Disappointing Business Practices Despite Good Grooming WARNING: While Paw Purrfection is kind to pets and does a good job with grooming, their pricing practices are extremely deceptive. Every single time I've brought my dog in, I was quoted one price--only to be charged significantly more at pickup. They always claim he was "very matted" (we brush him every day & he's a doodle..some matts to be expected,this is why I overpay A LOT for a bath & blow out) or needed extra services, resulting in a simple bath and brush-out being doubled in cost without clear notice or consent. With haircuts the price doubles. Because of this, I started trimming him myself and only requested a basic bath and blowout. I expressed frustration about the inconsistent pricing and the fact that appointments must be booked months in advance--due to staff turnover and inability to retain groomers (according to an employee of PP). Instead of improving communication, they flagged my account when I spoke up. I will never take my dog back here. Their lack of transparency, poor customer service, and retaliatory behavior are unprofessional and unacceptable. Kindness to pets is expected, but honesty and respect toward paying customers should be too. I agree with another negative review...very small grooming area and very hot for these poor dogs getting groomed, It's uncomfortable in the tiny waiting area, you can feel the heat from the small grooming room. read more

My 11 year old puppy is a bit of a drama queen. While he is a bold 85 lb German Shepherd/ Labrador Retriever mix, he does not play well with others. I called in and explained his anxieties and asked if the shop felt like they could trim his nails for me. Enrique was so friendly, and offered to get Anakin in at the end of the day (when there would be less possibilities for more dogs in the shop). I brought Anakin amin, and he went with Enrique to the back without fear or any nervous behavior. 15 minutes later, my sweet boy was back with his mom, ready to go home with nails that weren't tapping on the pavement! Totally great experience! Thank you Enrique for working with me and for being so great with Anakin. Keeping him healthy and happy and as stress free as possible has been my job...but it is great to see someone wants to make it a good experience for all parties. Appreciate your kindness! read more

When they were on Diane Street they were $10, then went up to $12, then $14 but now at the new location it's $25! We took our fluffy white Maltipo puppy here for his first grooming. We gave super clear instructions that we didn't want our dog shaved. Admittedly the puppy had some matting on his belly and hindquarters but the rest of him, including his head were perfectly adorable and clear of matting. When we picked up our little boy, I was shocked to see that he'd been shaved down to about an inch all over, completely ruining his adorable appearance. Hair will grow, it's not that big of a deal in the long run. But for $75 plus a tip, I expected that our clear instructions would have been followed. Don't go here if you want to be heard. We have been taking our poodle mix here for about a year and tried to give it a fair try but this last grooming was disastrous. I'm sure the team here is great with other breeds but based off my experience, doodles are not their forte. Here are my reasons for not returning: 1. Every time I told them to keep her teddy bear look, they gave her a poodle cut 2. 4 hours for a grooming appointment, where she is in a crate for prob half the time? No thanks. 3. Her privates are always shaved down to nothing and I can see her discomfort 4. I don't appreciate the lectures. She's a poodle mix, she's always going to have some minor matting nor do I find it necessary to groom her every 4 weeks. She's a well-taken care of pup thank you very much. 5. This last hair cut she wasn't even at her longest, and I show up and she is a complete bobble head - sure, I'm not a groomer but I don't think she needed to be shaved down, and if they really believed that they should have called me and asked for my permission 6. I know most dogs do not like the groomer, but every time I pick her up she is anxiety-ridden and clawing her way out All in all, not for me and if you have a poodle mix it's worth finding a groomer who knows how to do more than just a typical poodle cut on them. read more
