such an awesome variety in here and shop owner was really friendly! I got some great stickers and a frog pin.

I have a new favorite store. It was a genuine pleasure to wander through here for some time. There is so much art to see in every inch of the store. Everything is handcrafted and comes from all over the world. The owner is such a sweet man and we had some of the greatest conversations with him while getting to know the items we were purchasing. This is the kind of store I love - where I can find something unique for my home while finding something great for a friend's gift.

PDXchange is another Portland correct sort of gift store, but without the edge. Maybe that's because it's located in a new building and perhaps the selection and displays are little bit too perfect. And it's a really cool fair trade store nonetheless. I found some neat stuff that would make perfect gifts.

This is a really great boutique: perfect place to pick up a gift for someone. The products are all fair-trade, so you'll feel good about your purchase. I picked up a cool purse as a b-day present for my wifey. It's made out of recycled inner-tubes, yet looks like a super-pricey designer bag. She loves it! I talked to Tom, one of the owners, for a while, and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. PDXchange just opened a few weeks ago, and I think they will have a lot of success at this location. This is just such a "Portland" kind of store, right down to the cool graffiti artwork on the walls. They also sell some really awesome furniture made from reclaimed lumber. As you can tell, I'm a fan.

My Son led me here last weekend when I was in town. There was lots of notebooks, pens, and other stuff to consider, and having a Kinokuniya membership (10% off) was a bonus. David was more interested in the manga books, and we were happy browsing in our own little corners. We both happily came away with a small collection of treasures and a promise to return. There were lots of folks here, making the aisles a little tight. But checkout moved quickly and efficiently.

The store is much larger than the one in Chicago! So of course there was a much wider selection of goods, including a lot more Alien Stage items (know the teens are a fan of this show). We ended up signing up for the annual membership which gives you 10% off your purchase immediately and you rack up points (who doesn't love points) which will add up to more savings. We purchased a hard to find art book. Service was friendly, and answered all the questions we had on the membership, not rushing us at all to make the decision.
