We had used Peabody for Fall clean up and had been happy. They did the work soon after we called and our property looked great. So, I called in mid March to ask for a mulching estimate. The weather at that point was fine. I told them i would like the mulching done early because I have perennial flowers in the beds. They didn't come until mid April or so to do the estimate, and after multiple phone calls. When they came back from a vacation, and as I watched multiple other landscaping companies completing work in our area, I was told that our work would be done soon. The definition of soon was about 1 month later. Part of the work I requested was to have weeds removed from a new garden. This left a very uneven shrub bed. I requested some top soil to even out the area. I was told it would be completed later that afternoon. As you can probably guess, it wasn't. I called the office to find out why. I was told the owner wanted to talk to me. After a week, still no call. Finally, about a week later they came. And only used a blower to put mulch in which blew off tops of much loved perennials, broke stems on beautiful hosta, plastered leaves with mulch that even rain didn't wash off, and buried many small plants that subsequently died. The mulch was thick is some areas, but thin in many, many others, especially high visibility areas. No one had done any hand work on our mulch to level it out. The office person couldn't understand why I could barely talk when I called to say the work was substandard. We photo documented all the damage as well as the areas that didn't get mulched. It was a 10 week ordeal that we won't repeat, and I hope that no one else does. read more
