This rescue isn't even a rescue at this point. I've been keeping up daily to see if they repost the cat I had to bring back because I still care about that cat and want what's best for him. I also keep checking the reviews as well waiting to see if the President comments back like she has on other reviews. Which I strongly recommend you look at her comments back to anyone that gives a negative review because they get a lecture on how terrible of a person THEY are so that alone shows her character. Though I haven't received a comment YET... I have been seeing sooo many people say the same thing. This rescue doesn't do the proper vet care before giving away their animals as well as them just immediately saying to bring the pets back instead of offering resources to keep them in the home they were placed into. They would rather you bring the pet back so they can relist the pet and keep getting more and more money. When the pet is relisted they never say that it was brought back previously or mention previous issues and then they tell you to immediately bring the pet back if there are any issues instead of trying to make sure they do everything in their power to try to make sure that the home that this pet went to is their forever home. And that's truly upsetting knowing that you would rather keep stressing these animals out by preferring them to be brought back to the rescue over trying to help make the home you DEEMED AS A GOOD FIT FOR THE ANIMAL TO BE PLACED IN the one they stay in forever. You'd rather the pets keep being brought back to the rescue to make more profit off them. Absolute insanity! Not to mention they are endangering homes that have other pets in them by either knowing the proper vet care hasn't happened, or they don't disclose the previous issues of the pet in question. I would not recommend this place solely due to the attitude of the person I spoke to. I cannot recall her name. I wanted to see 2-3 cats (all fostered in different houses), but she said they can only let me see one. This is understandable, if that is their policy. However, she kept saying "... it is not fair to the volunteers," which sounded really defensive and made me feel bad about asking anything else. I also let her know that I was looking to meet another cat and asked if we can make a decision after we see both. She did say that was fine, but again made comments such as I was wasting the foster's time. I was most offended when she told me that most adopters do not shop around and commit to the one cat that they see. I am a first time adopter, so I do not know what the adopting norm is. However, I cannot imagine just seeing one cat and adopting it. Either way, I would have been fine if she was more polite/understanding in her word choices. I do not want to waste anyone's time and I of course appreciate the work/effort that these shelters provide. I still do not believe she should treat/judge potential adopters like that. I ended up telling her I do not want to meet the cat. I do really hope the sweet cat meets a lovely family soon. read more

Nicole and her team (family) are doing an amazing job helping animals that have been on the streets and finding them new homes. The animals rescued are given medical attention, they are given training and lots of love. I adopted a cat from Nicole a few years ago and although he did not work out in my home I was able to foster him until Nicole was able to find the right adopter. I would highly recommend working with Paws4Survival to adopt an animal. If I could give this place a BiG 0 I would! Not because of the animals, but the owner, Nicole Diapolo! She is a narcissistic, control freak with a God complex! I seriously feel bad for the animals, because they are missing out on great adopters, due to her ego and antics. I expressed interest in one of her cats, filled out the detailed application, emailed and called a mailbox that was full. Back history here. I have extensive experience with animals and especially cats. We had just lost our cat of over 18 years to a stroke and we were now ready to think about adopting a new member of our family. Simply fell in love with a special cat at her shelter and was treated Iike a lying, scammer! Usually you apply, get a call to discuss your fit and then go through reference checks (vets, etc). She sent an email stating that we need to call our vets and have her speak with them first. I still had questions about the cat and wanted to speak first, before she contacted my vet. When I specified this, she got defensive and tried to make me feel like I was violating her policy and "No One" has ever had any issue with it in 7 years! Well, I didn't appreciate her assumptions, poor professional demeanor or attitude as well as her lack customer service, which she claimed she was just a volunteer at the time. No name, introduction or any contact into was given during her rude and defensive/aggressive emails towards me. She questioned if I was being honest, since so many people lie, she said my moving to two places in 19 years was a puzzle piece mystery and told me to go elsewhere. I was completely shocked by her paranoid and jaded attitude towards someone who went through the whole process and it seemed like she was mentally unstable and definitely not suited to do this type of work. Or, she has a problem with letting the animals go, when a legit adopter comes into the picture. She claims it is about the animals best interest, but my family and I were a perfect fit. I finally asked to whom I was conversing with, since the entirety of our emails, she never gave a name or individual contact and she came back as being the owner. Not to mention telling me that she was a Project Manager for Verizon for 25 years and had serviced her client of 11 years with exceptional service as well as being a wild life rehabilitation person. She toted how proud she was of her customer service skills and accomplishments. It was off the wall bizarre! I have all our correspondence on email, so if she even tries to deny this, I got the proof. I hope her animals go to good homes, because the way she is conducting things, these poor things are losing out to great homes! read more

