I surprised my husband with a Frayed Knot Sailing charter for his birthday this summer along with our two children. The boat was absolutely beautiful and impeccably kept and cared for. Claude and Judy we're amazing hosts. They we're so warm and friendly and made our special day a memorable one. Offering their knowledge of the coast, landmarks and years of sailing experience it was also an educational opportunity as well. Judy also offered us wonderful snacks and pleasant conversation as we sailed the coast making us feel right at home. This was my 16 year old daughter's first time on a boat and she was a bit nervous. Claude went out of his way to bring both of our children who tend to be a bit shy out of their shells by engaging them in conversation as well as giving them a chance to take the wheel! They both loved it and said she can't wait to go back and do it again! This was an experience we'll never forget and the next time in the Boston area we'll be back on the Frayed Knot with Claude and Judy. Thank you to you both! read more

We signed up for group sailing lessons aboard the Frayed Knot and had such a wonderful experience. Claude is a down to earth, knowledgeable,sea loving instructor, who has us counting the days until next spring when we can sign up for sailing lessons again. The boat is state of the art, breathtaking in all her splendor and so much fun to be on , let alone sail. Being with a captain so competent and easy going makes learning fun. Claude has plenty of patience and was eager to answer any of our questions without making us feel intimidated. His knowledge of the North Shore and all the geography surrounding the shoreline was an added bonus that just made the whole experience even more enjoyable. My family has headed "out on the water" twice for an afternoon sail with Claude and Judy (once last July and once in August), and each time has been a great experience. My father was a lifelong sailor who became unable to sail his own boat due to aging and, eventually, to dementia. We took he and his wife on a sail last summer on the Frayed Knot, and he had a mile-wide grin as he got his first chance in 10 years to get behind the wheel. Claude was an empathetic and encouraging guide for my Dad. As other reviewers have noted, Claude and Judy are gracious and kind hosts, and their boat --the Frayed Knot-- is exceptional (and fun to steer!). I would highly recommend this an experience, if you're looking for a unique and fun way to experience the Cape Ann or North Shore coastline in the summer (or even better, the fall). read more

What a blast! I chartered Frayed Knot Sailing for a 3 hour sail this weekend with a group of friends, and I can't say enough about the experience. Captain Claude Beaudet, and his first mate Judy Beaudet were just lovely! They were warm and welcoming yet very laid back and even allowed those of us who were interested, a chance to steer the boat. They provided generous cheese and cracker platter, and beautiful assortment of Fresh Fruits and Nuts for us to snack on, blankets if we felt chilly, and interesting historical accounts of some of the properties in Manchester by The Sea.The scenery along the coast is exquisite! I can't recommend this experience enough and or think of a lovlier way to spend a summer afternoon then sailing on The Frayed Knot! In fact we are already talking about doing another trip! read more

Yesterday 724/19 was spectacular on the Frayed Knot. Beautiful Boat and so comfy. Captain Claude and first Mate Judy were the perfect host for our adventure sailing the Atlantic Ocean! Snacks that they provided was delish and on point.... so good and the knowledge that they shared of their beautiful part of the World was fantastic and personal ones to about their life. Frayed Knot was absolutely amazing! We booked a 3 hour sailing charter with Capt. Claude and his lovely wife Judy for a Bachelorette party and it could not have been more amazing. All of the girls had a great time and we sailed back and forth along the Boston Harbor. Claude was extremely responsive in booking and worked with us to make sure we could do this within our budget (he even accommodated us and sailed down to Boston to pick us up!). The boat is BYOB and they provided waters, cheese/crackers, fresh fruit, and little chocolates to finish the perfect day. They also have an auxiliary cable and allow us to play our own music. It was an absolutely perfect afternoon! I would highly recommend booking them! read more

We booked a 5 hour charter on Frayed Knot to celebrate my birthday recently with some friends. We had a blast! Claude and Judy are terrific. They are such warm and gracious hosts, and Frayed Knot is a gorgeous boat. It's extremely comfortable and there is room for plenty of people to relax. Claude let us each man the helm for a bit, which was really fun, and we also just relaxed as we sailed around the north shore. I would highly recommend a charter on Frayed Knot. Having looked around some before I chose Frayed Knot, I think it's the best value out there and it's sufficiently close to Boston with plenty of free parking at the launch site. read more

This was the highlight of our entire trip. Claude and his wife are extremely knowledgeable and amazing hosts. We got to see amazing structures and islands and even learned some interesting facts. We got to swim and enjoy the beautiful waters. Claude even let some of us drive the boat (with supervision of course.) To top it all off we even got some complimentary goodies including some coozys and pens! Their hospitality was so incredible that it felt like we all knew each other for a long time. We recently sailed with Captain Claude and his first mate Judy for a lovely afternoon celebrating a birthday milestone for my husband. We were joined by our children and grand kids. My friends and I take an annual sail on the Frayed Knot and look forward to it all year long!! We were on the boat this past weekend and it was awesome as always. We set the weekend up for my sisters bachelorette in Boston. Since we are going to Boston, why not sail?! From day one to months later Captain Claude and Judy have been nothing but accommodating to make for a perfect experience. The first weekend in May can be chilly, they provided jackets, blankets and a quillo. The sail was for three Relaxing hours. They were kind and polite. Very nice people.
