We recently had to make ongoing visits with our cat . Having no previous experience of vet care in Canada nor with an animal with serious illness it is difficult to make comparisons or judgements on the quality of care and treatment. From the first investigations and treatment we were kept fully involved and informed and had an ongoing dialogue with Dr Ghuman who ,when it became evident that further more specialised diagnosis was probably needed ,was able to direct us to a further facility outside of the local area. The subsequent diagnosis and treatment regime were implemented jointly by Peace Arch and Canada Vet West and Dr Ghuman was happy to incorporate and follow treatment advice. This combined approach resulted in our having a few extra months with our cat with a reasonable quality of life .During the whole process the staff were accessible and willing to answer our concerns and could not have been more supportive of our choices in regard to treatment options and were always realistic in presenting likely scenarios whilst not advocating treatments and procedures which would have been very costly and possibly cause more suffering. The treatment involved daily oral medication which at first was difficult but the clinic were happy for us to take our cat there daily initially for help with medication at no extra charge. One veterinary nurse( Taylor) in particular ,was very concerned and supportive to the extent that she regularly checked on progress and in this we felt very supported. When it came time to end the suffering Taylor and Dr Ghuman came to the house and allowed us and our cat some private dignity . They could not have made it any easier for us and for that we are very grateful. read more

Terrible. I went in for one concern and the male vet talked on and on about my Senior dog's heart murmur. I told him at least twice that I wasn't concerned about that at all. No previous vet was concerned either. $ave your money and go to a real vet vs this ...place. read more

Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital Exceedingly bizarre, rude behavior from the staff. I made a phone call to the clinic wanting to exchange a 3 kg. bag of Royal Canin cat food I had picked up two days prior. The person who answered the phone said she would have to check with the doctor and would get back to me in one to two hours. I made it clear I would pay the difference in price. I also reiterated the bag was unopened and had just been picked up two days ago. No one contacted me so I drove in to the clinic. There was a big notice taped on the front desk stating exchanges of food were permitted within three days and they still went to the back to 'consult' with the doctor??? They wanted to charge me 20% restocking charge but said they would waive it. Again ???? When I was paying the difference I looked up from the pin pad to see the two women were laughing at me because I was frustrated and angry. The one woman with heavy lipstick said 'hurry or it will time out'. She also said I threw the pin pad at her so they decided that they weren't going to give me the exchange and threatened to call the police. For getting angry. There wasn't any name calling or swearing. Difficult to remain calm and polite when they are trying to gouge me. Never, ever going back to that place. read more

Brought my beautiful 8 month old British short hair to get fixed at Peace Arch Vet. Took him in a couple days before hand and payed several hundred dollars to make sure he was healthy and good to go for surgery. They told me he was so strong they had to sedate him to get the blood work. Said he was super healthy and good to go. Took him in a couple days later and he got fixed. Three days later I came home from work and he was breathing really strange so I called the office and they had me come in. They were so rude and told me I had to take him to emergency. They were very strong in telling me which hospital to go to and that whatever was happening with him had nothing to do with the surgery. Took him to emergency and he was coughing up blood and it was coming out his nose. The car ride from the vet to the hospital is indescribable. The sounds he was making haunt me. He died. My beautiful healthy baby just died. Cost us $1500 for about an hour at emergency. They never contacted me and passed it off as if he had an underlying condition. Why did I pay all that money to make sure he was good for surgery??? This place is a joke. They don't care about you or your animals. Please share if you know people in south Surrey or white rock. This happened in June but I finally had it in me to write a review about the experience. read more

Sold dog food with no information as to portions for our dog. When we got home and realized there was no information on the can, we called Peace Arch Vet where we had bought the food and they refused to provide any information because they had not seen the dog even though we provided his exact weight. So they want a high priced dog examination in order to get the food portion we should give our dog. Plus the girl hung up on us......and we were polite and not rude to her. Not a good place for any sort of customer service.....we phoned another vet's office, gave the dogs weight and got the required info immediately without a song and dance. read more

