A little cleanup so we could see her eyes again, face, feet and fanny trim, along with a "peticure". What we really like is that they did just the right amount of grooming, and didn't go overboard. Our terrier mix is, shall we say, quite "active", and her first visit (to Debbie's, or anywhere for that matter) required a second set of hands, and I suspect that there was some minor groomer "casualties" from that visit. This time around was reportedly much easier (on the groomer and our pet). In both cases, however, they said she was "wonderful" (but "much better" on the second visit). This is all to say that it's worth the drive to Cloverdale for a first-rate grooming from a caring and competent business.

She fit us in quickly because my black lab has surgery coming up this Wednesday, which I really appreciated. What truly sets her apart, though, is the care and understanding she shows for each dog. My fox red lab is extremely nervous around people. She usually barks, cowers, and takes a long time to warm up. Cathy generously offered for me to bring her in just to spend time in the space with her, her husband, and their dogs, purely to help her feel more comfortable. The moment we arrived, I could tell this place was special. The space is beautiful and clearly designed with dogs in mind, and Cathy herself is just lovely. Almost immediately, my nervous pup, who usually barks at everyone, was calmly approaching her, sniffing her hand, and even taking treats without making a sound. I was honestly amazed. I left feeling completely at ease, knowing both of my dogs were in the best possible hands. Cathy kept me updated throughout the entire visit, not only about my black lab's groom, but also about my other pup who wasn't even there for a groom. She simply took the time to help her build comfort and trust for future visits, which is something you just don't see often. When I came back, my black lab looked perfect, and both dogs were happy, relaxed, and honestly didn't want to leave. That says everything. People like Cathy are truly special. This is absolutely our place from now on.

Cheyanne didn't care about her feet at all, but she didn't care for the grinder for her front side claws.... But she was very patient and she got out of the van and had her tongue out and looks like she was smiling. We went to Grocery Outlet and got a bag of duck jerky (awesome-only 3 ingredients.... But do not buy the chicken jerky off the internet) !!!! Then we went and ran at Costco field and she was showing off to her friends that she got her nails trimmed. Yes you can go somewhere else and do it yourself shampoo..... but it is a lot of work !!! Pooch's Pawlor does the shampoo and a trim... included. I think I will only give Cheyanne about (2) baths a year.... I don't think it is very healthy to do it unless a situation comes up. Please support this business. (I have gone to another business here in Ukiah..... I would not recommend taking there at all). A person that has stole my car-or that smashed my windshield.... I get the feeling multiple times they left our pets there, and did not give them a bath or anything. We took in 4 pets and it was not cheep. Our vet got upset with us because all of them had ear infections. The vet said a good groomer should notice that and tell you, never a word. I just drove a long way to take them back to the old groomer and they came back looking 10 times cleaner and better. I swear they ignored the ears and the vet also commented that if someone is responsible for doing the nails monthly on one dog, that I should get my money back, because they were way too long. I really feel they collected $ and did a minimum, and then sometimes next to no job at all. My vet demanded the name of the place, and encouraged me to write this. We knew they were much worse than our previous groomer. They would finish all 4 in an hour, and then demand we get them immediately, or they would charge us for boarding. They said the cat was so difficult, but the other groomer today said she was impressed how much more calmer and easier she is now. They would just wet the cat, and make us wait, and give her back in 10 minutes! I have no idea why they treated our animals so poorly, but until the vet pointed all this out, we thought they were just doing a bad job, not no job at all! I am so upset we went there so long, I would avoid at all cost.