I will start off my saying what a horrible experience. I haven't had a dog in years and was so excited to adopt my first rescue! But then I met Meryl not in person either because she works out of NY. From her first text to the end I've never got so much anxiety from a person like her. Had to send her videos of inside and outside on her time she even told her boss I was taking to long when she told me to send her videos before Saturday when I meet the pup or I can't meet her I did what she asked every rushed step every time even while working too. If you don't have a fenced in yard it's a no.., if you don't have a daycare it's a no. Meryl has so many demands... like what?? During our text conversations I was forced to contact her boss Nicole...not even 5 min later Meryl text your all set you can meet the pup you want to meet. After I went over Meryl she treated me like I didn't matter. So I drove over an hour to see the pup not knowing Meryl already gave the pup to another family. Meryl decided to tell the foster parent to show me another pup as well to see if I like him. She never told me I was meeting another puppy as well. But I spent an hour bonding with the puppy I went to see there. I text Meryl a cute pic of me and the pup and said I lover her let's move forward. Not even 2 min passed and said " Im sorry we decided to go with another family " then I wonder ohhh that's why she wanted me to meet the other pup as well.. Meryl why waste peoples time?? You will never own up to it I'm sure. You are the worst. I contact the owner just wanted to share some facts and worries told me she would call me in a hour and got nothing very unprofessional. This rescue was recommended to me by close friend that had a very quick experience because this person knows the owner and never had to deal with Meryl ..lucky. This makes me sad this was supposed to be a happy experience for me and Meryl made it the worst. Meryl is very very aggressive and very pushy I'm glad I got to speak with some people in the business cause everyone complains about Meryl so I was relieved a little knowing I was not just over thinking her behavior. Meryl should not be in this type of business or just shouldn't be doing customer service. Wow. I'm so taken aback by this experience I needed to write a review. I can't hold in my dismay. My husband and I just lost our 18 year old tabby Kramer. We've had 6 cats over the last 30 years. EVERY ONE has had the absolute best of care. The most affection and the happiest play time you could ask for. To put it mildly - if you were a cat and ended up at our home, it's the equivalent to hitting the kitty lottery. Okay, so we're looking for a companion for the only cat we now own. Chucky. Most of our rescues were declawed before we took them in. Chucky is declawed, so to be fair to him, we were looking for another declawed rescue. We came across a cat at "Paws4survival" which was posted via Petfinders. We filled out the adoption application which is pertinent and gave them a vet authorization which they asked for. We get an email exchange and eventually speak on the phone with Tracey, who I may add was very nice. Now, without getting too lengthy - every person or couple or family who is searching for a kitty for a pet should have important questions to ask if they are rescuing such a pet. You want to know if there are litter box issues. Behavioral issues. Medical issues, etc. This cat was adopted prior to our interest and that owner had this cat for a few days. She then turned him back in to Paws4survival. We were told that the senior cat in her home stopped eating and didn't like the new cat so they returned him. Now mind you, in the adoption description page it was posted that this cat gets along with other cats. Not a biggie. We've come across this problem before and have always worked it out in the end where the cats got along great. We asked about litter box issues and Tracey said she reached out to the previous owner and there may have been one instance were some poop didn't make it in the litter. We were getting close to the point were we going to drive four hours to pick up the cat on Saturday and we texted Tracey to ask if it would be alright to speak with the previous owner so we could get a better handle on any issues. In fact in one of our conversations with Tracey we told her that we would love to be in contact with the previous owner to send her emails with pics, etc., so she knows he's being taken care of and is happy. In the past THIS HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM. People are happy to speak with you...normally. The response we got from Tracey was she would like to call us again, this time with her boss on the line to go over any issues. When this took place we were told by Nicole (the boss), that she doesn't feel comfortable giving out any information of the previous owner. The correct answer should have been - let me contact her and see if that's alright with her. No? Every answer we got from Nicole was filled with ambiguity. We got the distinct impression it was her way or the highway. She was very curt with us. We started getting a little warm under the collar because we have never been treated like this when trying to SAVE AN ANIMALS LIFE (and give him the best forever home the cat would ever see). Horrible, just horrible. It was clear after the first time we questioned the "boss", she was done with us and is moving on. I certainly hope the cat gets a good home. However, I will tell anyone who is dealing with PAws4survival to be very cautious. I would say find someplace else to go, but there are rescues that need homes. Tracey, if you read this - get as far away from Paws as you can. You seem like a nice person. Work for better people. By the way the adoption fee for a 7 year old cat without any blood work done was $200 for this cat. They do test for HIV, etc. before adoption. read more
