A friend who used to live in Portland told me to come here when I was visiting so I did! There's so much to look at and browse in this shop. Gifty ideas, jewelry, shirts... I bought a fun tote bag even though I don't need more totes!! The people working the counter were super nice and made conversation while I wandered around. Everything is from local artisans so you know you're supporting cool PNW crafters! I spent a ton of money in this shop buying gifts. I think my family will love their presents!! Super cute little shop tucked away on 10th. I could spend all day musing through this shop!! I feel like every single item in this shop was thoughtfully curated with intention. The person working had extensive product knowledge any pretty much anything and everything I had a question on. The customer service was wonderful and you leave feeling like you made a friend. This is a wonderful gift shop with friendly staff members and lots of unique gifts. They were playing old 80's pop music on a record player. So fun! I picked up a few items in the shop and will definitely visit them again on our next trip to Portland. Yay for local crafts! Yay for local arts! Yay for the Portland initiative to fill empty downtown storefronts with pop-up shops! Yay for Crafty Wonderland! I finally got a chance to pop in to this little shop and it's chock full of stuff I'd love to have and love even more to buy for my friends. It's like Etsy come to life - which is awesome because hands-on is always better than online. Crafty offers up all sorts of amazing local art and craft nick-nackery, clothing, wall-art, journals, cards, accessories, soaps, designs, you name it. There's more than could fit in a while Yelp review, all crammed into a pretty small space. I spent a while in here browsing and had to force myself to put a few things down (it was just a browsing, not a buying, day) multiple times. Too much awesomeness. The only real downside to this store is that it's only going to be open until Dec 30th. read more

Amazing customer service! A friend and I were in the shop months ago and she spotted a painting that she really liked. I wanted to buy it for her for her birthday but it had already been purchased. After talking with the artist, Cathy, one of the owners, found out that there might be another similar piece at a local art show. I don't live in Portland - so she went to this art show to try and find the piece for me! I mean... really.... so kind! Long story short: My friend got her painting in time for her birthday and was delighted. It's a wonderful shop filled with loads of wonderful local finds. You'll find all kinds of loot that you need to take home or gift to folks. Can't say enough good things about it! Highly recommend! They also run a huge craft show twice a year that is NOT TO BE MISSED either. read more

This is an amazingly fun store that features all local handmade crafty goods, everything from hand-printed T-shirts and greeting cards to decoupaged light switchplates (one of which I bought). On my recent trip to Portland, I found this cute shop walking about while on my way to another shop. Quickly, I looked it up on Yelp to get the scoop and liking what I read, I headed in! Thank you yelpers for the reviews =D Inside, I found handmade treasures, some I recognized from other craft events I had been to. Artists are all local which is always a plus for me! Unique treasures can be found here and offer I think great gifts or something for yourself. After chatting with the store clerk, I learned this shop hosts one of the major homemade craft events in the area. A definite come back next time I am in Portland! read more

Crafty Wonderland is home to a cornucopia of locally handcrafted goodness. It is like nothing I have ever seen before insofar as it is truly a showcase for local artists to sell their wares without having to invest in a brick and mortar storefront. That results in the most convenient collection of Portland-made jewelry, clothing, pottery, home goods, prints, and paper products. Your first visit in will be a long one, so plan accordingly. It's just too easy to find yourself entranced while browsing the multitudes of genius ideas come to life from the heads of local artists. Your grabby hands will be activated repeatedly while you find ways to convince yourself that you can afford all of the things you've just decided have to be yours. That said, I don't right have a complaint, but I would like to see the shop attempt to vary the selections available more frequently. I stop in at least once a month and am often underwhelmed solely because I saw the same items on my last visit. Along the same line, I'd recommend they do a bit more tailoring towards the gift-giving shoppers. I was in on Sunday to purchase cards for my mom, grandma, and bitchy grandma and was saddened by the lack of Mother's Day cards and paraphernalia. I ended up purchasing some very cool flowery cards, but it would have been nice to see more than 4 Mother's Day designs. Because I see it mentioned in several reviews, a note on pricing: Crafty Wonderland actually does a good job offering items at several different price points. You can get tons of items for under five dollars, jump up to ten dollars and you've expanded your options considerably. It's also crucial to keep in mind that these items are handmade. "Nailed it" next to a photo of a botched project is a running online joke for a reason. And that reason is it takes skill to pull this shit off. Respect that and be willing to pay a fair price. read more

