The first time I saw Peabody was many yrs ago when I worked for a competitor and came to Peabody to do an assessment for a potential transfer to my then employer. At that time I was astonished by the sheer beauty of the University like campus. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with its beautiful flower gardens, which including the beautiful tulips and well kept walk ways. At that time I had no idea that I would leave my employer of 15 yrs to come to be a part of this unique community.  As an employee of Peabody I found that there is great opportunity for advancement if you're willing to work hard and be committed to providing excellent care and compassion to our extended family our residents.  I'm not saying we don't have turnover, because everyone knows all communities do, but I can say that we have many employees that have been with Peabody 5+ yrs and we had 1 employee celebrate her 40th anniversary and another  celebrate her 30th anniversary with Peabody and may others that have celebrated 10 - 20+ yrs with Peabody. I have to say though I left too for a short period of time, but returned even though were I went was a great community. You know the old saying about the grass being greener. What we see is that many of the employees that leave return to Peabody, because Peabody just has "it". I'm proud to say I will be celebrating my 11th yr. at Peabody next month. Not only are our residents our extended  family, but I also had my father in the Smock Memory Care neighborhood and my mother was in the skilled short term rehab. neighborhood. The care that they both received was exceptional. Staff show great compassion to not only the residents, but also the families. This really showed through when my father passed away several years ago. My mother was able to return home after her skilled stay, but unfortunately had another health issue, but the family was happy when she chose to move into Peabody's Assisted Living for an added peace of mind for not just for her who continues to be independent and drives, but for the family. We know she enjoys being active and being social with all her friends at Peabody. She also enjoys playing cards, going to exercise classes and a little shocking to the family playing bingo. I have been part of the Peabody nursing staff for 10 years. In the 1970's as a young child my grandmother would bring me with her when she visited her sister who was a resident. Through a young girls eyes Peabody looked like a huge magnificent mansion and now 45 years later as I walk up to door I still get that same majestic feeling. The grounds, buildings and the atmosphere is simply beautiful. However, that is not what has capture my heart and love for Peabodys, it is the residents, families and staff that makes Peabody a beautiful place. The staff from all departments work together as a team to ensure our residents receive quality compassionate care . 'Peabody Standard of Care'. Being both an employee and a family member, I get to see both sides of Peabody. I work with an amazing group of people who are dedicated to the care and everyday lives of our residents. The residents become an intricate part of our day and nothing is more rewarding then the smiles on their faces when they interact with you because they know you care. I have also watched as the staff has cared for my family member. Having recently gone through a difficult situation, I was again reminded of the love and compassion they show daily in the care that they provide. I've witnessed care provided at other facilities and I am thankful everyday both myself and my family member are here at Peabody. read more

I can't say enough about the care Peabody has given to my parents when they moved to their assisted living facility. We helped them relocate there in June of 2016 and sadly my mother passed away in September at the age of 96. My father who celebrated his 100th birthday in 2020 is still enjoying his life style with all the friendly staff and employees who make Peabody's such a special place. Their campus is beautiful and all the facilities are impeccably maintained. My brother and I are so thankful we made the decision to place our parents at Peabody's. I have enjoyed working with the admissions department representative Trina she is so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fast to respond when I send her referrals! She assists with making each patients admissions process a smooth, easy process for patients discharges from our hospital to the facility. Peabody Retirement Home was better than we expected for our parents. They communicate well, know the residents and their likes/dislikes, and make families feel comfortable and included. I think Peabody is a great place. My mom lives there and she is very happy. They have lots of activities that she enjoys. I have eaten there also. The food is good and I enjoy the company. The staff has always been very friendly. read more
