As far as pawn shops go, Pawn America is among the best. I'm always amazed at the selection that you find in this store, from musical instruments and construction equipment, to electronics, computer games and gaming equipment, clothing, movies, and much more. The store is clean, and usually there are a variety of staff people on hand to help you find what you're looking for. One complaint I have is that they need to go through their movies. It's pretty common to find about 60 copies of The Matrix or The Ring or other films. They could thin out the repeats and organize the selection a lot better. If you have a specific film you're looking for, especially a children's movie, it's like hunting for a needle in a haystack. Using barcode readers they could easily keep inventory that customers could access to find whatever they're looking for. I'm just sayin'... read more

I went into pawn American in St. Cloud, mn with four genuine diamond rings( one of the .5 ct and they offered me $10 for each. I'm not sure if they're just outright thieves or mentally dysfunctional but I'll never go through those doors again. read more

I walked in today but very disappointed they need to improve customer service & employees need more training on how much an item can be pawn or sell, I was standing there and the guy I'm talking with always asked somebody else about my item, obviously he doesn't know how to do his job so I just packed up my stuff and just walked away. read more

Do not I repeat DO NOT pawn any of your stuff at this location they are so deceiving, misleading with their information, regarding your item. I know it's business but this location needs to go!!! I live an hour and 10 minutes away from St. Cloud and decided to drive there today to do some major shopping. I went to Pawn America, bought a Nintendo Wii, went home, proceeded to set it up only to realize that they did not include the sensor bar which made the Wii useless. So now I have to drive an hour and 10 minutes back up there to return this. A replacement bar is pretty expensive and the closest place that would sell them is about 40 minutes away. This has happened several times before where I have Bought a product gotten home only to find out that it is defective or they forgot to include something. I'm not going to make any snap judgments just yet, but I just bought a drone and paid what I consider a lot of money for it. The staff were misleading, saying that they had not flown it for a while when I asked if they had tried it. So, either they never flew it at all and just said that to give me some type of sense of security, or they flew it and simply omitted information that would have been crucial to my decision because had they flown the drone they would have known about specific details that would have at the very least required a little more assurance on my end. Instead they simply wanted the item sold. Also when I asked about the price they said it was low becasue no one goes to pawn shops looking for drones, when in fact the price was almost the same as if I went to bet buy to purchase it. That's why you can't trust anyone these days. you may as well go out and rob someone it's no different is how I see it. We will see how they react to my returning it. read more

Very poor customer service. I went in on a Tuesday shortly after they opened for the day. I was looking for camera lenses. I stood in front of the case for a employee to come help. The only one around was talking to a sketchy looking guy who kept dropping F bombs and talking about his night. I walked out. I decided to give it a try again the next day in the afternoon. There was one other customer in there besides me that was looking around. A total of 5 employees, one that was checking someone out at the register. The other 4 where wandering around chatting to each other. Two that walked by me twice and didn't once offer to help or ask if I had any questions. Walked out again. This time for good. I will be making my way to the other Pawn Shop in town. read more

Used to love going there and have spent my share of money in the past, but they seem to have changed the upgrade rules, now you have a whole whopping 10 days if you want to return something for and upgrade. Not printed in receipts no one told me. I drove an hour to get there was going to spend 800 more dollars on an item but they said they would only give me 1/2 of what I paid 14 days ago on the original item. Well you just lost a long time customer. Not only me but two people ahead of me also said the same thing, way to keep business coming with your "it's the rules BS. " DONT go there they will just screw you over. read more

Pawn America is decent for a pawn shop. It has a large variety of items and feels clean. I like that it is brightly lite and the staff are friendly. If they see someone standing by a display case, they ask if you want to see anything. It is nice that they find you not you having to hunt a staff person down. The staff do not seem pushy or insulting. The clothing selection is nice too. I found a pair of shoes that were brand new for s great deal. All in all, an ok place to shop or sell something. read more

Sometimes it's better than others but what would St. Cloud be without pawn america to kill fifteen minutes before a trip to Bonanza... I've been going there my whole life and I don't intend to stop anytime soon. They sell everything in the book. read more
