treat! The boss and I were looking for a bite to eat and decided on Paw Paw's. What a strange little building. History states it was an old wagon shop, car lot, burger place, pizza place and then back to the current burger place it is now. Lots of character and structural oddities. The staff is there is friendly, tentative and amazing! Service was top-notch! The boss and I really enjoyed the burgers. The thick cut bacon really set it off. I wasn't a super big fan of the fries, but they weren't bad by any means. ..I'm just picky. The boss raved about his Ultimate Tots, but curbed the chili offering for health reasons. I've driven by this place many times, but today I was hungry for a burger so I dropped in. I ordered a double cheeseburger and fries. The bill came to nearly $22. I know, "but muh inflation" keep in mind, no drink. I would expect that price in a fancy lounge with cocktails, but this place looks like a diner and has flies. The burger had a decent construction and a good flavor, but was overcooked. The tots were also good but not a generous portion. Overall my experience was overpriced and decidedly average. Per usual, I was on the hunt for a good burger place. Being from out of town, I had to rely on my fellow yelpers to lead me in the right direction and this place did not disappoint - for the most part anyway. The place is tiny and unassuming on the outside, and not much different on the inside. There are a hand full of tables with about half of them taken during our visit. Our waitress was very friendly and we were greeted right away. The water was so gross and tasted like dirt so I shared the kid's coke. I ordered the small size burger and asked if the patty was thin. I was told yes so I ordered a double (something I never do) with grilled onions and mushrooms and fries. Hubs ordered the patty melt with okra. The Good: Burger was bigger than anticipated and juicy (should have just ordered the single) Patty melt was yummy Okra was good Service was good and friendly The Bad: Expensive! Small double burger - $7.97 Patty Melt - $6.59 Sides - $3.29 x 2 Drinks - $2.49 x 3 (I was charged for my water!!!!) I don't get it..Why do we keep getting servers that lie to our faces? When the bill came our burger price jumped mysteriously. Luckily we caught it. Lying about it afterwards isn't going to help business. I'm not sure if we were singled out as tourists, or if they do this regularly. Either way, be sure to check your bill! I enjoy the occasional greasy spoon as much as the next person, but the food here is not that good. I had a Double burger, opted for no cheese (it came with Double cheese which server tried to convince me it comes with..nope, the menu was very clear). The beef had no flavor besides puddles of grease. The bun was cheap, like a grocery store type, and quickly was soggy and falling apart. My husband had one of their $11.99 special menu burgers. Bacon was undercooked and rubbery. He asked for the jalapenos on the side, didn't happen. Fries that came with it may have been fresh-cut, but they were limp and raw inside. Disappointing. Dining room as others have mentioned is very small. Food took a long while to come out. With all of the issues here, we'll be sure to go eat at the burger place across the street next time we're in town. read more

If you are ever driving through Chickasha Oklahoma you have got to stop and try Paw Paws. I stop in at Paw Paws for the first time on 7/3/19. The food was great. I had a cheeseburger and it took me back to my childhood. It reminded me of the ones grandma made. Oh I can't for get about the onion rings they were so good and cooked prefect. Take your receipt. I visited Paw Paws on Aug 3rd. Was having not such a great day any thought a good burger would help. I took it to go and the lady said my bill was $45 even. I wanted to like Paw Paw's, but honestly...it just wasn't that good. I decided on the single patty onion burger with a side of fries. There was really no taste to speak of...just an insane amount of grease. Don't get me wrong, I like eating a greasy burger every now and then, but this one was on another level of greasy. The fries were inedible. They seemed to have been home cut, but they weren't cooked all the way through, which led to a fry that had a slight crisp on the outside but that was mushy and cold on the inside. The saving grace of my visit is that the service was quite good. That being said, I spent over $10 on a burger and for the quality of the burger, it was not worth it. read more

What a great little dive! We stopped here on our way home from a Wichita Mountains hike as it was about the only place we could find open on a sunday afternoon in Chickasha. What a treat! I was pretty hungry after putting in a window at a rent house... Don't judge. Anyways I started driving down 4th street in search of a non-chain restaurant in Chickaha. There are a few but very few are open after 9pm on a weekday. I stumbled upon this hole in the wall that had the open sign still lit. I walked in around 9:05 and I got the feeling that they were closed. I asked if they were and the lady stated that they closed at 9, but she will check with the kitchen to see if the grill was still on. I could overhear the cook say "Bring it on". After watching movies like "Waiting" and working as a server, I know better than to order right at closing. I believe a sign outside had said that it was Famous Onion Burgers. Apparently having been open for over 4 decades (Opened in 1968) this place has survived thanks to its greasy goodness. My server was a cute girl that was polite and prompt. The other waitress was more concerned with playing the tickle game with her boyfriend in the corner. Mind you, it is after hours, so I shouldn't hold that against them. The place could use a cleaning in the dining area and the bathroom could use some work. The sink was blocked up so I was not going to attempt to use the toilet. As far as the food, it was a pretty good cheeseburger and the fries were hand-cut and hella greasy. I enjoyed every bit of them as I was worn out and starving. The overall courtesy of the older ladies and my waitress were on par and I would come out here if I am back in Chickasha area and greasy food is what I am craving. read more

Although the burger, chili and chips were well-made and delicious, the decor was appealing, and the (older) building was clean and neat, the joint is just not price competitive--it in fact costs much more than burgers that are much better. Another knock, the waitress was inattentive and slow. I ultimately had to get my table's drink refills while she talked to the cook or friends which, in a restaurant with only ten tops, is inexcusable. Here's what we all ordered: A small double burger A large double burger A Chicago Hot Dog A small triple burger A cheese fries A cheese fries deluxe A corn dog with fries Four drinks The fries were fresh cut, the chili was definitely homemade, so the chili cheese fries were good (I like American cheese on mine vs cheddar) The one order of unadorned fries were a little greasy, but fresh cut are like that and the taste, for me, is way superior anyway! The Chicago hot dog was not authentic but was so good, that it did not matter.
