Honestly what a disappointment. You can get everything there at any other pet store. There's nothing local or unique. Some Grateful Dead toys but they're from a brand. Some slightly more elevated brands that maybe you can't find at PetSmart but that's it. The girl working the counter was incredibly rude. She was on the phone talking loudly for at least 5 minutes. Said she was talking to her boss to a customer she was ringing up at the register but then talked about personal stuff on the phone. The store is very small and cramped. Even though it's a pet store it's not dog friendly. The girl never acknowledged my dog. I asked if they had any local baked dog treats like most small individual dog stores do, she pointed me to a shelf of big brand dog treats. I clarified and she was clueless and then said no. Waited at the register to buy something and she was looking at paperwork on a clipboard even though we were directly in front of her with our wallet out. Asked for a sweet potato treat. She shoves the container from her side of the counter at us. I asked for a bag for it. She expected me to go in there with my hands and take it. Immediately started ignoring us after we paid. It's a cute name but that's about it.

I sang 'You are My Sunshine' while driving back to Kingston to his furever home. He looked at me as if his Birth Mother had finally found him. In 2003, I brought him to my local Petco for his next Rabies vaccination. The visit went well. He has a laid back, friendly personality. He was comfortable around new human friends. We visited the same Petco on March 27, 2026 for another Rabies vaccine after I made a same day appointment with Ayha at the front desk. We got an appointment mid-afternoon. When we checked in I asked if Snickers' nails could be clipped as well. He's a strong cat. I feed him raw chicken breast as it is less expensive than a 3.5 lb bag of Science Diet for 11+ Seniors. After introductions with Snickers, Ayha and Dr Kristen Erickson, I also noted that Snickers appears to have ear mites. He was whisked away to the treatment room for about 20 minutes. When I was called to join Snickers and the medical team in the treatment room, Ayha was cradling Snickers in her arms. Dr Erickson reported that Snickers, in fact, had an ear infection. His ears had been cleaned. No more black gunk. There's a liquid medicine to drop into each ear. Snickers' behavior during his nail clipping, vaccine injection to his thigh and various poking around with the stethoscope for his heart beat and lung sounds was reportedly uneventful. Snickers does not cooperate with me when I attempt to clip his nails. He wriggles out of my arms and walks away. I'm grateful to the staff at Petco for maintaining my cat's trust in them. He was tired when we got home after thoroughly cleaning the area on his leg where he received the injection. He flinches when I administer his ear drops.

The very large, covered outdoor riding area was perfect for a relatively COVID safe experience on an otherwise dreary day, with a nice gazebo for parents and grandparents to watch and snap photos from. Not only was the adoption experience negative but the rat that I purchased sadly passed only two weeks later. I have had rats before and I am very experienced in caring for rodents and I believe my poor baby died of a respiratory disease that he probably caught from the decrepit living conditions they must be held in. The living conditions must have been more horrible than I could imagine because the owners would not even let me see the cages where they kept the rats. Overall I am extremely disheartened by this pet store and feel truly terrible for all of the pets that have to live in these terrible conditions before they are adopted.

They make it a fun and educational experience for everyone, but especially little kids.
