They gave us extra tools like de-shedding brushes and even an ear cover for our dog who we mentioned is scared of the blow drier. They checked on us throughout and offered to help. After searching on Yelp I came across Starbarks and finally found a winner. Believe in their reviews--they know what they're doing! I I called to try to get my dog in the same day but they were already booked so I took an appt for a few days later. They seem to be against overbooking which is good. Their shop is modest but clean. The owner/groomer is kind and takes their time with you. When I had trouble explaining the type of cut I wanted, they pulled up a massive photo library of photos of dog they groomed on their computer and helped me to narrow it down. They told me it would take an hour to an hour and a half to complete, but within an hour they sent a text and told me my little boy was ready! So they are very efficient. When I got him he was groomed EXACTLY like how I wanted and pictured in my head. I was so nervous they would only half listen to my request like other groomers but they did every-single-thing I asked. My dog is also very friendly but fearful of many things, so I was scared they would have trouble with him. Thankfully they knew how to handle him and were tender from the very beginning. Generally speaking on my dog's style, he got a puppy cut with ears and tail kept long, and shaped/tapered. Not only did everything come out fantastic but their prices are SO much better than any of the other groomers in the area and MUCH closer to my house. I called and the most wonderful person answered introduced herself as Gigi and came right away to meet my dogs and took the time to explain all she does. I have never been happier. She walks each dog as if they were her own total controll over the sheperd that totaly shocked me. That dog does not like anyone but she loves GiGi. she is always on time, but the best part is when I have to go away she also does boarding and grooming. Gigi kept me up to date on how my dogs were doing not only with text message but pictures to. When I picked my dogs up they were happy clean smelled great and there nails were clipped. Being several states away, I felt completely helpless. One call to Gigi changed everything. Not only was she already taking wonderful care of our cat, but she immediately stepped in to help with Yoki. She picked her up from the boarding facility, took her to the vet, stayed with her through the appointment, got her medication, gave her the first dose, and brought her back safely. STEER CLEAR based on our negative experience…read more We recently boarded our dog, Slate, at Dogtopia Westmont for 10 days. While we were initially assured at pickup that he had been well-behaved and in good condition, our experience tells a very different story. Slate entered the facility in excellent health, as confirmed by our veterinarian shortly before boarding. Upon pickup, we immediately noticed green discharge coming from one of his eyes and scratches on his nose. Staff attributed the nose abrasions to him rubbing against the crate--an explanation that seems unlikely given that Slate is fully crate-trained and uses a crate daily at home without issue. Within 24 hours, the discharge progressed to conjunctivitis in both eyes, requiring veterinary treatment and antibiotics. More alarming were the numerous bite wounds on his head, neck, ears, and throat--injuries inconsistent with normal play behavior. That very same evening Slate developed a severe gastrointestinal illness resulting in vomiting, diarrhea, and five days without eating. He required IV fluids, x-rays, bloodwork, and medications. His total veterinary care amounted to $837.22. When we brought these concerns to Dogtopia's attention, we were told that no incidents were observed on video and that no other dogs were exhibiting any symptoms. While staff insisted all internal procedures had been followed, the fact remains: our healthy dog left their care sick, injured, and traumatized. Absolutely no accountability was taken. We understand that unforeseen issues can happen in group play settings. However, the facility's complete unwillingness to acknowledge even the possibility of an incident or lapse in care is deeply disappointing. We entrusted Dogtopia Westmont with Slate's safety and well-being. Based on this experience, we cannot in good conscience recommend this location to anyone seeking a responsible, transparent, or truly safe boarding environment.

(Which is exactly what I want!) I know my dog is far from perfect. Especially in a group setting.