Cute little store. Not everything is a souvenir but you can get some strange and wonderful trinkets here. They had some cute purses made out of old children's books. I got a really weird card (starring Jesus, wielding a gun, riding a dinosaur that is holding an American flag in its mouth) for my husband as part of his office decor. The cashier was friendly. If you're looking for a gift that's a bit weird and off-beat to remember your time in Portland, this is a worthwhile stop. read more

You can get clothes, jewelry, art, accessories, baby and kid items, books, etc. It is just fun to look at all the beautiful art pieces people create. This is my new favorite store in Portland. What a fun time I had discovering this little spot. Me and a close friend happened to be walking by heading for another local business. We were honestly just in the mood to shop, look around at pretty things, get inspired and maybe even just find that perfect little thing that you couldn't live without. When all is said and done, I did find a whole bag of things I couldn't live without. What a wonderful shopping experience! The clerks were very nice, knowledgeable about everything in the store and even made suggestions. I sound a print of a local artists work that was very exciting for me because I normally buy her work from an art gallery at the coast so knowing I have an even more local source is pretty dangerous for my pocketbook. A friend's birthday was coming up and I managed to find part of her present, her card... And, oh wow look at those cards!! Yeah, so I bought a pile.... Don't judge me I need them for future birthdays!!! I seriously wanted to buy half of the store. This is one of the shops that you do not just walk in and out of. You come in here and take your time looking around because they have got some great displays with a real variety of things. Most everything in the shop is from local artists or is repurposed. I also love it when shops are encouraging of local art - which they show by soliciting art shows and have hangings of artists shows up on their walls, windows and door. Very cute! This store has all your quirk in one place. I loved that it's an indie store in an area that is otherwise dominated by chain stores. Also, everything in here is pretty affordable and stuff you might actually buy, compared to the Alberta Arts District which had a lot of fun stores more for browsing. Got some really cute gifts here including handmade earrings (coincidentally made by the woman at the register that day), Super Mario burp cloths, and a wooden plant ornament. I came here to get a Christmas gift for my wife. She's particular on what she likes and doesn't so I made sure to ask if the store does returns. I was told yes we do. My wife ended up liking another pair better so we got them and when I came back to return them I was told we can ONLY do an exchange. It was deceiving. I won't come back here for this reason and wouldn't recommend to buy here. My experience didn't begin bad but it turned out to be a waste of money and time. I visited this store during my visit to Portland in May, and was in love with all the handmade items they have. Because I had to limit myself (or I would've bought up the entire store), I bought a pin, magnet, 8x10 print, and a prism necklace with a crystal inside. A few weeks later, when trying on the necklace, I realized the prism was too big or lose, and therefore the crystal kept slipping out. I began to wear it without the crystal inside until I fixed it, for fear of losing it. Long story short- during my attempt to fix my necklace, I snapped the wire and broke it completely! I was very upset and had pretty much rendered this accessory a goner, but decided to reach out to Crafty Wonderland in hopes something could be done. Cathy responded immediately and offered to have it sent back and fixed. Fast forward one quick week, and I now have a beautifully tightened necklace (with thicker wire so I don't break it this time!) with a thoughtfully hand written note inside. I am SO happy with my purchase and the service I received from Cathy, I will a point to stop back in next time I am in the area! Thanks so much! read more