Do not like my dog being taken away to another office for exam. So asked the exam to be done in room we were taken too. Was shocked at the small exam that was done and the missing of an obvious ear infection. Needed to get a form signed that my dog was up to date on 5 vaccinations. New appt as just moved here. So was going to get the vaccinations listed and was told if vet signed the form as to my dog getting them I would have to pay160. on top of everything else because it was a medical form - half a page. I said I would not accept that upcharge. Assistants were excellent! So walked out without getting anything done. Did not get charged for office visit. read more

They charge much higher than any other vet I've been too and I had to call 3 times myself and the new vet receptionist had to call 3 times to get my dogs chart transferred to a new vet clinic. On the final attempt, they told the receptionist at the new office I had an outstanding balance, even though nobody contacted me to tell me this. Transferring my chart was a priority as my dog was getting worse, but they didn't do it for 2 months! I essentially had to pay this balance off in order to have my pets chart transferred, felt like poor business practice. read more

they are so loving and kind to pets. They took wonderful care of my cat Chase and now my sweet doggie Penny Lane. Penny has had cancer once when she was 5 which they said may come back and now while she been 9 lumps are back. They are beyond accommodating they get you in so quick. Wonderful contact with email and phone promptly. They just have so much love for animals, they are kind and gentle and always go above and beyond in care. They calm your nerves when it's not time to worry and make sure you do best by your animals when it's time to take good care and do what's needed to see what's going on. So much compassion is given to the comfort of the pet. they always have lovely staff. they would help me trim Penny's nails cause she is stubborn for me. Also when she was puppy I walk by nightly to get her socialized and not scared of the vet they give her a cookie and pets. They are just so nice. Dr Ghuman and his staff were amazing. They were very caring, thorough and did a professional job for our two dogs that needed many teeth extracted and cleaned. They correctly assessed the risk for our older dog and adjusted treatment accordingly. After the surgery, they walked us through what had occurred, provided post-care treatment and called us the next day to check on progress and offer additional care help. Their prices are very competitive - in fact much cheaper than many other vets, so not only do you receive a top-notch, professional care but you do not have to take out a huge loan to pay off the bill. Rip off! Quoted 1 price and charged another and told too bad the procedures done and whoever quoted the price was wrong. Even though I confirmed quoted price when dropping off. Went again for booster shots and was given deworming and flea treatment, that was not asked nor needed, and charged at a ridiculous price. Girl that works there doesn't know how to smile or have any personality. There's so many better places around town to go too. Why I went there I'll never know? They charge outrages prices..... and do not take your pet there on a stat holiday as apparently you pay the staff wages of time and a half which is added on to the service you are already paying for. I took my cat there for an X-ray and was charged $834......when I questioned them on the price I was told of the staff wages which i apparently I am paying for..... they are constantly trying to up sell you the whole time. I checked with another vet and they are charging $285 for and X-ray and an additional $25. if there are further X-rays to be taken..... read more

We are so grateful to Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital. We recently adopted a geriatric cat, knowing that despite his general good health, we were taking on a cat who's age related ailments are around the proverbial corner. We are and continue to be prepared for this, and decided to give him his "forever home" for this phase of his life. Within a couple of days of getting him, it became apparent that he was probably in the early stages of a Urinary Tract Infection. After some trial and error with antibiotics (liquid, by mouth), and Apo Prazo (pill), it became obvious we were unable to get him to take his medicine orally or mixed in with food. The staff at Peace Arch Veterinary Hospital were so patient with us, answering our calls and emails on how to proceed. We tried every suggestion, but the cat became increasingly agitated and stressed. The accumulation of having been surrendered to a rescue agency in Williams Lake, moved to Vancouver area by the same rescue agency, adopted by us, which resulted in yet another move added to his overall stress. Today, the veterinary gave him med(s) by injection, which has replaced the 7-day course of antibiotics he was originally supposed to be on. The improvement was immediate. As soon as he came home, he was back to sleeping in his favourite place, followed by spending time on his favourite window sill, as well as hanging out with us. Other than them being open til 11pm (that's the only reason I'm giving them a one star - but then again, it's not like I can give them a 0 as that's not an option), as Ron wrote back in May 2019, they are a complete rip off! We were also quoted one price and then charged another. They overcharge way too much compared to other vets in the area (having talked to some of our neighbours). How do they get away with this? I wish I would have read the reviews before going to them. More people need to speak up if this has happened to them as well. I will never step foot at this place again! read more

