We really enjoyed talking with them, but they were also totally happy to let us enjoy the peacefulness of being out on the water. Gorgeous views from the boat as we traveled around the north shore, with really awesome views you can really only get from a boat. My boyfriend who loves sailing got to take the helm (as did I) to navigate the lobster traps out into the ocean. Absolutely beautiful boat that is super comfortable and we loved the small snacks of cheese and fruit Judy prepared. Overall they were such wonderful hosts and let us make it our own charter. Can't wait to go back next summer!

Both Claude and Judy could not have been more kind and accommodating for our large family sailing excursion. The boat is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable. Our hosts provided great amenities for our sail, were so wonderful with our 2 small children, who could not stop talking about how fun the sail was -- "best sail ever!" My father was boating alone on the North river last week, not in a rental boat but his own. He had…read moreanchored up and was fishing. It started raining, so he decided to leave, but could not get his motor started. He ended up pulling anchor and letting the current take him up the river trying to spot somebody to help him. He tried blowing his air horn a few times, but nobody heard or responded and it finally ran out of air. He drifted for quite a while, more than an hour, in heavy rain. When he finally drifted past Mary's he dropped the anchor and began waving his rain coat in the air to get somebody' attention. Somebody from Mary's took a skiff out to him and towed him all the way back to the boat launch on the South river. I am beyond grateful for the way they took care of him. He is in his 70's now, a former Navy guy, and somebody that always knew how to handle himself on the water. When they brought him back, he was cold and tired. I am so glad that the nice people there helped him out. He could have ended up with hypothermia very easily that day. On a side note, my dad and I used to rent boats from Mary's way back in the early 80's...they have been there a very long time and their rates are very reasonable. What impresses me most is how they treat people. They helped my dad out a lot. So much, that I decided I just had to write this review. Whoever it was that helped my Dad, Thank You!

Loved the new sail awning they put up a this summer. Made lunch much more enjoyable on a hot sunny day! Toddlers had a blast watching the boats coming in and out and the local teens jumping off of the bridge and it didn't matter when they spilled all over the floor. Bar is hidden to the left of the food station but keep looking til you find it. Bloody Mary was great and all other drinks were good too.

The office / guest services area inside is pretty well staffed and they have bathrooms and lockers so seemed promising. Unfortunately after you pay it becomes clear the main intent of this place is sailing. If you want to do anything else, do not come here. I had to chase multiple people down for us to get assistance with getting paddles and we had to go out into the water on our own with little to no direction. In the end, we didn't even get to spend the full 2 hours you pay for out on the water because it took so long to get setup on our own. Don't come here for anything but sailing!

The class had just the right mix of some classroom and theory instruction along with a majority of our time spent on the water. I appreciate how much we repeatedly practiced the important and practical skills needed to operate a sailboat under power, including docking, standing turns, fueling, and more. We were also fortunate that our instructor, Captain Dave Pelkey, was in possession of vast sailing knowledge and experience, which he shared often, explaining the reasons behind everything we were doing, not only how to do it. I recommend the school to anyone seeking to increase their sailing knowledge and to get an ASA certification.

My husband got to learn a little bit about sailing when helping Gary. Make sure to bring sun screen. The trip is about 3 hours long.