I've visited Crafty Wonderland, the shop, quite a few times over the last few years and have always enjoyed it. It's really a marvel to find our local craftspeople so well represented and with so many fun and very high-quality products. I'm glad to have a shop to visit because I never been able to seen to get to Crafty Wonderland, the big craft show, because I'm always so busy during holiday times. It's in a very handy spot right near MAX which makes it very easy to visit for even just a few minutes. The merchandise like I said is super high-quality and so Portland-centric. These items are great for gifting to friends and family in other cities. The shop is nice, clean, and non-dusty, and the staff members are friendly without being intrusive. The space is small-ish, but there's still plenty of room to move around without feeling like you're a bull in a china closet. I particularly enjoy the lamps made of old slides; really unique and pretty. Stop in for a minute or more between MAX trips or on a lunch break and see what this fun shop has to offer. I went into the shop the other day with the intention of maybe finding some unique little gifts...and yes indeed they have really cool and unique gifts, as long as money is no problem. I was stunned that very few things were under 30$. Now don't get me wrong I totally support the idea of local art but artists of Portland let's mix it up a little...can you not create some cool 5$ and 10$ items? I know you need to eat too but in this economy with the cost of living in P-town as high as it is, try to diversify your offering for a diverse economic climate. read more

Great store! My friend and I were in Portland for the first time last week and made a point to visit some cool little local shops during our stay. It was nice a empty on a weekday afternoon, but this was nice as my friend and I chatted with the employee who was working. It turns out she was the artist who made the earrings my friend was intending to purchase. She was very friendly and also helped us out with some suggestions of places we needed to see before leaving Portland. I personally purchased a small print of Portland bridges/buildings as well as a few postcards which I intend to frame. Prices were reasonable on these items. I could have spent SO much money here... it's probably a good thing for my savings account that I traveled with small carry-on bags only. This is one to definitely check out if you're in the area. It also sounds like they are involved in some pretty sweet craft/art shows as well, wish one of these would have been going on during my visit! read more

I love this place. Their new location is seemingly just a bit smaller but it's just as sweet. If you are looking for a unique gift for an out of towner or that perfect decoration to spruce up your breakfast nook, stop by here first! It is the quintessential shop to buy that weird Portland gift for everyone that's envious you get to spend time in the city. One of my favorite Super Crafty Events twice a year! One of the best in the country, now if only they could have one of their shows in or around Chicago.... Their pop-up shop is a sweet everyday version of there super colossal shows at the convention center. I would highly recommend AND if you're in Portland around that area, you should stop in Tender Loving Empire at 415 W 10th around the corner. This year Crafty Wonderland fell on the same weekend I'm skipping town, so I made a point to visit their storefront. I'm a fan of Ryan Berkley prints (portraits of various animal busts with formal shirts), and Crafty Wonderland carries each animal in various sizes. $10 for a 5x7 print of a black bear with a tie and suit jacket seemed fair, so I bought that. $3 for a single postcard was a little steep though, even for this postcard-mailing addict. While looking around, I had a hard time balancing need vs want. Do I really need a fancy check book cover? Do I really need a knitted vegetable pillow? No, but... shoot, they'd be fun to have! There are a lot of Portland-themed knick knacks, I'd definitely recommend this place to out-of-town visitors who are looking for a unique souvenir. read more

Crafty Wonderland is a great place to find a gift for those people who are challenging to buy for. CW houses a large array of products from Portland artists...everything from hand-printed dishtowels to snarky birthdays cards to funny-looking ceramic planters. Personally, I think one of their best qualities is their selection of jewelry, which always seems to be in-style and reasonably priced. Also, a great place to find Portland-branded products. The employees are generally very nice. One time the employee ringing me up just wasn't very friendly, but maybe she was having a bad day. I love that they have a coupon in the Chinook Book and participate in local programs such as Supportland and Little Boxes. read more

I have lived in Portland for ten years and their inventory has really never changed. I have purchased some items here for pretty expensive then see it cheaper elsewhere in town. The art is not unique nor different than any other shop around town. The fair they run is twice a year and it is all the same vendors over and over again. LITERALLY NOTHING NEW (how many times does bang bang crafts need to be there? How many times doe Make Good Choices NEED to be there?) It is just a popularity contest full of their friends "art." You guys need to do better by Portland and get some fresh staff and eyes in your shop to recreate your stale look. read more