Most amazing veterinarians and staff. They seem to care and know as much about my dogs as I do. Both my guys love going there for all the attention. I have been to other vets and didn't realize pricing could be this fair until I came here. Service is very quick and efficient with or without an appointment - but I do normally book ahead. I just came back from this vet clinic with my Himalayan cat after having a "lion cut" and claw trim. I didn't find the place very friendly, and certainly not clean. The vet has to "sedate" my very gentle cat for this procedure. He also did a very short examination which included an exam of the ears with a filthy scope. I was then brought in with her in her carrier and instructed to put it on a table covered with fur!!!! The staff didn't seem fazed when I began "blowing" the fur off the table and they said that a dog had just been examined there. Yuk!!!!! What? No cleaning between patients? I couldn't understand a lot of what the vet was saying and I'm certain he didn't understand me much either. He mumbled something about that she might need blood tests and if she did, the grooming would have to wait until the next day. I assured him that all of her blood work is up to date, a detail of which they could check as I gave them my cat's vet name. He said that she still may have to have more. I told him that this was a "haircut" so that won't be necessary. The staff told me on the phone at the time of booking that the time frame for her grooming would be from 10am til 2pm. When I got there, the assistant told me she would be ready at about 4pm the vet, when examining her told me she would be ready between 1.30 and 2pm. I was then told as I brought her into the room for grooming it would be about 3pm. WOW!!!! They called me to pick her up at 2.30. When I returned home with her, I was not all that impressed with the job and was also surprised to see that her tail had been left Ungroomed. (No little lion tuft at the end). I phoned to ask them if they had forgotten to do her tail and they said that they only do that for cats that have a lot of matting!!! I told her that the reason that her fur is not matted is because I brush her EVERYDAY and this is the reason I chose to have her groomed. This experience cost me just under $200.00. I will never return and it just makes me so grateful for the friendly and clean vet clinic that my cat normally goes to. read more

I just went there and received the best service. They took very good care of me and my injured dog. I was nervous about the costs adding up and the care for my cocker spaniel who can be a fear biting dog. They made both myself and my dog very calm and relaxed. I found our new vet. read more

I have taken my pets to peace arch vet clinic a few times. I have mainly gone for routine stuff and also an emergency once when my dog Kali had a allergic reaction and her face swelled up. The doctors that I have seen there have been great. I have been a lifetime pet owner and have been to numerous vets throughout my life. I can tell you through experience that their prices are very reasonable and fair. It upsets me when people say that vets only care about the money(like a review below). My daughter wants to be a vet and we have been researching costs, it costs north of 300k to become a vet these days. Paying that off will take a lifetime . The review below also states go get a prescription and get the medicine online for your pet, for what to save a few buck's. There is very poor regulation of online pet pharmacies, the medicines you are getting online can be counterfit or expired and can potentially hurt your pet. read more

Before the vet open my cats mouth he was already telling me that his teeth needed cleaning and would cost $300 (which I declined) he said my cat needed blood works, charged an exorbitant fee for an examination which involved weighing my cat, taking his temperature and feeling the loose flesh on his neck. All I wanted was some Amoxicillin tablets (30 cents each on the internet with a prescription). Charged nearly $50 (including a $7.95 dispensing fee) for some ear cream which I looked up online when I got home. I was sick to find that I could buy 6 tubes of the same make of medication for $19.99 + free shipping. When the bill was presented it was wrong. I was first told it because of the tax, I said the tax was already included and demanded to see the original paperwork. After talking with the doctor I was told it was because of a higher cost blood test. I told them I had not asked for or agreed to that and after running backwards and forwards with the doctor (who was hiding in the backroom) I paid the original price. The worst clinic ive ever been to. The staff there are clueless on how to handle or care for animals not to mention there untrained and dont know what there doing. The doctors are even worse. I boarded my dogs there for a week and when i picked them up there bedding was soaked in urine and they were covered in feces. The food i brought for them looked untouched and i was given a 1000.00 bill. Turned out my dogs who are vaccinated or so this clinic claimed ended up with kennel cough. And my dogs were sent home sick. Never would i even even think of going back to that clinic they should be shut down.
