This place was huge compared to the other stores in downtown. It was filled with locally-made items and food from the area and county. There were so many unique gifts and items here. We spent over an hour in the store browsing! My friend and I spent over 5 minutes talking to Patty in the food section listening to her talk about each vendor she personally worked with and knew. You could hear the passion in her voice when describing each item. The scones mix, she explained, took the chef over a year to perfect, the hot sauces, she knew every little detail. She was so knowledgeable and welcoming. In fact, all the employees we interacted with were so helpful. I've had Lundberg organic brown rice many times as they used to carry it at my Costco but I had no idea they made rice chips. One of the other employees said she went to high school with the Lundberg's kids! There were so many things I wanted to bring back home but couldn't. It will just warrant another trip up to Chico in the near future! Thank you to the staff here for making us feel so welcome on our first visit ever to Chico!

I've been to every smoke shop in Chico, and I say with absolute certainty, go to Payless Cigarette! Other places might be bigger, might have a better location, more inventory, but you will always get lower prices on anything and everything at Payless! The Owner guarantees it! I have seen him knock , $5, $10 or more off an item , when someone would inform him of a lower price of an item! The owner is very considerate and is willing to listen and try to help!
