update 07/27/21 - Jamie just delivered my sweet Dio! I could not be more pleased with the quality of both the urn and the name plate/placard! Paws give the best recommendations without having to even go to their location! It took me a while to look in the nice folder Jamie dropped off (which is a new addition since poor Jewel was cremated), but what a sweet touch! It contains the Rainbow's Bridge poem which is also on a 3-dimensional bookmark, the certificate of cremation, a sweet sympathy card (hand signed by all the employees), a comment card if you would like (of course) to provide comments, a business card, and your receipt. I don't know why (probably brain fog due to being sad over sweet Dio) I thought the charge would be $300.00 but it is only $185.00 - WOW! You get a lot for that. I don't know if they still offer "combination" (my words) cremations, which are less expensive and not my preference. I always do a "private" (individual) cremation which is your baby only. Their primate cremation for 6-15# fur babies is $150.00 and the beautiful urn is only $35.00! The engraved nameplate, blue velvet bag, pickup from the vet's office and drop off to your home are all complimentary! Thanks so much Paws. You have honored my sweet boy Dio in such a beautiful way and it is very much appreciated! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is difficult to write because requiring the services of a company like Paws Memorial is never a fun time. However, these are *the* most compassionate people you'll meet! In 2010 when we had to say goodbye to Jewel, Paws were there! I still enjoy his (long story that Jewel is a boy) beautiful urn that so handsomely honors his life! I believe I had sweet Haley re-cremated by Paws because I wasn't comfortable with how it was previously done. (Don't quote me, it's been a while). For Jewel, I picked up the urn (it's actually a beautiful wooden box I selected) at Paws and it came in a beautiful velvet bag and there may have been a note in there, I don't recall. Still, just a lovely compassionate experience when one is obviously distressed. When we sadly and unexpectedly had to say goodbye to Dio last week, I opted out of the cremation service/s offered by my long time vet which is an organization out of Birmingham, for Paws. I mustered up the emotional energy to make the call to Paws when we got home and Lisa at Paws was so kind!!!!! I asked if I could text her pictures of Jewel's urn because I wanted the same or a similar urn for Dio and we texted photos back and forth (they now provide the engraved placard/nameplate, which is a nice and appreciate touch!) and she sent me a photo of the one she recommended. Happily, despite changing computer systems in the past decade plus and not having my record, they still carry this timeless urn! YAY! I also texted the urn's measurements and Dio's weight - this ensures you purchase the correct size urn (you probably know that). It took me a week+ to decide what I wanted to engrave on the placard/nameplate as I wanted Scripture and none really spoke to me. I finally put on my big girl britches and narrowed it down to two verbiage options which I emailed to Lisa this morning. She immediately responded with a text and her opinion regarding which option would look the best. (As you can tell, I really trust and appreciate their input and professional experience in their field) I mean, these people are on the ball!!! Now they also offer pickup and delivery services which I am opting for and appreciate the added convenience. Also of note is price-wise they are in light or maybe slightly less than others who provide the same services. My first experience with was in 2017. It was a cat. It was a beautiful thing and they made me feel so warm and comforting with little Tessa. It was really special. After that little girl I have brought a 120 pound Rottweiler and a tiny little Chihuahua. And each and every time they make me feel so special and so sweet and they were so good to me! Until this last time. And only takes one time to get a bad review. Well Chelsea had gone through so much. So many paracentesis on her abdomen. That poor little thing was an 8 pound dog in the last driving that she had was over a litter of fluid. So when she finally died I took her to the place that I thought would love my baby As much as I did. And i sad. And I was mad. As any mama would be. We had gone through at least three paracentesis for draining the fluid off of her little belly. So I had been through enough. That being said I took her to the place that I thought would take care of my baby and give me a little hope or you know just little happiness. But when I was asked to pay, no problem I've already been here and I've already done that I know you have to pay .There was no argument there. I gave my card to the girl. Slid my card across the big desk. Well apparently that offended the new girl working at Paws. So I called a couple days later I was like OK hello hey Erica, I am really having a problem with the way that I received my baby. And she threw that shit back at me and said well you offended my worker by throwing your debit card at her. I apologize I really did because I know that I can be in a terminating person. And I apologize for being intimidating to the girl at the counter. But at this point I'm thinking why should I apologize for offending somebody that is in the funeral service that should be so understanding?At this point I am looking at the earn wondering if it is actually my dog? Or is it just some thing that you scooped out of the ashtray just to put some weight in it? read more

We lost our wonderful GS mix last week and chose a private cremation through our vet who utilized the services of Paws Memorial. I have never done a private cremation and wasn't sure what to expect. Their service is truly top of the line - we received our boys ashes in a beautiful wooden box with his name engraved on a metal plaque - along with the box, we received a sympathy card, an explanation of the services, a beautiful poem and a few extras. It is so comforting to know that our boy was treated with respect and was cremated with the dignity he deserved. Wonderful service. Our dear companion Daisy, of 18 years, passed here at home with the assistance of our vet from the West Madison Animal clinic. Daisy was transferred to Paws for cremation and she was returned within two days in a very handsome urn. Absolutely a great service. We lost our 7 year old boxer named Trooper to cancer the week before Christmas last year. Needless to say our familys hearts were broken. He passed away at our home and Lisa contacted us about 20 mins later. They offered to come get him on a Sunday afternoon but we wanted to give our buddy a final ride so we took him. Lisa met us at the car and carried him in for us. Gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye then we left him in her care. They delivered the urn to our vets office where we could pick him up. We also just lost our 12 year old boxer Molly on May 26th when we had to have her put down due to similar health issues. We filled out the paperwork online again and received the same heartfelt call from Lisa. PAWS picked Molly up from the vet for us and returned her to us. Again, I cant say enough about them. We recently said goodbye to our sweet mastiff, Boo, on Christmas Eve. Her remains were sent to Paws Memorial for cremation so she could be at home with us.
